    This was an awesome tip. I have a bestway above ground pool. I purchased the pool vac head and hose then discovered, via youtube, that you need to stuff around purchasing extra connections to attach the hose to the pool outlet port. This video meant i didnt have to go to that extent. Plenty of suction as i sucked out green slime from bottom of pool

    Looks good. I took it a step further and bought a pool pump (variable speed so I need less amps and just connect with a 12 gauge extension cord), bolted it down to a little rolling cart I made and connected the hose to that. The cart also has a little cartridge attached (not necessary but another option), so I can shoot the water back in the pool and just clean the cartridge (and not have to refill the pool). This allows me to just pull the unit out of my truck and roll it around the pool (Not a pool service guy but I service a few friends in my area). This obviously also eliminates having to mess with getting the end of the hose lower for water flow. Been working well for the last few years.

    This siphoning works because of “gravity”, but you must remember that in order for you to keep a continuous flow of water going that the end of the hose MUST be LOWER than the vacuum head and/or the end of the hose that is in the water!!! So, in other words, if the output end of the hose is lifted higher than the suction end of the hose you will lose prime and your gravity siphon pump will not work anymore until you re-prime it and get it flowing again!!!

If the pump is running you can also put the vacuum end up to the jet till a steady stream is coming out the opposite end on the deck. Hopefully that help you definitely need some elevation

    After doing this I had mixed results. Yes he is right you will create a siphon but the results are not as they seem. Which is why you did not see a Timelapse video as was happening. The problem is that inevitably you will keep up debris and May have to do this in several applications to get small debris back down to complete the process. So all in all I would not rate this application a ten maybe a 5 at best. The thing to remember this is not a one or two day process in my opinion.

    • @PoolCareWorld
      @PoolCareWorld  7 месяцев назад

      There were no tricks or video edits in this video just sped up the footage. The siphon created depends on the initial creation and having enough of a hill to put the end of vacuum hose. You’ll see as I toss hose down stairs the siphon increases. Best of luck to you!

    • @theopinions47
      @theopinions47 7 месяцев назад

      @@PoolCareWorld again results will vary my stuff is on my ring camera so I have no reason to lie anyone. As I stated before you are correct about the that way to make a siphon. But anyone thinking this is a one two three process is sadly mistaken. No matter how slow you go you will inevitably kick up some debris and have to do it again. I don’t believe anyone can say that doing process will not kick up debris 100 percent of the time going as slow as possible. I stand by my comment. The argument is not about creating a siphon because I tried it and it worked, but to assume that doing it as you have will be done with just that one time and no debris be kicked up and not sucked out is wrong.

    • @PoolCareWorld
      @PoolCareWorld  7 месяцев назад

      @theopinions47 the hose should be elevated at surface while priming and vacuuming only once full siphon started at the pace of suction. But all that being said I did have to vacuum the pool twice on the video.
