My husband found Latte cakes marked down because they were discontinued. He thought he was being nice and bought me the rest of what they had. That night I received 12 skeins of it all the same color. I've been looking for some way to use it. I saw your video and loved it. I've been using this stitch for years but didn't know the name of it. I've now found a way to use this yarn. Thank You.
Hello there! I'm so happy that you found me. I love caron latte cakes, and I usually put out 2 tutorials a year using it. What a good hubby to have found those for you. 💝 Happy crocheting!
You are my Latte Cake pattern connection my friend 🙏🏽🧶 My grandson is autistic, and his “ thing” from his autism is touch. If something is too rough he won’t wear it 🤷🏽♀️ Everyday he is just in his Pull Up, because he will not keep anything next to his skin. Well he found my Strawberry Flambé Latte Cake blanket I am making for my bed. I am using one of your patterns to make it. I only work on it in the winter (you live in Texas with me, so you know the weather in the summer 😏) so it was in my “ Winter WIPs” basket. He felt it and immediately gave me a heart attack because he pulled it from the basket! I thought he was going to string the yarn everywhere, but he got on my bed and covered himself with it 😶. Thankfully I had remembered to put in a stitch marker, so I didn’t loose any stitches. My daughter, his mother says “ I guess you are going to have to make him a blanket from that yarn mom. He loves the way it feels 🤷🏽♀️.” So we go into the stash and she shows him two colors I have in Latte Cake, he chooses Plum Fresh over Coconut (he loves pink, all pinks it’s crazy 😂! I mean I love pink, but not neon or hot pink, HE LOVES THEM ALL). Next was the pattern. I didn’t want to duplicate the blanket I already started, so I came right to your channel for this pattern. You are one of the only channels that specializes in Latte Cake patterns 🤷🏽♀️ And this is a great thing!. Hope you are well lady! 💯🧶🥰🙏🏽
Hey there, lady! This made my day. I really appreciate that you like my patterns for latte cakes. Ironically, I just finished another one and will be recording hopefully this weekend. I know you're going to love the stitch 💙 Sounds like write one time with a new 1 coming out. Being that your grand baby is wanting one. 😊 Hope, you're staying hydrated. This Texas heat is crazy.
Hello Robin! Thanks for watching. Believe it or not I have been working on another latte cakes blanket. I hope to have it finished by the end of next week so I can show you guys a different Stitch to do with it. Hang tight but I hope to have it done soon. Welcome to the pinky hooks group
Beautiful shawl Shonya! I love Latte Cakes so this tutorial is a blessing🥰 I am working with Latte right now 😂 I’m using the same color way as your baby blanket: Blackberry 😍
Hi. First, you are a good teacher, you're down to earth when you are explaining things. I have a question. After the first row of double crochet, you started in the front post but you ended in the back post. If it's 13 stitches, wouldn't you have ended up in the front? You said that we can make the blanket as wide as we want, but have to have an odd number of chains. What would it look like if we messed up and started with an even number? Thanks for your time.
Hi Jeny! 👋 thank you so much for your compliments. I am going to look it over one more time for you and if you can hang in there I will gladly let you know the answer to your question once I get home. I am so excited to have you as a subscriber. Welcome again and I cannot wait 2 help you out with your question
Hi Bonnie. I was on the fence about using this yarn for a baby blanket but I did it because people requested it. I wasn't sure either especially since I don't have children. Thank you for watching and thank you so much for your feedback 😊
Pretty blanket but not sure I’d use it for a baby though because latte cakes shed those little hairs, especially when being washed… I found out the hard way☹️
Hi Nicola! 👋 Thanks for watching and sharing your feedback. A few other people said the same thing about using this yarn for a vaby blanket. I always get people who request it for a baby blanket because its so soft. I don't have children so I figure that when they request it, they know better than I do. I think Im still on the fence about it though. 🤔
@@pinkyhooks4939 don’t get me wrong it’s gorgeous yarn and have used it’s for many things but because of the shedding I wouldn’t recommend it for baby stuff. For the same squishy softness that doesn’t shed, I prefer to use the Caron Colorama halo yarn instead and have made many baby blankets with it😊
@nicolacarter5277 no worries 👍 I love and welcome the feedback. I didn't like the halo yarn but, I feel like I need to give it another try. I did a review on it buy it was before I worked with it. What do you think about me trying the halo cakes?
@@pinkyhooks4939 I’m in Australia so only been able to get the donut shaped ones and I’m super jealous of the yummy colours available in the US! If you like latte cakes, the halo is the same if not better because it doesn’t shed. I’d say definitely try them, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed😊

Thanks Sue P for your love and support.
Hi ! So pretty. Did you use one cake or two? Thank you
Hello Monica 👋
I used 3 cakes for this
@@pinkyhooks4939 thank you !
I would not use a furry yarn for a baby but the blanket is lovely

how many rolls did it take to do the 24x41 that you did?
3 and a half for this blanket
Ok Pinky 😉😉

How much yarn is needed for this blanket?
Hi Chris! I believe for the rice Stitch blanket I use 2 cakes. Each cake for the Caron latte cakes are about 530 yards
Thanks Pinky! I love the yarn color, do u remember what it's called?
I sure do! It's called BlackBerry
@@pinkyhooks4939 I was wondering what color the blanket was made of, not the swatch you did. Sorry😊
No need to be sorry Chris. The blanket is BlackBerry but that's watch I did was called roasted tomato
Cool yarn, but looks hard to work with visually.
Good morning, Susan!
It does appear hard to work with on camera, but it's actually quite easy to manage when working with it. 🥰
