    I think this is a great tutorial. When you have rhythm going, it's easy to lose count, especially when alternating stitches or using different types of yarn. It's important to look at dye lots so your getting the same colors. I've been crocheting since I was 5 (I'll be 50 this month) and actually taught my 3rd grade teacher how to crochet when she was expecting. As much effort, thought, money and TIME we've put into the craft, I have a deep appreciation for it. I usually buy them from thrift stores so they're saved from the landfills. Time shouldn't be wasted.

    Yes definitely as someone else said and trust me I've learnt the hard way too, always check the dye lot number when you're purchasing your yarn!
    This tells you that all the ones that have the same number were made from the same batch of dye, but another lot number may produce a different looking shade of colour blend, even if it's called the same name, it is surprising how different they can be sometimes!
    I just recently bought some Caron latte cakes in the shades blackberry and coconut cream, they're so pretty!
    Thanks for showing us your blanket as it gave me a chance to see what my garment will look like and how much definition shows through from the pattern. I've been thinking of making a shrug with the Suzette stitch or the Wattle stitch, you've really inspired me even more to get going on it asap, thanks! 😊

    This was a wonderful stitch to use with that yarn! You're absolutely right about stitches getting lost in the "fuzziness" of it. But, the stitch almost pops more because of the yarn. Sounds like it's the size of a "lapghan." ;) I also LOVED that you switched to a different yarn later (although you did use the wrong sized hook). :P I tend to crochet tight as well, so your tips about trying to keep your tension loose were very encouraging. I've never heard of this stitch before, so I will definitely try to use it for something. (But, not until I get finished with my grandmother's afghan!) ;) ;) I'll keep you posted on what I decide to do with it. EXCELLENT tutorial! GO PINKY GO!! :D LOL

      Good morning Gwendy. Thanks for watching. I'm glad that you liked it. Do you use Caron latte cakes? I love them 💗 i don't know what I was thinking using that hook on that yellow yarn. 😆
      I was so tired because I just got home from work. Oh well , at least it's done. Lol. Man, I can't wait to see the afghan yoy are working on. A lapgan? I've never heard that term before but I will use it from now on. 🤗

    • @gwendyrose8905
      @gwendyrose8905 2 года назад

      @@pinkyhooks4939 I've never used the Caron latte cakes before. I've just used the Caron Simply Soft. I have "sensory issues" so I try to keep the yarns I use as soft as possible. (Even the Red Heart Super Saver is a bit rough for me.) But, I don't have a lot of income, so I usually use whatever I have "donated" to me from those who know I do yarn stuff. :) Unfortunately, it's usually just one MAYBE 2 skeins of a color, so I end up doing a lot of "motif" work.
      Our church's women's organization does a lot of charity work. We've done "Lapghans" for nursing homes and assisted living facilities on many occasions. They work especially well for those who are in a wheel chair so that they don't drag around on the floor and get caught in the wheels.
