Please Mazda use this platform to make a sport sedan (or better yet a wagon).

Reliability of the powertrain is the only concern I have other than that the car looks great

    Great review!
Mazda could have done a better job with the power plant…naturally aspirated in-line 6 would have got a head start with reliability instead of the Turbo added moving parts. No comments on the inferior EV technology. If people want to throw away their money, let them do it. It’s a free country.

Mazda has been using turbos for years and had very few problems with them, modern turbos are much better than they used to be. The hybrid is just basically a battery and small electric motor, not new technology either and much less complex than the rest of the internal combustion engine. There is no reason to think these new engines will be unreliable especially when considering mazdas track record.

@@michaels7984 Turbos are more moving parts and these Turbos don’t last long…not forgiving setup.
As for Hybrid, it’s another power grab by politicians and manufacturers. They don’t want us working on our cars anymore.
I was able to get 40+mpg on vehicles late 80s so all this hype about economy is ludicrous. Penny wise, dollar stupid!!!!
