The Signature trim is the high-end luxury model aimed at people who probably aren't ferrying around small kids. So the center console with captain chairs makes sense.
While I agree, the latest shortage in chips, etc has forced automakers to produce more of the high end models, and less of the base models. Then they can also charge the outrageous prices. With the market slowing, maybe more base models will come back. Hopefully.
We have a 2021 CX9 carbon edition. It's fully equipped and is an amazing vehicle. On the interstate, driving the speed limit, we have gotten up to 36.3 mpg. I don't know what engine noise you are referring to, but our CX9 is smooth and quiet. I once drove 1,500 miles at 80 mph, and there wasn't any noise as you suggested. Also, our carbon edition doesn't have the center console in the rear. I also prefer the knob controller over the touch screen. Basically, the only problem that I have encountered is that I don't think the headlights are bright enough. That's my opinion after driving our CX9 36k miles in 3 years.

I just sold my 2015 cx-9, V6 engine, 87,000, mi, and bought a used 2022 cx-9, turbo 4 cyl with 18,000 mi. I was a bit apprehensive about being a 4 cyl at first but the turbo has faster acceleration and a feeling of power as good or better than my V-6, so I disagree with the comments about needing a V-6, the one I bought has more than enough. Everything about being smooth and quiet is right on. A few things like warning steering wheel vibrations when you get too close to the road edge etc. will take getting used to. As well as all the controls.
Mine: 2012 cx9 GT loaded. Now 176k.miles, aiming for 200k. lots of problems with power this and that. Gets 12 mpg and I am not heavy foot Very rough ride, but quiet inside. Plenty of engine power still. Navi CD can't update anymore. Power window, roof and seat switch inop. I may go for a 2020 cX 9 model.
Indeed. My brother has a 2019 CX-5 and the rotary dial is so much easier to use. Having to lean forward and swipe a screen can get so tiresome on long drives.
While I respect CCN's opinions and find him very knowledgeable overall, I feel that his comments regarding the CX-9 engine are not aligned with my experience. I find the engine very adequate for the vehicle, its very smooth, it doesnt need to be pushed hard to get it moving, and it doesnt rattle. He must have gotten a bad sample to evaluate. My concern for this engine is with regard to longevity. There are known issues with cylinder head cracking and coolant leaks resulting. I wish he would have addressed that issue since I don''t know the magnitude or number of vehicles affected with this problem.
I own a 2022 cx9. The comfort is amazing. The engine is very adequate and smooth. It's easier to park than an Explorer I traded in to get the Mazda. The steering is crisp and you don't feel like it's a big luggy vehicle. I disagree with your dislikes of the cx9 but you're entitled to your opinion. I have the Touring model with the premium package and I'm extremely happy with it.
I absolutely love my 2022 CX9 touring plus. I have had Toyota’s for years and bought a CX5 first then I got the larger CX 9 . Hands-down the Mazda is a star, there is hardly any road noise at all in the Mazda compared to the Toyota. The Toyota was one of the worst with road noise. I love the driving dynamics of the Mazda, CX9 compared to the Toyota. Mazda was not even on my radar when I was looking for another vehicle then my best friend said, do you need to drive the Mazda I did, and all I can say is wow I am so impressed with this vehicle will definitely be buying another Mazda in the future.
The lower models have the 2nd row bench. Mazda use to have a V6 which delivered 273 hp but it was a gas guzzler. I find the 4 cyl. turbo adequate for carrying passengers but not for hauling. I have gotten amazing highway mpg numbers in the high 20s. I love this vehicle It handles better than all other suvs that I have driven (Honda ,toyata, kia). It simply is a good reliable vehicle that does the job for a reasonable priice.
We had to get the Touring Plus so we could get the bench (plus what was available). We' had twins and still have one in a car seat...😮 Wife hated getting rid of CX5 but absolutely loves the CX9 now.
You picked the Signature trim, the top trim, and you rattle and complain about the center console. Too much! You should’ve picked other trims, and the GT is fully loaded as well but has a full bench second row sets. Why are you sending false messages like that?
Mazda makes great cars and nice looking and amazing Quality very reliable I had Mazda before it was an amazing reliable product in my own personal experience Mazda Quality s Good as Toyota just do the normal maintenance. Thanks
Good review as always. However, looks like you always pick a top of the line model. It would be nice to compare it to lower models which most people would actually afford. In fairness and to clarify: in this video you did mention the other trims not having that center console, thanks for that!
@@TerrorRising I never expect it to be real wood. It’s a 52K buck mid size 3row SUV. You won’t find real wood in any suv s this size and capability. That being said, I just wish the didn’t even try at this point. Looks nice till the very first scratch after which it’ll just start peeling
I own a cx9 and I do not agree on the engine feeling, it's true when you first push the accelerator pedal you hear the engine reb but ones it's going it's a peppy and smooth ride
You can get one without the center console as I did. I did have a 2022 Kia Telluride EX, but the sound and music which is very important to me is much better with Mazda's 12-speaker Bose System.
The “fake” wood is actually the real thing. It’s genuine rosewood made by Fujigen guitars for their fretboards. Stunning with the right interior. And black is not the right color for the interior.
We currently have a 2017 CX-9 GT and it is working fine after 5 years with just regular maintenance, this one was built in Japan. I don't find the engine noisy or lack of power with just normal up and go at the traffic light and no extra oil consumption. The infotainment is a touch screen unless they change it for the new model.
The rear centre console is fine if you have teens/adult children or you use this as a work car for carrying around clients, doing airport runs etc. For the little tackers, as you say there is a full bench seat in the lower trim models and lets face it, that is the car you would buy for a family. The less well equipped models are also more durable for family use as they don't have the fancy trim etc, but offer the exact same practicality and performance at a lower purchase price. In some markets like in Japan, New Zealand and Australia, you also have the CX-8 which still gives you the same length and six seats, but is a narrower car, so easier to park.
This actually works well for us as 70 year old empty nesters. Enough room for transporting adults when we go out to dinner or a show which we do every week. And enough room for four adults to travel 300 to 600 miles on short vacations with luggage. I'd like a bigger engine or a hybrid option, but Mazda has been dragging its feet in that department.
So Car Care Nut----all of the room that you complain about in the engine bay.......for a gasoline motor it is great, and for the electronics. Gasoline engines are much more efficient in cooler environment, and electronics are not being baked under the hood like in some Toyota, and Lexus products. Bring back the days when you could stand in the engine bay of Volvo's 240 and work on the engine. All of the car engines made today are so tightly encased by the upper motor covers, grills that close, and bottom engine pans, C'mon, you got to do better than that! Just a really dumb comment on something old school and has a proven facts.
I just bought a used 2021 cx9 grand touring. I must disagree with you on the engine noise. Most of the grunt is under 3k rpm. What this means is that I don't need to rev the engine high enough to get moving. I am enjoying my car. I also rented a ford explorer for 2months before I bought this. I test drove all the v6 SUvs. The cabin is more isolated than other cars in the segment. This is the only good car deal on the market of 7 seaters if you can find it.
Owning a 2022 Top of the range CX-9. There is nothing to complain on the comfort, driving experience, safety, parking, non touch screen, etc, but the storage. But it can be compromised or adding a cargo box with roof rails. Overall, it is a very nice car that i am very satisfying.
I own a 2023 CX-9, traded my RDX and could not be happier. I enjoy your reviews, find them be thorough, entertaining, and informative. However I take some exception with some of your criticisms as to it's size and powertrain. I know you started your videos almost exclusively as a Toyota guy and the Highlander is probably their most comparable model. The CX-9 is about 4 inches longer and 2 inches wider than the Highlander which is marketed as a mid size SUV. I have no problem in parking lots, it's easy to maneuver. Powertrain in the 2023 Highlander is a 2.4 L Turbo, same with the Lexus RX350. The Highlander has more HP 265 vs 220 (250 w/ Premium) but the Mazda has more torque. HP peaks at high RPM, torque is what makes a nice driving experience. Also 0-60 times the CX-9 is faster at 7.1 seconds vs the new Highlander at 8.0. I don't think it's fair to call the CX-9 underpowered. Pricing also favors the CX-9, compare apples to apples and the CX-9 is $4000 or more less expensive. I enjoy your reviews but think you may have been a little unfair with the Mazda.
If the biggest criticism of this car is a center console that is only on one of this trims then it really shows is a great car. Great review for the mechanical part, for the styling and other points i think it was a bit unfair.
A lot of drawn out hot air over two or three reservations. This video could’ve been ten minutes shorter if you’d simply said, if you have a large family, buy the the lower trim - it’s better suited to families. I have a strong felling that these (with proper maintenance) are going to serve their owners for a good long time, and look good doing so. A simple six speed transmission ought to serve well over the CVT’s, dual clutch, and 8 or 10 speeds that’ve flooded this market. Time will tell. Thank you.
We got a 2019 in 2021 (just before prices started increasing due to the pandemic) for $28k. Touring with technology package. Also has the bench. For this price we're happy with it. On ours the infotainment screen is touch when the car is stopped. But agree the screen definitely is outdated. The engine never feels underpowered, but you definitely hear it when accelerating. But once you get up to speed it's quiet again.
Design is subjective. I love this design. Reliable. I had a telluride and a Nissan before. This one is the best. The way it drives and luxury inside. Super smooth and quiet. I have the touring plus and it cost only 43k. Cx-5 and cx-50 space is limited
“It’s huge, it’s ginormous, it’s a massive car” … but did you actually drive it? Because it doesn’t feel massive at all when you’re driving it. The CX-9 handles like a car half its size, not like a big boxy SUV like the competition. With the bird’s eye/360 camera view I can easily squeeze this sucker into parking spaces you’d never believe. For normal around town driving the engine is more than adequate. Even when fully loaded with camping gear, a roof top cargo box, and towing a 1500lb trailer, it pulls like a champ.
You should have re done your video for integrity when it comes to down side of the car!! because your argument is about 2 things, the center console (which all the other trims do not have it!!!) actually you can have the car with bench seat, and the other argument is the price, you said 50k but that for the top trim man!!!! you should have said the range of the price which is from 36k to 50k, and if you know the prices well you will know that the top trim price is equal the start price for lux brands like Acura and Infinity.
I bought a CX9 signature specifically for the captains chairs and center consul but I drive my one child and my aging parents around. I leave the third row down and use it as a large trunk. I have a Chevy suburban with a V8 and it is massive in comparison and for shorter in the city trip the Mazda fits perfect it’s all used case
Thank you for explaining the mechanics of the cars because I see this overlooked in many other reviewers, they only talk about how things look and little about the substance.
Dude... same bs about plastic coolant cover, direct injection, ball joint integrated into control arm, etc that you say over and over in every review. Get over it and talk about things that really matter.
Regardless of the review, this vehicle is an amazing choice for the cost. That interior looks modern, sporty and has everything you need while driving a family car.
So that’s why I went with 2021 GT, 6 seats, no central console, very easy walkway for my two kids get to the 3rd row. Now my Cx9 already hit 85k under 3yrs without any issues, running like the 1st day I have her. Tried -90, not happy with it and the unreasonable price tag.
I don't think I've ever driven a car with a more "adequate" drivetrain. Not slow, not fast. Gobs of torque under 2000rpm (and nothing home over 4500) Next to know vibration transferred into the cabin. It really just feels like a really quiet and smooth turbo diesel. 90% of the time, loafing around town at 1500rpm. It is def clattery on warm-up, the nature of DI, but it builds heat quickly, and then just disappears. The high end trim levels def don't make so much sense when you go to the top end, but it seems that's the only models available for review.. The entry level tiers are great value. The GS-L trim here in Canada (I think similar Touring Plus?) Is very nicely equipped, and compared mid-tier CX-5 with the Turbo, they're almost the same price!
Let's be fair, there is a normal bench seat option for the rear. Most people with families will be buying the trim level right under the Signature trim, which still offers all the tech and goodies, but has a normal bench 2nd row. You just lose the diamond stich leather, wood trim, and the LED grill accent.
All these car companies are getting rid of the V6, a great engine. Now there going with the 4 cylinder turbo engine, its weak and loud. Everyone is going cheap with this crap and it never ends. The V6 was a great engine and it had power. Its all weak junk now.
Toyota and Honda for these options, space cost you 5k to 6k more than Cx9. Oh BTW, there is also a dealer mark up fee for Hyundai, Kia Honda and Toyota . All the competitor cars for CX9 will reach 57 k if you want to load your car to the gills. Grand touring with 2nd row bench seat is a better option.
Awesome video my friend. Thanks so much. We have the 2022 grand touring and love it for the most part. yes, loud engine. seems unnecessary. horrible gas mileage. just such a heavy vehicle. but, we knew what we were getting into with the gas mileage. I will say though that I am sensitive to noises and creeks and I notice that there is a whirling sound coming from the front end while driving more that 20 miles an hour. What is interesting is that I noticed the same sound when I drove a courtesy Mazda cx 30. It must be a characteristic of the whole line?? In my opinion the cx-9 is the most visually appealing suv out there....and the RIMS! NOBODY DOES BEAUTIFUL RIMS LIKE MAZDA-OUTSTANDING
Why would anyone want this to haul their families? Imagine shopping for a car and you know that someone who's 6'5" will sit in the back seat. Nearly 40" of legroom back there, few can match it. The 3rd row is really just for emergencies. Just fold it down and take advantage of what becomes a huge trunk.
This guy needs to let it go about the cx9 being "so big". I guess idk if this a review in america, so perhaps he has a point. If in america, this is not a big vehicle in the least.
Have a 2019 grand touring and disagree 100 percent that it needs a V6. The 4 cylinder turbo has plenty of power and also gets 26 or 27 mpg on trips.perfect combination. Only one complaint is no side mirror memory for different drivers.
I like the fact that the headlights mirror the tail lights. Like a 71 Imperial. I have a 2016 signature which I love. It has been flawless. Awesome middle bench and third row seat comfort, in Napa leather. Great video sir, thank you. Have a good day.
Man, you keep telling that this is an enormous car. No, it is not! Stop! It is average for the 3 row mid size suv. When you drive it you will never tell it is large, it drives like a mid size sedan. Everything else on the market, such as highlander, explorer, traverse etc will be the same size or very close to it. But cx9 drives a lot lighter and nimbler than all of the rest of them. So stop sending a false message about the size of it and that the engine is underpowered. I have 2018 cx9 and 2023 traverse in the family. Day and night. The cx9 is just made differently, drives better, and still 4 years older.
1000%. I don't find it underpowered, drive mine to the limit with no problems, and it's so much more comfortable than much of the competition. It actually drives "small" compared to most SUVs in this class, it maneuvers like a sedan.
@@markg999 so far yes. Have mine since end if June 2018. Did not put too many miles, only 34k so far. But we drive mainly in the city, so the mileage is probably close to 50k, if that is even the right comparison. No issues otherwise. Have one recall active that Mazda can’t fulfill for a long time now due to lack of parts, which is fuel pump replacement.
I rented a CX9 on a ski trip with my family (five people-all adult sized) and I fell in love with it. It never felt underpowered. It did not have the center console in the middle row, however, it was the Grand Touring if I remember correctly. It performed fine in the snow. The engine was not loud. I highly recommend this vehicles for families. It is big, but not massive or as big as some of the competitors in this class.
Own a 2022 CX9, no disappointment here. The second row captains chairs also recline, no mention here. Drove Cadilac’s, on and off for twenty years. This car doesn’t take a back seat, no pun intended. Quiet smooth luxury SUV.
If you want to be fair with this trim, you should refer to the highest (or at least equivalent) trims of the competitors. Your review would be much different if you were checking the Grand Touring with a bench. It would be $3k less with 7 seats and exactly the same features except for the Napa leather seats (still leather seats though). As for the engine, we all like more power but you need to keep mileage in mind as well. Many family owners do care about consumption and I don't know many V6s (in similar price tags and AWD configuration) that do 23mpg combined like this 4-cylinder turbo. I agree though that a manufacturer should give options to the customer so the only negative here is the lack of engine options from Mazda. But for most families this engine is absolutely fine. Also agree about this setup getting older but this year this car will be replaced by the CX-90.
I have a 22 carbon edition for a family of four and a 2021 grand touring with the beach seat as my work vehicle, the bench seat is comfortable to work in the back while on the road. The fold down armrest hold the laptop well and high enough to be comfortable
I own a 2020 and I love the size of my cx 9, very roomy in the 3rd row for when you need it. This guy goes on and on, on about how MASSIVE this car is. Then don't buy it...
CarCareNut always stresses the importance of "maintenance" required to the longevity of these GDI engines, but he never elaborates. Does he have a video where he elaborates on this maintenance that is required? Is it as simple as strict oil change intervals? Or is there more to it?
cars that lack port injection get whats called carbon build up on the back of the valves in the engine because of how emissions systems on cars work (where oil blow-by is recirculated into the intake of the engine to be burnt again). Port-injection washes the back of these valves with gasoline constantly but direct-injection only engines do not do that. This causes varying degrees of issues on many modern cars & you can see them lose alot of resale value as they hit 100k+ miles etc. Whatever the typical mileage is for failure on a car like that. The repair for this is typically expensive & involves partial engine disassembly. Installing an oil catch can can help. But generally its considered to make it so the engine won't make it 300k miles like you might expect in a "more reliable" engine that has both port & direct injection. So resale value suffers, etc.
@@MarkTrades__ Thanks for the info. I was recently in the market for a used car for my son. I've come to trust Hyundai/Kia, but not if they have 100k miles or more, for that very reason. I'm not sure I trust them too much past that mileage, but especially if I see GDI on the engine cover.
My 2018 Signature has a touch screen. Though we never use it, the knob works great. I find the CX9 to be small compared to the competition. My biggest complaint is these cars chew through brake pads. That’s real wood btw!
Mazda brakes can be a crapshoot on longevity. My first set lasted 60k miles. My second set 25k miles, and had to change because the rotors warped. I read a few forums that say this is an issue. Still love the car though.
Today I test drove a 2021 Mazda CX9 Grand Touring and it checked all of the boxes. Ventilated Seats and heated steering wheel was a must and deal breaker. I had a 1998 Mazda Millenia back in the Ford disasters days and was very hesitant but Mazda is kicking ass with their line up. This crossover takes off with that turbo and the engine feels nothing like a V4. I'm a bit nervous about the turbo but I haven't found 1 negative review yet. Long story shirt I put a down payment and I'm super excited to take it home. I'm upgrading from a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer Premium 😂😂 Great review sir! Keep up the great work!!
Boy, you sure love the word "proper". Seriously, I enjoyed the review. I am looking forward to your review of the CX-90 which is being revealed in a few weeks as the CX-9 is too small (cargo wise ) for my taste.
This is not dislikes people have to educate themselves more...... people don't realize that using knob is way is way safety than using touch screen. And second row is optional capitan chairs without console
I really like your reviews. It's technical and yet so simply put, insightful and very practical. Can you please share your review for the new 2023 Mazda CX 90? I'm planning to buy the car but not before watching your review!! Also please suggest which trim out of the two trims of CX 90 that I shortlisted - Turbo Preferred Plus or Turbo S (rationale: I don't like the captain's chair option and prefer the bench seat in the 2nd row). The doubt I have - is it worth spending almost $7K more for the Turbo S? Thank you in advance! #thecarcarenut
I just took my new to me 1 owner 50k mile ‘21 grand touring on its first road trip and I’m really happy with it. The torque gets this puppy moving quickly and is great for those sketchy passes on a two lane road. I actually adore the engine noises and torque steer. Really complements the handling when you’re getting after it. The tech is great inside and out and it’s very comfortable even for me being a husky dude and 6’2”. My only gripes are that the fog lights are not really useful at the stock aiming and some of the panel gaps are weird up by the A pillar and of course the limited trunk space with the third row up.

Because he only like Toyota and Lexus
I like your thorough reviews. Instead of picking top trims, please consider reviewing the most sold ones.
Mazda makes great cars and nice looking and amazing Quality very reliable I had Mazda before it was an amazing reliable product in my own personal experience Mazda Quality s Good as Toyota just do the normal maintenance. Thanks
Dude, you can get it with a bench in the middle, 2 captains chairs, or no center console… Why go on and on?
He clearly said he was reviewing THAT model. And mentioned get it without the console is better.
Good review as always.
However, looks like you always pick a top of the line model. It would be nice to compare it to lower models which most people would actually afford.
In fairness and to clarify: in this video you did mention the other trims not having that center console, thanks for that!
Man, why you are keep telling the audience that it's a fake wood. In fact, it's a veneer wood of Japanese Ash.
Like using knob is way more safety than touch screens. Second row capitan chairs available without center console.
It’s not real wood. Take that piece and cut it in half. The veneer is a high quality print on top of plastic. Nothing more.
fake wood
@@TerrorRising I never expect it to be real wood. It’s a 52K buck mid size 3row SUV. You won’t find real wood in any suv s this size and capability. That being said, I just wish the didn’t even try at this point. Looks nice till the very first scratch after which it’ll just start peeling
cause it’s a fake wood 😂😂😂
I literally test drove a 2023 cx 9 last week...NEVER rattled, never made any noise, smooth, comfy ride...loved it.
I own a cx9 and I do not agree on the engine feeling, it's true when you first push the accelerator pedal you hear the engine reb but ones it's going it's a peppy and smooth ride
This is not engine reb but close cabin turbo noise when accelerate
You can get one without the center console as I did. I did have a 2022 Kia Telluride EX, but the sound and music which is very important to me is much better with Mazda's 12-speaker Bose System.
Oh lord, please go test the car and do not pay attention to this guy. No engine rattles anything. This guy is so full of it. The car is so smooth.
This guy is super nice, he's not full of it... just his opinion
The “fake” wood is actually the real thing. It’s genuine rosewood made by Fujigen guitars for their fretboards. Stunning with the right interior. And black is not the right color for the interior.
The Sand interior is so much better than the black.

We test drove a 2021 CX-9 GT and you have to use that knob that controls the screen they change it in newer Mazda in 2019
Do you want to sell your 2017 CX-9 GT?
I have the 2019 signature and the touchscreen works when you are in park. I’m not sure about the newer model.
Our 2021 was also built in Japan, which was important for us in purchasing our 1st Mazda.
How much are your mainatance costs and how much are parts
I have a 2016 CX-9 signature series. my wood trim is real and my screen is a touchscreen. I love my zoom zoom 😍
I like the old school things about these Mazda's. Will look hard at them when we have to trade.
God bless everyone!
Mazda has an inline 6 on the way. It should be a great engine for this car.
The backseat center console is a benefit to families. I can see it keeping them separated to prevent fighting.
The wood is genuine btw
Direct injection not an issue in Mazda since 2014. Not a single issue
His accent always sounds disappointed no matter what he says lol
I enjoy your reviews but think you may have been a little unfair with the Mazda.
he is a Toyota guy, what do you expect!
Plastic wood you are full of it!
@@davidsmith9457 you are carrying a Woody!
It is rosewood made by same guys that make wooden instruments for Yamaha
@@HG-Pilot good answer but I doubt that you are correct!
Thank you.
we picked up a 2022 cx9. love it. sporty feel...lots power.
Those are such late model cars. How did you go through them so fast??

@@djkenny1202yeah it's stupid idea but many low IQ people prefer pay whole life and have nothing to the end.
I love this car. I have a 2020 CX9 GT. Maybe I drive too slow but I never hear the engine buzzing around. It’s so quiet. ❤
Can everyone stop saying “ fake wood “ on their reviews MAZDA has addressed this and it is listed on their website as REALLLLL WOOD
Seems like a better car over the new cx90 lol
This is more refined than a CX50. I own a 50 but wished I had bought the 9.
Real wood though.
Let's be fair, there is a normal bench seat option for the rear. Most people with families will be buying the trim level right under the Signature trim, which still offers all the tech and goodies, but has a normal bench 2nd row. You just lose the diamond stich leather, wood trim, and the LED grill accent.
well known blown head gasket recently happened, Mazda try to shake off without any recall. Stop buying
I agree that the larger models from Mazda needs more powerful powertrains
Mazda is really doing quality and ride well
This guy needs to let it go about the cx9 being "so big".
As a owner of a 2020 CX-9, this is the BEST breakdown of the vehicle build and internals on the internet! love your channel!
I like the fact that the headlights mirror the tail lights. Like a 71 Imperial. I have a 2016 signature which I love. It has been flawless. Awesome middle bench and third row seat comfort, in Napa leather. Great video sir, thank you. Have a good day.
All Mazda CX-9 Signature have real wood
Especially if you put 93 octane gasoline run way better
1000%. I don't find it underpowered, drive mine to the limit with no problems, and it's so much more comfortable than much of the competition. It actually drives "small" compared to most SUVs in this class, it maneuvers like a sedan.
Cx9 been reliable?
@@markg999 so far yes. Have mine since end if June 2018. Did not put too many miles, only 34k so far. But we drive mainly in the city, so the mileage is probably close to 50k, if that is even the right comparison. No issues otherwise. Have one recall active that Mazda can’t fulfill for a long time now due to lack of parts, which is fuel pump replacement.
this guys a nit picker
stupid complaints🙄
The head of CX-9 is as big as its body. What could possibly be in that head that when you drive it, it doesn't even have power?
I rented a CX9 on a ski trip with my family (five people-all adult sized) and I fell in love with it. It never felt underpowered. It did not have the center console in the middle row, however, it was the Grand Touring if I remember correctly. It performed fine in the snow. The engine was not loud. I highly recommend this vehicles for families. It is big, but not massive or as big as some of the competitors in this class.
That's real wood
The engine is smooth and quiet. More than enough. The wood accents are not fake either
I drive a Nissan NV work van, the size of this thing is peanuts. If you think its hard to park maybe you should retake your driving test
Own a 2022 CX9, no disappointment here. The second row captains chairs also recline, no mention here. Drove Cadilac’s, on and off for twenty years. This car doesn’t take a back seat, no pun intended. Quiet smooth luxury SUV.
Having a huge engine bay is good for the mechanics' advantage!
This is a bargain on the used car market.
Very “quiet” with Lexus-type insulation…the engine is loud?? How can that be?
I have a 22 carbon edition for a family of four and a 2021 grand touring with the beach seat as my work vehicle, the bench seat is comfortable to work in the back while on the road. The fold down armrest hold the laptop well and high enough to be comfortable
My wife is 5.4 and she loves the size. Not big for her. Just maybe you driving a mini Cooper as a daily?
2021 cx-9 I love this car so much. Such a great fun car for road trips
I own a 2020 and I love the size of my cx 9, very roomy in the 3rd row for when you need it. This guy goes on and on, on about how MASSIVE this car is. Then don't buy it...
All the manufacturers are trying to get into that 50k bracket. The cars for the price are insane !
That’s real wood. You should check your facts.
My 2018 Signature has a touch screen. Though we never use it, the knob works great. I find the CX9 to be small compared to the competition. My biggest complaint is these cars chew through brake pads. That’s real wood btw!
I have a 2020 with 50k miles on it and the brake pads are still good.
Mazda brakes can be a crapshoot on longevity. My first set lasted 60k miles. My second set 25k miles, and had to change because the rotors warped. I read a few forums that say this is an issue. Still love the car though.
@michaelmcnulty8785 I've heard that too. I'm at 55k on my original brakes and hope all goes well with the new brakes when it's time.
2018, had to replace the rear only a month or two ago at 25k miles. Rear pads only is weird to me
OMG , you have become Scotty....... please don't

The wood is an actual wood from Japan. Why are you making false statements?
That's true
I have a 22 cx5 signature. Best vehicle I have ever had
No coolant leak so far?
