- Hi all. In this episode I'm preparing burgers. We haven't received any buns so we had to improvise, and we ended up doing Patty Melt.
This video was shot on DJI Osmo Action 4. I have noticed that the sound clipped quite a few times. The microphone seems to be more sensitive then the GoPro's. The angle is a bit different too, but hopefully you will enjoy the content anyway. 👌😊👍 - Развлечения

When my stainless steel griddle gets like that from smashburgers I keep a squirt bottle of water and "deglaze" it. Works great, lots of steam.
Outstanding to see some proper American cheese slices on your line! You're getting better each time! Quick note: the onions should be smashed into the TOP of the meat when initially pressing. Putting the onions on the griddle first prevents the patty from getting a full smash "crust"

I've gotten my Waring griddle out and cooking on it again eggs, fried rice, shrimp, scallops and squash so far. Inspired me.
I laughed at that bit of Madness! "Baggy Trousers!"
A few tips.....Grill is too hot. Need to oil or butter the part of the grill that each patty goes on. Meat needs more fat in it. Onions should go on top first and be pressed into the meat.

Felt uncomfortable by onions going down first. I put them first on top of patty to melt, then down to caramelize quickly.

Hi Chef, can I just ask out of interest, as a suffering coeliac ( through no fault/choice of mine ) and can not eat wheat/barley/rye or contaminated oats or any food that may of been contaminated by these. If I worked there would I starve?

Why didn't you just keep the onions separate and just caramelize them with some butter I just think it wouldn't be easier on the grill. That's the messiest I've ever seen that grill 😂😂 maybe a suggestion for next time chef.

True Boomer Burgers. Burger on two pieces of bread. That is how my parents used to give it to us here in the states. You end up tasting the meat not the bun. Today, huge buns and small burgers. Like it better, personally, on the bread. :)
any burger worth it's weight in gold will have buns that are slightly smaller than the patties.

Hey Mr. T. Quick question… how do you determine exactly how much food to make ? Example… how much baked beans to have , how many patties, chicken etc.
As this is a staff canteen, they most likely know how many staff work there, perhaps even by specific days/shifts - so they can plan accordingly to have enough meals to cover, or to have other alternative and backup options.

if you turn the bread around to the side you will cook if fully instead of the top half hanging out

Why two types of bread slices? Everyone is worried about the contamination but I’m stuck on the bread 😂
When people ask what they should get or hesitate and you recommend the special, is it because it's limited, you prefer it, for any other reason, or a combination of those? I remember someone telling me the special at their place was always to sell a product made from surplus ingredients, and idk if that's a universal thing. I always get the special at my Uni's cafeteria, but that's because it's cheaper and quicker than everything else. I don't have the guts to ask them in person lol
(they also always recommend the special, and and almost all the time they are right: it is in fact really good)
Alot of the time a special is something that has been bought in a small amount on the day so you need to sell out or its a waste. traditionally in european restaurants (not like a college cafeteria) a special exists because the chef goes to a local market and picks the freshest produce and makes a dish from it. alot of the time in america and the uk if its a special and its on the menu more than a day or two they are trying to use leftovers to make more of a profit and it wont be good.

The grill is awesome. I should have put the meat first, then the onion. Also, it was set higher, higher chance of burning stuff. But the grill is fine 👌😊👍

The camera angel is a little lower - it shows more of the stuff south. You may need to position it a little up - to get the right angle.

"Smashburgers" were first created in my home state of Oklahoma USA. Looks like Mr. Grill is beginning to get seasoned. PS: the onions go on top. 😉
