Ruth and Mannix were not friends - they weren't even acquaintances, and there wasn't an ounce of love lost between them. Hell, saving Chris wouldn't have done John any favors, as he was already a dead man. And yet, as Warren points out, John still chose to save Chris' life by warning him.

the well isnt pumped into the house, they show them getting water from a barrell presumably filled from that morning before they killed minnie/others as they stated they would have to carry them up the mountain to drop them in the well

fun fact - the music is from the 1982 film The Thing's soundtrack, but they decided not to put it in the film. so this is the first film it's been in even though it was made decades ago

You guys know the story of that guitar?
It was a 145 year old Martin Guitar on loan from the Martin Museum. Kurt Russell thought it was a prop. The props department forgot he was using the real one in this scene. Because the movie studio accidentally destroyed a priceless piece, they won't loan guitars out anymore under any circumstances

I love the music from this film. Hell I love the music from all of Tarantino's films. He and John Carpenter have the best music in their films.
Funny that you say that, I've been reading other comments that say this song was made for The Thing but was never used until this film and on top of that Kurt Russell is in both movies!

I kind of love how it's really OB's death that makes everyone start killing each other. If it was just Ruth, the "good guys" would understand Ruth made the wrong enemies and while things certainly could escalate, it's fair to say everyone's desire to live would win out. But because OB died, that tells everyone the assassin(s) don't care who they hurt, and that's what gets them shooting.
Went from the most peaceful scene in the movie to the most disturbing

It's a signature of Tarantino films. Nothing too crazy really happens for a long time until all the tension slowing building up explode in a violent spectacle. Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is another example of this
Fun fact: The music that plays after people start spewing blood from the poison, was actually a score that was almost used for the film, the thing. I can see why it was removed. Little did the composer knew, that score was meant for this scene.
And kurt Russell was also in The Thing. And ennio morricone earned his first oscar for best original score when this film was released

@@ComedyBros5 nah it’s a perfect movie. It’s one of the best written movies of the 2010s and it gets better in every rewatch. I’m a big Tarantino film but even I was blown away by this film. This and pulp fiction are my favorite films he’s made
3:12 Fun fact: that guitar John Ruth destroyed was a vintage 1870 original model from the Martin Museum worth $400,000. It was supposed to be replaced with a cheap replica, but poor Kurt forgot to switch the guitars!! 😂😂😂
2 things:
1) the guitar’s price was 40,000
2) it wasn’t kurts fault, you see, there was a miscommunication between Kurt and the prop masters, so Kurt didn’t actually know that that was the old guitar, plus, Quentin Tarantino never said CUT when Kurt grabbed the guitar, so really, the prop masters and Quentin Tarantino are to blame

Favorite scene of the movie, Jason Leigh was awesome in this movie, the editing in this video ruined it a little bit tho.
That's what I thought...the editing was way off.
Daisy had bigger balls than all 7 men in that room. She was so evil, great character.
The only thing I didn't like about this entire movie was the period where Quentin Tarantino was narrating. It really felt out of place and it made you drop suspension of disbelief and all of a sudden you're looking at all the characters from a different point of view I just thought it was unnecessary I think he could have found a way to indicate everything without narrating
Hell yes. It would've been different if he began the film with the narration, but throwing in the narration randomly in the middle of the film turned a "real story" into a "bedtime story." Awful decision.
Why the heck did I watch this before my usual afternoon coffee?
The guitar that John Ruth breaks in this scene was a real antique martin flat top that came from a museum and it was worth about 50 grand and he didn't know it they was supposed to trade it out for a prop and before he was warned he broke it ! The whole set cringed that knew what it was worth!Kurt Russel was upset after he was told ! SMH
To this day I have no idea why they thought a $50k Martin is a realistic guitar to be sitting in a corner collecting dust in the first place

@@lifescansdarkly because the guitar is from that era... back in the 1870s, it wasn’t worth 50 grand, more like 20 bucks... if that. Martin guitars were always high quality but they weren’t well known until the 20th century.

Nice Tarantino movie. His first one in which there isn't just excessive violence, bloodshed and death, but also everyone without exception dies miserably ever after in the end.

Throwing up gallons of blood, as you shit out your entire gastrointestinal system along with another two gallons of blood has to be the absolute fucking worse way to die. And it’s just the vomiting blood and shitting blood; they’re in straight agony for minutes at a time before keeling over into the warm pile of shit-blood-vomitus they expelled.
As brutal as this scene was, I couldn't help but think of the vomit scenes from family guy, lol. 😄😄😄😂😂😂😂
