It is by far my favorite Tarantino movie ever. I love it more than all other 8 Tarantino movies combined. Just my opinion but I think He and his crew did their best work on this movie.
I never understood why this film got so much hate, I always felt it was very entertaining and the performances were amazing. It was a crime that Goggins wasn’t nominated for an Oscar
I really liked the movie too. The problem is most people now a days don't have the attention span for a 3 hr movie. If the titanic came out today it would be criticized endlessly for it's runtime being too long.
People who say this movie is boring don’t truly understand how to pay attention to dialogue. IMO this is the best Tarantino movie ever made. Tarantino, the crew, and the cast did such a good job working on The Hateful Eight
The ones getting bored like action films, can bet on that....Mr myself love action-comedy films....but Once in a while I like to watch some normal films/dramas...Tarantino's is best for that...

My friend and I drove 6 hours away in an ice storm to another city to watch this during the road show run. Truly the best way to watch it and it really surprises me that people think this is a forgettable film. It's not perfect or his best but I would still say it's great.

I fail to understand how people consider this movie a major step back in Tarantino's filmography. This film is a masterpiece and highly underrated. It has great tension, great dialogue, great humor, and great suspense from beginning to end. I love The Hateful Eight a bunch and I have always considered it one of Tarantino's best works. I loved this film, it’s the kind of movie that you watch on a beautiful spring weekend and get lost in the dialogue, the cinematography and the acting. It’s Tarantinos most “stage play” film and would work very well on the stage too.
My favorite QT movie. There's just something indulgent about its slow pace and deliberate lack of focus. It's almost the anti-movie, and I love it for that.
Me and my dad got lucky. I found out that the 70mm he used was perfect for us. Because our local imax theater is one of the few in the states that has a 70mm projector. So we actually seen this film the way Quentin wanted us too.
This movie was quite a gem, I've watched it several times, and for a movie to fall on my rewatch list is an accomplishment 😂 I had no idea the "hate" around it, guess many out there would rather watch another regurgitated movie than true art!
I'm surprised that someone think it's his "lesser" or "worst" movie. I enjoyed it way more than I did Django or even Basterds, it's much more rewatchable imo, the cast is great, the atmosphere is superb. One problem I noticed is that tension oftentimes is very quickly relieved by irony or some gag, but other than that it's a really immersive movie. Also I'm surprised to learn that the whole thing took less than one year to film and edit, with all the complications and difficulties around it.
The movie was great. Not sure what JoBlo is smoking. I understand if it was one of those where critics rate it low and audience high, but both critics and audience loved this.
If Hateful Eight is his "worst", then his worst might as well the "best" for other director. Hateful Eight is amazing. Trust me when I say that in 50 years, it will be regarded as aesthetically important. It will be appreciated by the future generation
It's a feature length character driven, chamber piece, close quarters bottle episode in 70mm. This could be a Broadway production or off Hollywood play in Burbank. It's his most dialogue driven piece since Reservoir Dogs. This movie is the lipman test that separates Tarantino Tourists from true Tarantino heads.
The hateful eight wasn't negatively received at release I just feel like it went under the radar but I feel that was mainly because of Django Unchained being such a huge hit
While it is not my favourite Tarantino Film, I thought it was better than some of his other Films. Much more preferred it to Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and I also feel it was better than Django as that Film felt very self indulgent when it came to his style, like he was trying to cram in as many of his troupes as possible.
I was shocked watching this movie because it flew under my radar which was weird for a Tarantino film, also the movie was excellent, one of his best for sure. Not sure why it was under-recognized, pretty sure it had nothing to do with him hating cops or being a "misogynist" though. Maybe because the scale wasn't as large compared to his other works? Django is an entire world, same with Bastards and even Once upon a time. Hateful 8 takes place all inside a cabin but to me the entire vibe of the movie felt very comfortable, like you're actually there drinking coffee during a blizzard. And the story was extremely well paced, dialogue was clever and witty, acting was phenomenal (Especially Walton Goggins). Each character was so intriguing as to be almost comical, like the movie is a satire on the mystery genre.
Please can somebody tell me the name of the movie clip shown in the time frame of 10:01 to 10:03. It looks comedy film but I just wanna know what's the deal with the two couples handling their businesses together in the same room. It's kinda hilarious if you ask me. So please does anybody knows the name of the movie?
Me and two other friends went to see it when it premiered in my country and it was one of the best experiences at the cinema. The theater was packed, the only thing that bothered me is that there wasn't an intermission in my screening, and by the halfway point I was dying to go to the bathroom, but I managed to remain in my seat 😂
I don't get why this movie isn't up there with Django, and the rest. This is one of my top movies of all time I love the dialog and interaction between characters
The thing is QT's filmmography overshadows his lesser known movies, like with every Pulp fiction you have a Jackie Brown, with every Kill Bill you have your Death Proof & with every Django Unchained you have your Hateful 8
This movie rules, maybe not top-tier Tarantino but even his worst movie is better than most people’s best. Everything about this movie ranges from great to incredible
I like this movie more than Django Unchained actually. It's sort of a throw back to Reservoir Dogs in that it's about a group of people stuck in one location who all hate and don't trust one another
Tarantino inspiration was his own Reservoir Dogs and John Carpenter The Thing none of the characters trust each and someone is not who they say they are
We could SO get a badass sequel. Let's say that the Domingo Gang was actually not joking and actually did have more gang members waiting at Red Rock....That could be an awesome sequel if they take it to Red Rock with the other very much alive gang members terrorizing the town. We all know that Tarantino would put together another amazing cast for it. I would freaking love if Chris Mannix survived the first movie...Just call the movie "Red Rock". I'd go see it LOL
I don't think this was a bad movie, but it was certainly a hard film to watch. I got the DVD through my Netflix subscription, and NOBODY in my home wanted to watch it with me past the first few minutes. My sister and her fiance stayed for maybe ten minutes between then. My wife trailed into the room during the guitar scene, but I was the only person who watched it from beginning to end. Even having watched it, I'm hard-pressed to give it another viewing because the characters are all thoroughly despicable; while the story is engaging, it's not something that cries out for repeat viewing like THE TERMINATOR, THE LAST BOY SCOUT, THE GODFATHER, DEMON KNIGHT, ALIENS, or THE PROPHECY do for me.
It's always cool to hear other people's opinions on things. I was the exact opposite I loved this movie I was glued to my seat the whole time. I saw it twice and now I'm itching to see it a 3rd time.
@todo5183 I think perhaps I was too negative the first time. The film is beautiful. I really mean that. It's gorgeous. From the bone-chilling snow at the outset to the gruesome bloodshed--even the poison-induced vomiting--it's all captivating. The characters are each compelling in a myriad of ugly (and rarely noble) ways. The motivations are relatively straightforward, so it's a matter of, "how will these people interact, and who will survive?" The film has great bathos and pathos, and even without a protagonist or a hero, it felt cathartic to finish. I was sad none of my family wanted to complete the experience with me.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. Wonderful story. Wonderful dialogue. Maybe it’s just me. I watched this movie on the big tv in my living room late at night in the middle of a snow storm in Tennessee. Smoked out. I felt every sentence and coldness lol. Amazing film.
This movie was atrocious. I hated it and just wanted all the obnoxious characters to die. I literally got up after an hour in the theater to go look at popcorn and candy because it was more entertaining.
it was an incredible movie... brutal.. in every way possible... Russel, Jackson, absolutely nail it... no clue why this was trashed.. its in insanely good movie.. and one of several Russel did that had Blood basically as a costar in the entire movie. (Bone tomahawk.. omg.. that movie.... wow...go watch it if you havent.. )..
Hateful Eight is one of my most favorite movies of all time! - Reservoir Dogs of course, True Romance, Apocalypse Now Redux, The Conversation, Idiocracy and many more! - Still, whenever I need to watch a movie, whatever reason, Hateful Eight is my first go to. Best movie of all time imo.
Django was simply too great. Like there will never be a movie like Inglorious Bastards again, I like Hitler parodies and I find the time interesting despite the horrors, but any movie remotely in that setting will have to compare to IB. But H8 was a good movie. Maybe a little too long for some, but this matches the theme very well in the end. A classic Western and a classic QT movie. He is one of the few that is intelligent enough with real balls to speak about slavery and US Apartheid. Many try especially today, but they can not hold the proverbial candle... And Hateful 8 was, as it seems to be in the mind of audiences, "more of the same".(When in reality it was an entirely different movie)
I have tried, on more occasions than I care to admit, watching The Hateful Eight. Mind you, I have absolutely no problem or qualms about investing several hours into a film, being something I quite enjoy. But, for some reason or another, I cannot get through this one in particular. I love all of Tarantino's other works, specifically Jackie Brown. This one...I dunno. I'm sure if I forced myself to sit down and get through it, I would find at least a few interesting and/or memorable moments.
One of my favourite movies. Maybe my favourite QT movie. That said I "hated" my first viewing. Thought it was slow and hoping it would getting going to the good stuff. Many years later I revisited understanding its pace beforehand made me appreciate and chew up every scene just for the acting. Might go watch it tonight!!
Very similar experience. I kept waiting for the typical "good parts" and found myself getting bored but after watching it I couldn't overcome this feeling of wanting to watch it again and when I did it made me appreciate all the fantastic dialog and really soak in the immersive setting.
This one is actually one of my favourite, if not the favourite Tarantino movie. Because it's so slow and because of its dialogues. Closing the characters in the haberdashery gives the actors a chance to shine. It's Tarantino in a nutshell: just talk, talk, talk.
It was pretty entertaining as always, but the self-parody is a good word to describe my feeling about this one and Django. He can't seem to end them in a non self-conscious way, he seems to think more about ending them in a Tarantino way, with the typical tongue-in-cheek violently happy and cynical tone, rather than writing a good ending that serves the story. The difference is that Django was much more memorable.
I've watched this movie probably 5 times in 2 years. Including the last 2 times as the 4 part extended series on netflix. This is literally right up there with pulp fiction for me. I love this movie!!!!
I went to see this movie in, then, one of the few big theater left in my city. I don't know if it was because of the color grading or the theater's projection bulb was dim, but my first impression was that the screen didn't looked bright enough. Also, the theater was extra cold from the A/C and not many people in the seats, which kinda added to the experience.
Love this film. Can't say there isn't a Tarantino film I don't like. It is awesome with a great ending. "You only need to hang mean bastards, but mean bastards you need to hang!" Love it!
This is actually the Tarantino movie I revisit most often.

no clue why this was trashed.. its in insanely good movie.. and one of several Russel did that had Blood basically as a costar in the entire movie. (Bone tomahawk.. omg.. that movie.... wow...go watch it if you havent.. )..
My favorite movie ever! I can recite all the dialogues to this day.
Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Hateful 8. Thats his top 3 by my ruler.
Bro what is going on in 10:02 ???
Halls & oats 'Fk me in the as because I love jesus' music video is the censored answer
Ennio Morricone took home the Oscar for Best Original Score, after he was nominated 5 times in 30 years
Deservingly
I love how Kurt Russell smashed the 40K guitar... Seems like something only Geraldo Revera would do...
Trust us, once you get to the middle part, it gets insane.
@@molasorrosalom4846 thanks! My plan is to set aside some time aside to watch this weekend...finally. Haha
Better than Once upon a time in Hollywood.
Miles better. Hollywood people are very weird strange set of humans… I’ll never understand the hate for this movie
❤this film, Hope QT makes it into a live play
The Roadshow version is the only one I have seen and it was fantastic. And yes I still have my program.
I can watch this movie 100 times😊
I remember cutting those rushes from Gunsmoke at film school. 😂😂
The movie indeed left me feeling “WTF” all day, but in a good way. It was shocking!
I love this film and all the stories behind it.
Love this film. Can't say there isn't a Tarantino film I don't like. It is awesome with a great ending. "You only need to hang mean bastards, but mean bastards you need to hang!" Love it!
You lost me with all those negatives. Can’t say there isn’t one I don’t like. Does that mean there is one you don’t like ?😵💫
This is my favorite QT film
I wish I could go back and watch this movie for the first time again.
Jesus Christ, the entire movie was practically a carbon copy of Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, only with guns!
