Tarantino is one of the last great filmmakers that havent got too old. All the actors he employs have that realness and talent with their dialogue. He has a great eye for acting and talent in general. What a great movie wow. First time I saw it, I was speechless. Just like pulp fiction. Tarantino is a pure genius.
@Revolver I'm just a movie buff but can't think of many other filmmakers that write, direct, edit, produce, and sometimes star in their own projects for as long and as successfully as he has without having to sell out to a studio and make some embarrassing piece of crap, just to make the films they really want to. Tarantino is like the only 1, and he's done it for 30 years and never missed a beat. Some of his films were better than others but wouldn't call any of them flops. They will be studied and amazed over for years to come, I'm sure. Nothing overrated about that.
@@jandro8370 He basically copies other filmmakers. He pays homage to his favourite directors. He doesn't really come up with anything original and he's running out of ideas.
@redd definitely i keep an eye on them. Goddard's Cabin in the woods is very underrated. He wrote and directed and it was nice twist on that genre. The hot fuzz and Shaun of the dead are 2 excellent comedies as well from Wright. Another filmmaker I really watch for is Ari Aster. One of my favorite up and coming filmmakers today.
Tarantino has never made a bad movie. Hollywood needs more directors with his same passion. The cringy shit that Hollywood puts out nowadays makes me wanna puke.

'The Hateful Eight' is really a GEM of a movie. I've watched it multiple times and my appreciation is deepened with each viewing. I love your vision, Quentin. I can't wait for the next release.
I went to the theater 3 times to see it in 70MM and two more times in regular because the projector wasn't working. It holds a special place in my heart top five QT movies.
I believe it to be for the same reason Bladerunner 2049 was not a box office hit. It’s a slower, drawn out storyline. Regardless of it’s complexity and overall magnificence, most people are interested in a action “Marvel style movie.” I saw The Verdict with Paul Newman last night and am honestly surprised at how different movies were back then.. in a really good way.
its because of how modern audiences have short attention spans. we live in the age of social media and instant gratitude. look at movie trailers today. its like a machine gun flash bang edit with each clip being no longer than 3 seconds. im not even that old but I feel like im having a heart attack by the time the trailers are done. Same reason trailers literally give the entire plot away. its not only a shame but its quite frightening to think of the trajectory this is heading. in 20 years entire movies will be like these trailers, well they almost already are. they cant even hold a camera on someone as they deliver lines. have to cut back and forth 30 times between actors. well paced and beautiful films are gone
I'm a lifelong Tarantino fan and was incredibly lucky to be working at RED Digital when The Hateful Eight was filmed at their studio in Hollywood. Tarantino brought in massive air conditioning trucks, parked on the street all around the outside of the the studio, to keep the set extremely cold. I got to walk around the massive cabin they built inside the largest sound stage at the studio. I got to witness Madsen, Dern, Roth, Goggins, Russell, and Tatum casually standing around, in costume, just chatting it up. When filming completed, I was able to buy a ton of memorabilia from the set, including a huge pair of snowshoes. I consider myself insanely lucky.
Glad I got to see this movie opening night in its original 70 millimeter format in a mostly empty theater, it was a cinematic experience I’ll never forget
The greatest movie I've ever watched. I've seen this movie so many times that I can recite the dialogues line by line along with the characters. All of them.

One of the best theatrical experience I've had, saw the very last showing of the Hateful 8 at the Dome. By then, the reel seems have developed plenty of "character" and that definitely added to the experience vs. the latest digital projection ultra 12K whatever.
I get the idea that Christoph Waltz was who Quentin really wanted for the Mobray character. Why do I say that? Because Tim Roth speaks just like Waltz would in that role.
Christoph Waltz doesnt have an english accent, also Mobray changes his accent as soon as his act drops, he slips from a posh accent into a very gritty cockney like accent
if Quentin actually said he only referenced 2 movies in the Hateful Eight, he was missing something...that many of the scenes come almost directly from "The Great Silence" directed by Sergio Corbucci. The bounty hunters and sheriff all together in a stage during a snowstorm is almost completely taken from this movie shot by shot! there's now way he couldn't be referencing it in the Hateful Eight since he clearly loves spaghetti westerns and loves Corbucci!! somebody needs to get their facts straight!

Otherwise, one of the best unexpected part was Warren breaking the priceless 100 year old guitar that freaked out Daisy!!!
Upon first watch, this was easily my favorite Tarantino film. That being said, I think I has some of the worst rewatchability of any of his films, because the suspense and lack of knowing who’s who the first time is so crucial. I still absolutely love it, and I think it’s the greatest example of Tarantino’s ability to make dialogue truly and utterly intoxicating to hear
I was fortunate to see all the Leone films in the theater on initial release in Arizona. For "The Hateful Eight", Mrs. Cuss and I saw the extended 70mm version at the Cine Capri in Scottsdale, and the audience loved it. They handed out little booklets with the show.
I am such a WUSS!!! Quentin’s “geniusness” is unparalleled… As a Senior over the age of 70, I ALWAYS have to rewatch his movies multiple times in order to get the “gist” of his creativity & humor!!! I grew up in the world of The Ten Commandments, Cat Ballou, Operation Petticoat, The Fly (original), The Alamo (John Wayne), The Pink Panther, The Manchurian Candidate, etc… At least there’s some hope for me, right??? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love that he doesn’t back away from the weirdo comment. His quirks are what make both him, and all his films great. Truly a man with vision and passion.

Top 3 Tarentino movie in my book. Top 25 for me all time......for me that is.
8:34 Hey John Denver, nice Canadian tuxedo 😂
This movie is by far the best thing he’s ever done. I will never understand RUclips film critics. Ever
10:39 Howard Stern is a joke now but man that Neumann TLM103 still makes his voice sound great
Most rewatchable movie ever.
Quentin’s “geniusness” is unparalleled…
As a Senior over the age of 70, I ALWAYS have to rewatch his movies multiple times in order to get the “gist” of his creativity & humor!!!
I grew up in the world of The Ten Commandments, Cat Ballou, Operation Petticoat, The Fly (original), The Alamo (John Wayne), The Pink Panther, The Manchurian Candidate, etc…
At least there’s some hope for me, right???
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I subscribed after only watching 6 minutes of this video. Good work sir 🤙🏾
I love that he doesn’t back away from the weirdo comment. His quirks are what make both him, and all his films great. Truly a man with vision and passion.
Heightful 8 is my favorite Quentin movie, and up there in my top 10 overall favorite movies.
Thank you for this video. Actually really enjoyed learning about this movie, it’s one of my favorites.
