For my 18th birthday, I was in Montréal and we ordered a load of chicken from Ma Poule Mouillé, then had a picnic in Parc La Fontaine and lots of family came, that is a very fond memory of mine.
Some of the portuguese restaurants do this thing where instead of french fries, they'll fry a full potato and then slice it really thin when it's done. Looks like potato chips, but tastes soooo good. Crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside.
The guy who picked Coco Rico as his favourite doesn't know good chicken, either. Charcoal grilled is way better, and Coco Rico isn't the best rotisserie anyway. It's far too salty. They add seasoned salt at the counter before serving, which is overkill and tells me they don't know how to season properly when preparing it.
@@davedavid427 I prefer charcoal and wood BBQ to gas grills as well. I guess the best place for chicken is your house, then. We are all arriving with our plates, LOL! 🙂
For our non french speaking friends, fun fact #1 coco rico is cock-a-doodle -doo in french. Fun fact #2 a poule mouillée is the equivalent of calling someone chicken in english (a cowardly person). The mouillée part which means wet comes from how chickens act when wet from the rain i.e. embarrased, pathetic, etc. Obviously, in the case of the restaurant,it is a play on words.

My mouth is watering just looking at this video! 😋
I used to live in the Plateau back in the 90s, and I would eat at Coco Rico all the time.
It’s amizing
My God. And to think that in the future could be in that area. I love it and look forward for .montreal.
The plateau is a shithole these days.
Now I'm hungry!
seriously, it's the best thing ever
How the heck can people compare these places to Nando's, all these places are light years ahead.

As a child we use to say in French, last one in the water is a poule mouillé 😏😁 kinda like playing water tag
is Romado's permanently closed?
It appears so 😭
@@DiscoverMontréal damn, so I guess Ma Poule Mouilee is the spot now for Portuguese BBQ.
J'ai faim là 😍
RIP Romados :(
Tears 😭
It re-opened months later in 2021. Still going strong, still as delicious as ever.
Romado’s is the undisputed Champion
It's greasy, salty, and expensive.
Portugalia and Intermarché on Mt.Royal and Coloniale make the best chicken.
And Romados got temporarily shut down by inspectors for unsanitary conditions (rat droppings, amongst other things) - look it up.
@@jonathanrandall4140 are you kidding me!! No way. So Romados is closed??

It was three years ago.

@@jonathanrandall4140 well still the best chicken in Montreal my opinion. And I will go back regardless of what happened 3 years ago.
