As someone who lives in Quebec I have to tell you guys that the best poutine isn't found in the big cities, they're found in the small towns around it

they’re basically little mom and pop restaurants on the side of the highway when you’re going outside of Montreal
they serve great classic poutines, burgers, hot dogs etc.
and they are found in a lot of these little town around Montreal (and even in Montreal) like st jovite, st Jerome, st Adèle

I first heard about poutine over 7 years ago, and to this day I am still obsessed with this Canadia staple. It should also be noted that I live in Texas and have never seen poutine in person, I just watch way too many poutine related videos
I also live in Texas and I travelled to Montreal a couple years ago and went into one of these corner deli poutine pizza shops near the farmers market and I told the proprietor that this is the first poutine of my life so it's a lot of pressure it better be good. And after he served it to me he came and sat at the table with me and talked with me about how my experience was lol.... it was pretty good. I wish this dish was more widespread.
I definitely need to come up with an excuse to visit once travel is safe again! Glad to know a fellow Texan seems to think it is good.

They don't even have poutine outside of Canada. You can ask for fries with cheese and gravy, but a small Quebecois child cries himself to sleep every time you do.
@@AserHapi they don't even have poutine outside of Québec, I remember I stopped in Belleville on the way back to Montreal and I saw a place making "poutine" with nacho cheese, needless to say I got out of that town ASAP as it was obviously populated by a bunch of crazies.

Native Montrealer here. This video brought joy to my soul. I recognized just about every location. I think this is the first time I've seen a food show come do an episode about poutine and really get it right. You also highlighted the city beautifully. Well done!

As an ex-Montrealer may I say very well done! You correctly identified Belle Pros and Lafleur as the duds and hit up all the right places. Bonus points for starting at Green Spot and getting in Martin Picard’s heaven on a plate despite disqualifying it for cheating.
Depends on which Belle Pro you go to. The one I go on Sherbrooke in Tetraultville is really good but the one on Hochelaga isn't

There's a Portuguese chicken place right across the block from la Banquise called Ma Poule mouillée. They do an awesome poutine that includes their fire roasted chicken, sausage, and spicy piri piri sauce. If the place isn't on fire then its a great alternative to go to!

So good, but i think they had to stick to the classic for it to count. Poutine with chorizo is insane imvredible, prolly the best in the city. And dare I say, poutineville is pretty darn good too

Just in front of La Banquise, there's a portuguese restaurant called Ma Poule Mouillée and their poutine is incredible. The sauce, the crispy fries, the chicken, the chorizo and the cheese are to die for!

Wth I’ve never seen a white squirrel in my life, i had to go look it up😂😂😂😂 apparently they are really rare and uncommon, something like 1-2% or all squirrels are white!

I prefer well done fries. Very nice when the gravy soaks in to them and they still have texture.
So I went back and watched every episode of this series. I really like it. And in my opinion, it has earned you a top 3 place in the BA world. I hope you take this as the complement it is meant to be, but you stand on the pillar of greatness with Brad and Claire.......... Claire, of course my all time fav. Great job Delany!!!!!!!!!!
