When I was a boy in Chicago in the 1950s, the hot dogs from a food cart vendor at North Ave and Kedzie had cucumber slices, not a dill pickle spear. The last Chicago dog I had with cucumber slices was in about 1977 or 1978.

Lived in Chicago all my life and agree on Portillos hot dogs. But their Italian Beef is top notch.

My dad owns the Duck Inn great to see his business is striving, very proud of him.
Gene and judes, superdawg, Maxwell's street and Jim's are my absolute favourite go to places for hot dogs

Make sure to turn on monetization to collect ad revenue though. Good luck! Also look into door dash, they pay 23 dollars an hour in my area. Maybe that can help you get a good camera and editing software so you can bring in even more views.

Chicago hotdogs are a veggie lover’s dream... I love the crisp crunch of the onion, pickle, pepper, etc not to mention the tomato (a fruit)

I noticed in the ingredients list that Vienna brand hotdogs we’re not listed as a requirement. For me it has to be a Vienna dog or it’s not a Chicago dog. That is my prejudice! Good commentary im the video. An interesting watch.

Portillos is great, but I understand the criticisms. Everything else on their menu is to die for (cake shake and Italian beef all day). I was actually very glad superdawgs won it

I agree with most of what you said and how you ranked the dogs you had. There is one exception. The best example of the Chicago dog comes from the high school kids running the concession stand at the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The chop salad is pretty bomb too. But come on, Portillo's is all about that Italian beef. Sweet, Hot, and Wet
Portillos beef is good, the cake shake is great; the dogs are alright, for a chain. A lot of the local places do crispy crinkle cut fries with Merkt's cheddar.....that's the way to do it. It's like 2500 calories though.

When I lived by Wrigleyville there was a little place called Byron's Hotdogs. Was always perfect and they were always incredibly friendly. Check it out if you are up there for a game

Growing up, my summers revolved around family trips to Superdawg and Wolfy's. Next time you're in town, stop by Dog Haus. They're super nontraditional, but incredibly stellar!

My dad used to operate a hot-dog cart in downtown Chicago back in the 1950's. When I saw you take a bite out of a hot dog with ketchup I died a little inside.
