Even if he doesn’t pronounce everything correctly, he gets an A+ for effort and he always gives a thorough and fair critique of everything, bless Delany and his cholesterol
The USDA no longer considers dietary cholesterol a nutrient of concern as of 2015.
Just becuase yes it isn’t correct he was probably trying to respect culture
He was close, so he shouldn't feel güilty :)
The structure of the show really is what keeps me interested. Establishing what he enjoys and wants out of the food and that’s how he decides what’s best for HIM. Makes the show a lot more personal instead of a face just talking about how good the food is. It’s like following the host on his journey to pick his favorite places that serve his favorite food.
The naming aspect is nice too since he only ranks the top few but still makes them all special.
It's also very direct, to the point, and also fun. I may disagree with him in terms of what I prefer, but he makes it very clear what he is looking for so even if I disagree with him I certainly respect it.
Give this man a phd
San Francisco - pork buns
Miami - Cuban sandwich
New Orleans - jambalaya
Nah. Po Boys.
@@Janine.Najarian cubans come from tampa.
But apparently they've lost the magic in Tampa. At least that was Alton Brown's take after trying the recommended places in Tampa. They weren't bad Cuban sandwiches. Just not what he wanted/expected them to be.
@@nanoflower1 Baltimore: Crab cakes
Miami isn't really known for cubanos, I would argue our cuban restaurants are pretty bad. Except for fritas (a burger with ground chorizo), we have good fritas and those are cuban.
16:48 that transition from the hands noise to the music was smoooooth!!! Little details like that makes a difference for real
Love the show man, keep grinding
sivolt i agree lol that was sooooo satisfying
Give the editor a raise
Didnt even notice that, thank you!
its a Match L-cut, this editor definitely needs a raise
No one gonna talk about how cool the uncle is?
The lack of salsa being poured on these tacos when offered is giving me salsanxiety. Must. Try. Salsas.
Sarah - North Texas Gardening glad this was said because I was getting upset about the same thing. My first go to move is pouring salsa on it.
Same mistake with the wings episode with no blue cheese
he's judging the tacos on the merit of the taco alone. same with the wings.
Hell no, salsa does not belong on a breakfast taco! You trying to induce heartburn?
You can’t judge a breakfast taco by itself...the salsa is apart of the taco they shouldn’t be separated.
El Primo Tacos is #11, the one that didn't sign the release.
hes a hater too. good spot.
Yo Bon Appetit, I wanna see more of Alex eats it all!!!
Totally 😽🙏
You look like a clean Post Malone
Pre post malone
Shia Ladouche?
or just malone
MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
paola __ not even
Props to you, Alex. As an Austinite, I can confirm that not only did you hit almost all of the must stops, but you also got all of the right tacos for the "specialty." For anyone wondering, El Primo is the unnamed location.
Thinking of visiting Austin... what do I need to know? When I travel I like to get the local experience, not the tourist one.
@@racheldoane1492 Depends what you want to do.
@@racheldoane1492 would you like to throw prostitutes off a bridge?
"Maybe the first time I've had vegetables today..."
Potatoes: Am I a joke to you?
They are technically, but much like how people choose to, when cooking, consider tomato more of a vegetable, I think potatoes are more of a carb.
Woah are french fries vegatables? Look at me being all healthy all the time lol
Except potatoes are a Tuber/Root Starch not a vegetable...
Potatoes are a starch.
...and avocado is a fruit.
15:17 not saying he isn't entitled to his opinion but... He's got a lot of balls laying into the tacos feet away from the dude cooking them.
Doesn't really take balls, if someone gets upset over that then they dont need to be in the food industry
They didn't want to disclose their location because their tacos suck
@@boldbileg exactly what i was gonna say XD
A lot of balls? Every single dinner critiques food at every single joint every single time. As a chef you want the feedback. How else would you improve?
How tf does he eat all this and not die
MonkeyDown11 he’s immortal
@MonkeyDown11 He probably doesn’t finish every taco
Hot yoga.
@@colourblind3073 still you watch him eat atleast half of each on plus like little sides... its weird, I wont lie
Probably smokes weed
Lol you didn't get a release form at the mystery joint because they knew they were turning out crappy food and didn't want to get hate from the internet. I think you need to change the way your doing business if your not willing to be featured by a company as big as Bon Appétit.
SquidTheSid Have you been there? And is the above comment correct in that they sell crappy food?
SquidTheSid You nailed the golden rule. It applies to all local food around the world.
My friends, we dont go to el primo (which you are correct in guessing) for breakfast tacos. Its all about the meat. That being said, el primo is still not the best albeit very good, however it gained lots of notoriety from Bourdain's No Reservations. They have plenty of experience with shows asking them to be featured and I am sure they ahve their own reasons for not being cool with it all the time.
In addition to the mystery joint there was one place that didn't even get into the video; likely because they wouldn't allow it; I wonder what place that was? I'm guessing Torchy's? Otherwise, I'm not sure how he would have overlooked Torchy's.
Torchy's is on the written article, so you are correct on your answer there. I would have liked to hear his overview of it though - not because I've been there, but because I enjoy his descriptions. Having a culinary arts background myself, I like how he breaks it down.
These shows are great. I've never even heard of a Chicago hot dog or a breakfast taco before, so it's really interesting. Hopefully you make more of these with tasty looking American treats.
Hey my guy you forgot my Grandma's house on S 1st street and Oltorf. Just letting you know she makes the best.
I'm visiting next week
Jesse Gutierrez tacorrido is right there as well and very good, though not as good as a legit abuela
@@evoandy true
I have never wanted a breakfast taco in my life more than I do right now
Does this guy fall into month-long food comas in between episodes?
Dan Gorry a I was thinking halfway through the video.... That's a loooot of food
During which he would need to be shipped to the next location just to wake up and do it all again.
For real. I start to feel uncomfortable for him midway through every one of these episodes.
yeah, I could see eating a few bites of each taco to get the flavor of them but he seems to eat them all. That's a LOT of food in one day.
Nah man just spark up the you know what and you goldie. Now get back out there champ.
Uncle and Nephew boarding together. Awesomeness.
These shows hit a lot of marks, local, historical and inside knowledge, humour, honest reviews,...more please.
Bon Appétit just seems like such a cool place to work!
Buzzfeed still exists because they applied click bait to pay people hopefully this org pays people.
This comment aged well.

You know how Americans giggle at people with "silly" accents? As a Spaniard I thoroughly enjoy Americans making up how stuff in spanish is pronounced without a moment of hesitation. The confidence is commendable.
Sometimes in the US it is considered pretentious to dote too thoroughly on foreign words. Considering how much of English is borrowed from other languages and how many cuisines and cultures are represented in the US, it can be difficult to know what to casually anglify and what to give your best effort. My favorite example is hors d’oeuvres. We have borrowed this term from French, which we pronounce “or-dervs”, when the real pronunciation is “or-duvruh” (including vowel sounds that don’t exist in English). It would seem very out of the ordinary to pronounce it in proper French when speaking with other Americans.
Jonathon Ross I get it, that's the case pretty much here in Spain. People pronounce English words badly enough to sound like they're hardly trying, but still have that touch. Ah, culture, I love you so.
@Jonathon Ross
Another example: pronouncing "croissant" correctly is a meme now. It's so out of a place saying croissant right, that Americans will laugh at you. Or really anything French. At least Spanish words won't usually get you any funny looks. Actually, mispronouncing simple things like "tortilla" is likely to elicit a chuckle in most of the US.
“Carne güisada”
Koko I sense sarcasm
I am a displaced Texan, and man do I miss breakfast tacos! Austin's are good, but San Antonio's are better.
Yea buddy
I almost hate how good he is at improving menu item names like that, it's so effortless and true lol
Yeah he got me with the Taco-The-Town.
Rosita’s Al Pastor! Cool. This is such an awesome series. Hot dogs in Chicago; cheesesteaks in Philadelphia and now tacos in Austin. Delicious food from iconic joints and Alex is a dang good host. 👍
he needs to do banh mi in orange county, ca. kinda different but it'd be good for the series
+Austin Do That would be a good one and yes different indeed which makes it even more cool. It may be cliche but I would love to see pizza by the slice in NYC.
Tosh T yes we need pizza next
Well theres the problem. What location? Chicago has the best pies. New york has a GREAT slice. So which would it be?
I really enjoy his honesty. No sugar coating on any of the tacos.
Well done Alex. This is one of the best review shows I've seen in a while. Shout out to editing and cameraman.
I was born and raised in this area but left Texas in my early 20s. I can’t tell you how much I miss good breakfast tacos! 😭
26 tacos in 10 hours? Taco Tuesday is followed by Regretful Taco Repercussions Wednesday.
His poor toilet!
Its not real tacos its eggs and bacon he is fine
You cant handle your tacos?
I wonder if they actually spread them all out over a few days!? (the magic of editing/wearing the same clothes)
Because 26 tacos in two days doesnt sound good.
Even when he went to veracruz around the 8 minute mark he said it was his first portion of vegetables. So they edited out of order of when they recorded, or they did it in more then 10 hours
Honestly don't understand all these bathroom jokes about tex mex.
When I first saw this series I rolled my eyes at watching a dude eat, but Alex is legit a good host, seems to stay non biased and so far I’ve watched him eat a lot of food. Nice job.
I’m a native Texan and currently stationed overseas. I might be thousands of miles away but I come here to watch videos of food from my beloved Lone Star State, and I never leave disappointed. God Bless Texas, it’s Texans, and our cherished chow. :)
Wow Delany and his uncle skateboarding together is soooo pure
I've actually been waiting for this for a while now! Like I'm actually more excited for this episode than I probably should be! I just loved the previous ones!
This is one of the best series on this channel. Love ya, Alex!
This series is so great. Wish they would do more
We need more of this show. This guy is a great web show host.
Bon Appétit. Clap clap clap, you guys are killing the game, its amazing, so much quality content and the consistency of uploads lately, wow. Big ups guys! :D
This is great. You missed one key thing though. Salsa verde, man. Critical component.
Cheese curds in Wisconsin! Fried vs fresh at various places perhaps? Love this series so much!
I love that this man hit all the legit spots! ❤️ LOVE YOU!
Growing up in Texas “carne GWEEsada” killed me
Rio Bonestele try being from Mexico itself and seeing people eat a “taco” on a flour tortilla....
@@RM-wg7wu Corn is harder to cultivate in the northern areas of Mexico, and it's bordering states so people just adapted to what was available.
@@Salomon_G lol I'm referring to when dishes and cuisines were first introduced (aka a long time ago). Of course nowadays anything is easily accessible.
Ugh thank you I was looking for this comment. I couldn't stop mimicking him lol
How should it be pronounced?
Thanks for this culinary tour of Austin! Paco's Tacos is an AMAZING taco joint you've missed.
Dude hit the nail on the head. I've been to most of those places and Al Pastor for 20+ years and it has always been my favorite.
This episode makes my mouth water. I love breakfast tacos
These videos are always great. Very good break down of what you are looking for.
this series is dope asf , i think one of the next videos to do next is the best street tacos from L.A.
The golden hour at the second spot looks so nice on Delaney and also on those tacos
just tried that valentina's taco today, it was so good I called my family in california to talk to them about it
I don't know how you do it, man. I already feel full watching you, and you're only at taco spot number 4.
Haha!
Lemons I got full at spot number 2 haha
Yea I wish they wouldn't show him eating at every place. I start to feel uncomfortable for him midway through each episode.
One of the best series on this channel next to Claire's Gourmet recreations. Keep these up!
Please make more, this is the best series.
Love these videos (eating a lot of something in a certain time)! Keep them coming!
Pretty sure the mystery one was El Primo. And one that you missed and is still under the radar is Taquero Vaquero. Best taco I've had in town. Get the Al Pastor.
That dog is sooo cute!
There were some great ideas for making burritos at home. Maybe cook the bell pepper???
This video, along with Chip and Joanna, make me want to move to Texas.
That Holyfield taco with the brisket looked amazing. And the crew in the taco truck making their own tortilla's, what a fantastic crew. Great review, great video. GREAT food.
can’t get enough of this series
very nice series. really digging these
Love this video. I've been a sub of BA for a while, I put Alex into my top 10 host list. ( Multiple food channel list) Thanks for the great work.
Who else is in your top 10 host list?
Jeff Ward ....ya, who else is on the top 10???
I wanna know this list too.
I love how he ends each of these episodes with the acknowledgement that the opinions are his own.
Derek Masuda I don’t. Goes without saying.
Had that Real Deal when I was there in February. Definitely deserving of the best specialty. SO GOOD!
This channel really needs more of Alex
Great episode as always! You should do Pizza in New York next!
Another amazing episode 👏🏽👏🏽. Now I want tacos 😩.
I love that you showed north door! My boyfriend was a manager there. It’s an awesome place! If you want quality food you should try Justine’s their cheese plate is amazing! I miss Austin so much. I lived there for 4 years until I moved back home to Nashville! You should come here soon and try our Nashville hot chicken!
Thanks for showcasing my awesome city!! Come and visit ya'll, JUST DONT MOVE HERE
i hope they bring this show back dude :(
Hey more of this series please!!
I WANT MORE OF THESE PLEASE MAKE ANOTHER EPISODE.
As a Texan, the lack of Chorizo, egg, and cheese hurts me
I was really hoping to see some good barbacoa too.... it’s a shame.
forgot the best part. With lots of avocado salsa verde!!!
Same. Barbacoa, chorizo, and even the simple bean and cheese. 🤷🏼♀️
I agree but remember it's west coast austin
@@missnerdynurse5923 yep
I love this guy and this series
Yo, I have no idea how you can eat and more importantly *finish* that many tacos in a single day!! I could probably eat 10, maybe, but I'm pretty sure by the time I reached that brisket taco I would've been done. That said, as always your videos are outstanding, have a sense of urgency, and a vibe that makes me feel like I'm there.
Cheers!
8:17 that walking bird. :D
"We are going with the "otto" named after a guy named Otto"
makes sense
I was waiting for the Tyson's Tacos. Their Burnt Ends taco and Diablo Shrimp tacos are the best. I haven't had a decent taco since I left Texas
Love these series!
I’d love for him to hit my favorite place in my town. The thing is, it’s such a small town. We’ve got like 4 restaurants, maybe a couple thousand people at most. But we have the most amazing coffee shop that serves amazing food, with daily specials. And their ultimate breakfast burrito has stolen my heart
"woah"
that's the sound of a good taco
That is a cool uncle. 😲
Incredible host- incredible concept- incredible food!!
quite possibly my fav video of all time? thanks vro
watching this made me miss Texas so much!! I need to leave the DMV ASAP
Yes! We are moving to S.A. in the spring! I am so excited to be leaving Maryland and being so close to Austin!
Im not surprised at all that he picked Rosita's, it's pretty badass--great chicken there too!
Love this series....truly...love to all
Please bring this show back.
You should have got Barbacoa tacos for breakfast.
Rocket Power barbacoa with big red on the side
I'm watching this while stuck at work, no lunch break for 2 hours, and hungover, why?
This is such a great show. I wish he'd come back to Chicago and do Italian beefs an deep dish
Great video! Thanks for the effort.
So happy you had a brisket tacos. Some of my favorite memories living there
No one gonna comment on how good Alex is at describing the food!?
Make more of these episodes!!!
I kind of love his mispronunciation of "guisada". I will start doing it his way... I guess I will be very judged since I'm a mexican living in Mexico.
Cynthia Gonzalez or just the fact that they are eating a “taco” on a tortilla de harina...
@@RM-wg7wu oh you mean like Northern Mexicans been doing since we set foot in these lands

Rosita’s Al Pastor is amazinggggggg
I’ve never actually had the breakfast but the al pastor are just the most delicious al pastor tacos in Austin. I go there every chance I get!!!
😂I feel dumb the entire time I was wondering what happened to the other 13 places until I remembered you ate 2 tacos at every place.
