Love this video!! Just got a juvenile & been searching for a lot of info. I keep seeing no meal worms but that's what the pet store gave me ( throwing out now). Thank you!!
Thank you SO much for the great information. I've watched all your videos and I can see that you guys know what your doing. I'm getting a bearded dragon next Tuesday, and I've already picked it out. Can't Wait!
so very imformative! my dragon loves his hornworms..Iv never seen him run across his tank for greens like he jets once he sees a worm:p please keep posting videos:)
Hey guys/girls! just wanted to say i was glad to see you guys at Repticon Baltimore! You deffinently had the healthiest and best bred dragons at the show, sorry i couldnt purchase one when i spoke to ya but keep up the videos!!! love watching and maybe next time i will pick up a dragon from you guys!
Hi, love the videos! Our beardies eating has slowed down drastically over the past few months. He's 1 year old, 20" and 392g (from 400g). He had about 1 week of full brumation, and another week or two of off and on sleepiness. Now another month has passed, and he's still eating very little. He's super active, and is putting on alot of head bobbing displays. He's had about 15 dubia and 10 supers in about a month...along with a few bites of greens a day. New reptisun10 tube, repashy cal+.
very nice videos! we have two bearded dragons one male and one female. Four weeks ago our male stopped eating bugs. He was eating kale then slowing he stopped. I found this group on Facebook asked them questions even sent picture of dragon. They told me not to worry. My only regret was not following my gut feeling in getting my dragon help. I asked several times and even suggested i was going to make a vet appointment. They said they didn't feel that i needed to take him to vet. I did take him to the vet. They decide to do blood work and gave him worm medicine. Also gave us critical care food to start feeding him. He weighed 377 grams but was dehydrated. We got fecal test back and showed he had pinworms which we needed different meds for. However blood work was back too. They showed that he is anemic, white bloods cell count is low and his sugar level is 1,000, when it should be 300. Told us they thought he may have stomach cancer. We cried he is our baby! We refuse to give up. I'm praying that the stress of pinworms and not eating are causing his levels to be off. Don't know if that is possible. We gave the first dose of pinworm medicine on the 2nd of Sept. he will get it again in 14 days. Could this be pinworm related or our we dealing with stomach cancer? He is is not attempting to eat on his own yet but is awake a little more. Praying he gets through this. Ashamed of my self for not listening to my heart before he got this bad.
Sorry to hear about your dragon Patricia. Let's just hope that the pinworm medication takes care of everything and he gets back to eating. Keep him hydrated.
Thx for the reply. Poops are good, but days between as expected with the amount he's eating. We did a fecal right before brumating, and it was clear. Can's say enough good things about this video series. Great information!
I didn’t know that I could feed my beardy wheat grass. Nowhere have I read anything about the nutrition of wheat grass for beardys. That’s good to know. This vlog was very informative! Thank u!
fantastic video guys! i have been interested in reptiles for a very long time, we had bearded dragons, blue tongue lizards, water dragons and turtles at the zoo i was working at and have always thought about getting my own beardie. this video was extremely helpful, keep it up :)
Hey Lisa! Yes, that was a show we did in Myrtle Beach, SC a couple of years ago. We were excited to get our 1/2 second. Thought we were the only ones to see it! LOL
i have 2 adult males i generally give mine kale and mix it with nature zones bites for bearded dragons once a day in the morning. my bigger one really loves the kale and the younger one really likes the nature zone bites cause there softer food. neither really ever liked pellets much. i also have flukers medley treats i mix in there sometimes to
Your videos are great thank you! I'm living in Indonesia and planning to get a baby dragon in the next couple months.. You're right there are conflicting views out there and i found this video really helpful. :)
I was just reading about the dangers of Dragons becoming addicted to mealworms, do you know if there's any truth to this? I was planning to feed mainly cockroaches, as there's an abundance of them here.. along with local fruits (papaya, etc) and greens. Would that be OK?
In a couple weeks i will be inheriting my sisters full grown adult, shes so busy now she doesnt feel like she has enough time to give him the proper attention he deserves. ive had other reptiles in the past, but im just trying to learn as much as possible. I love how friendly they are.
u guys r great!! i feel the same way i feed my adult dragons more greens less protein and hydration is very important to them as well,i give my dragons baths every other day for just 5 or 10 minutes unless their in brumation also when my dragons r slowing down for the winter i'll mix rep-cal juvenile pellets a few times a week with their greens b/c it haves less protein in it l love the show
They wouldn't be much of a snuggle partner. We moved some cages around to film video and they are seeing dragons they normally do not see and wanted to breed.
Your videos are awsome, alot of essential info. I'm learning so much watching your videos. I have a baby bearded dragon thats 1 1/2 months and I'm not sure when I should start feeding it veggies? How should I feed it and how much?
I'm certainly no expert, but I tend to agree that 40+ crickets a day is an outrageous amount. Yes, a bearded dragon will feast on them, but like humans, variety is best.
I would recommend backing off the animal protein and get them eating their greens. They will always choose moving insects/worms over plants and pellets at that age. Especially if the breeder did not offer a lot of plant protein and pellets.
You've actually given me hope that I can add a beardie to my collection. I keep reading how you need to feed juvenile bearded dragons 3-5 times a day and there's no way I can keep up with that schedule with work and other responsibilities. For a juvenile, could I leave pellets in all day, put greens in before work, and feed insects in the evening as long as I leave a few hours with the heat and UV on for digestion? Also, given my busy schedule, would I be best looking for a yearling that doesn't require as much feeding? I really would like to grow one from a young age though. Thank you
Micah, greens are cheap. You can always grow your own too. You can start your own dubia colony and raise your own feeders for next to nothing. Lots of options! Good luck!
I'm getting baby beardie in a few weeks an I wanted to know how many days should I put D3 on the crickets and then how many days with the calcium with out D3 on the crickets?
Someone please help ... I am getting a "baby" bearded dragon do I have to feed him/her the pellets right away or can I wait intill he/she gets a little older
I picked up some spring mix after watching this video and then had many of my forum members tell me many of those lettuces shoudlnt be given? what is so great about the spring mix that you give it to all your dragons?
my dragon Parunga eats a lot of veggies I've noticed he would rather eat like lettuce and berries and such over everything else. he's 10 years old so I've had him for a long time. I usually cycle through all of this but he has little care to none for crickets and he loves super worms. how can I have him eat more crickets? IDW him always looking for super worms when it's meal time but I mist him as well twice a day and I give him water in his dish once a day. he's not fat and has tons of energy it's just around me the worms are a little pricey so I'm trying to not have to keep purchasing them as frequently as I am. lol.
At what age is a bearded dragon considered an adult? I am getting an adult bearded dragon soon and I just want to make sure I have things right. So Vegetables 7 days a week, insects 2 days a week, and the pellets 5 days a week when insects aren't fed? along with multivitamins once a week, and calcium with d3 once a week? and what time span should I feed insects for? I heard 50 crickets, or 30 worms is a good average.. I would really appreciate if you could confirm all of this !
I use pure calcium powder. I was using the d3 and mushu started to have problems like twitching. The vet said to stop using the d3 and since then she has been great. Really depends on preference.
Me and my girlfriend bought a juvenile bearded dragon. I have doubts if he's consuming enough food. He eats about two and a half medium sized superworms, next day like 4 to 5 crickets. I have veggies in a bowl but he won't touch them. Also... he likes to lick calcium residues from the crickets or worms that we feed him. Is that normal? Is that a normal serving number for a dragon his age?
sorry to hear about spike he was a beautiful dragon . so #1. cut down on animal protein #2. higher hydration #3. give a variety of greens . #4 .calcium powder #5. rep cal pellets . #6 give one day of feeding rest . how much would you say is over feeding animal protein for a bearded dragon ? thanks for the great video and awesome collection of dragons . R.I.P SPIKE
Hi guys! I am getting a lovley female, 4 months old. How MUCH animal protien do you suggest? how many dubia? worms? crickets? Since she is a juvenile, is she fed every day, or every other day? thanks for the info!

Luke warm water, and yes we dry before putting the dragon back in the enclosure (but that is just us).

Yes, you will love having him. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.
Thanks, i will for sure :)
Yes, we will be there! Unfortunately I do not know of tegu breeders. Just keep checking Kingsnake

I wanna snuggle both of those dragons in the background scratching to get out of the tank!
They wouldn't be much of a snuggle partner. We moved some cages around to film video and they are seeing dragons they normally do not see and wanted to breed.
Thank you for the great video!! Do you have you weekly suggested adult feeding schedule posted somewhere?
Raleigh, NC

I'm certainly no expert, but I tend to agree that 40+ crickets a day is an outrageous amount. Yes, a bearded dragon will feast on them, but like humans, variety is best.
His bowel movements have become less frequent since he is utilizing more of the food he eats vs. passing it. Pellets are a great food option.
Please make a video covering every aspect of breeding beardies.
Thanks for being our first!
Working on our "Bearded Dragon Health" video now.
ok...sounds logical...thx for the response
I would recommend backing off the animal protein and get them eating their greens. They will always choose moving insects/worms over plants and pellets at that age. Especially if the breeder did not offer a lot of plant protein and pellets.

How often should I fed my beardie a vegetable and how many superworms should I fed my beardie every day?
they seem to like broccoli, and meal worm's exoskeleton and be hard to digest
thank u for the reply I'm gonna try that, when do they usually hit a growth spurt
Can you guys make a video on how you guys clean the cages and the products you use?
How often should I give my dragon cactus fruit?
I just got one today
Have you asked the previous owner what type of animal protein this dragon prefers?
What would you say is the coolest looking type of bearded dragon (color wise)
Micah, greens are cheap. You can always grow your own too. You can start your own dubia colony and raise your own feeders for next to nothing. Lots of options! Good luck!
what do you recommend for a baby beardie that eats like a monster but occasionally on and off closes his eyes randomly
How many crickets should I feed my 12 week old bearded dragon daily?
How many dubia roaches should a juvenile bearded dragon get a day and how many pellet and what amount of vegetables

not trying to knock anyone just always cross reference all my info when it comes to my babies alot of conflicting info out there

From a baby to an adult, how much will everything cost? The tank, food, lighting ect.
I use pure calcium powder. I was using the d3 and mushu started to have problems like twitching. The vet said to stop using the d3 and since then she has been great. Really depends on preference.
Interesting. I am assuming you are using a good UVB or getting lots of natural sun.
how much calcium do the BEARDIES need a week
Any suggestions? Should we even be worried?

Hey, I saw you have a jungle carpet python! could you tell me what size prey you feed it and how often? (if it is an adult) Thanks for the video.
Yes. The Rep-Cal pellets can be the only thing you feed your beardie if you really wanted to. We do not feed mealworms. We prefer superworms.
Hi guys! I am getting a lovley female, 4 months old. How MUCH animal protien do you suggest? how many dubia? worms? crickets? Since she is a juvenile, is she fed every day, or every other day? thanks for the info!
HOWMUCH dubia would a baby dragon need to eat?
How many crickets a day should you feed your dragon, with pellets and veggies.
