See there’s this kind of dark academia where it kind of ties in with cottagecore, and then there’s the side of dark academia which is literally just blood and murder-

It’s all seasonal for me, spring and summer is cottage core and then fall and winter is dark academia, but it does over lap a bit😅
I've always felt I didn't 100% fit in the dark academia category but I'm not 100% cottage core either. I just recently found out there's a LIGHT ACADEMIC aesthetic, everyone. So, yeah. I guess I'm more of a Light Academia person.

its not super cheap but a loft bed is nice for making space, given you'll need some head room

I think that's a great idea! And I just thought I'd add that in my house I have non-permanent curtains that you don't have to drill into the wall. I know I'm not describing this right, but basically the curtain pole relies on suction so you can take it off easily! So that would be a good temporary solution :)

dark academia is loving studying and learning new things and being smart, but at the same time hating school or anything that you actually need to study but if you’re doing it just because you love it

As someone who has had their bed on the floor in a tiny space for three years, I highly recommend getting/making a platform bed frame. So much extra storage. Also I personally find that sleeping on the floor made me feel less well rested and more depressed.

I was obsessed with Dead Poets Society when I was 11-13 and I managed to convince my mom to let me go to boarding school when I was 16. It was more or less the only choice, since I wanted to get my A-Levels but due to the school system I couldn't go to any high-school and the other one that would have been possible waitlisted me sooooo. I have to say that it was a very down to earth boarding school in which also students studied who were not living on school property and it was really cheap and not at all like in Dead Poets Society, except for not being allowed to leave the property at certain times. lol. i actually changed school one year before graduation since i was then 18 and didn't really like being watched all the time. maybe I should become a teacher at a british boarding school and be like Mr. Keating
I give kudos to anyone who can get their room to be ONE aesthetic because mine looks like a teenage boy from the late 80s on one side and someone who studies English literature and fashion on the other
