Me who lived on Campus for 3 years and is in my senior year of college with still literally no college friends: oh YeAh?!
You only find friends when you are open to finding friends. Don't expect people to come to you.
For the first year, I was miserable with no genuine friends, then I joined clubs and slowly but surely found people with whom I fit in perfectly.

For me, it's highschool all over again. Why would I chase after people who clearly don't want me?
@@screamingopossum7809 maybe you'll find life long friends when you start working or get a job in your major. I can understand why it's hard to make friends tho
@@screamingopossum7809 It's easy to mistake social anxiety with not wanting friends imo (and that's coming from experience), so they might just think that you don't want them as friends. With making friends you must take it easy and be a bit positive, for example, if you're smiling you come off as a kind and less scary person and it's easier to approach you. Also, if you're going to think they "don't want you" before you get to know them, you are starting at a losing position. You must try to make friends instead of waiting for them, try not to be passive & don't come off as disinterested if you can.
this came into my recommendation and this was such a delight. i love serotonin at 3 in the morning

I love this because I just graduated from SCSU not that long ago and got an apartment on Chapel St near-ish to Yale. Quarantine has the city so quiet that I can hear the bells sometimes from far away which is super neat

Aw man last time I had film class was so long ago, for some reason even when I was the lead actor in my group's short film my favorite part was editing and I was so proud of 1 small specific camera angle change that was super smooth

What they don't tell you about post-grad is that you don't have to fit into a cookie-cutter job with your degree. Especially in today's age of communication/technology, you can literally do ANYTHING and your senior classes will also show you this and its enlightening

I'm not even going to yale but I am in college and I wish I was as chill. My first major was in the film industry but then I changed it to art and then I changed it to culinary arts. I don't regret it I learned a lot don't worry if you don't have it all planned out. Love your video. And it does look like Hogwarts. You also do find your people in college if I didn't have the greatest friends and awesome time I'd literally lose it. Good luck.

@@emilia-qm1xz see thats the thing with the social constraints of getting into a school like that "working hard " isn't enough. Exorbitant amounts of money is required and even if you were somehow to get a scholarship it is so competitive you'd have to spend alot of money to get tutors and do extra curriculars which some people just don't have. Not to mention the kids who have the drive to be great and go to a school like this but who have to get jobs to support thier families thus having no time to put towards thier extra curriculars which makes it impossible to even be considered for a school like that
Alice Varela i see what you mean now, thank you for elaborating. i thought you meant that you didn’t think you were smart or passionate enough to get into these schools. obviously, that’s not the case. i fullheartedly agree that’s the advantages that some people receive are so unfair. people with wealth are incredibly privileged with the resources they receive on many different levels, whether they are able to receive a better pre-college education enabling them to be better prepared for college, and etc. in short, i’m very sorry i misunderstood your comment. i’ve seen to people undermine the hard work that students commit to, by simplying stating that they, themselves, aren’t intelligent enough. obviously, diligence is a factor, but i agree that social construct is also an unjust thing in upper education. again, i’m sorry, always remember that you can be successful, no matter what adversity is thrown at you. :)

I appreciate the sentiment behind your comment and having the genral drive to lift people up and addressing that these are real issues. i just graduated college (but most of my last year was remote due to covid) and this vid made me extremely nostalgic. i used to hate going to class and being productive in the winter but this made me miss even the shittiest parts. i know it's cliche but take advantage of every moment u have in college cause the "real world" BLOWS
