  • In this video you will learn HOW to make the arepas filled with Reina Pepiada, one of the most famous and eaten arepas in Venezuela, the queen of the VENEZUELAN AREPAS par excellence.
    REINA PEPIADA recipe step by step
    Ingredients:

    1 Chicken Breast
    ½ Onion
    Cilantro or Celery
    Pinch of Cumin
    2 cloves of garlic
    ¼ cup Vegetable Oil
    ½ Salt Soup
    ¼ cup of Mayonnaise
    1 Clove of Garlic
    2 ripe avocados or 1 large
    3 tablespoons of Chicken Broth
    Pepper
    Pre-cooked corn flour

    Preparation:

    -First we remove all the skin from the Chicken, and we put it to boil with Salt, Onion and Celery or Cilantro, Pepper and Cumin stems until it is soft.
    -Once ready, we take it out and crumble it with the help of 2 forks or a blender and place it in a bowl with 3 tablespoons of the remaining broth.

    -Liquidate the Garlic, Oil, ¼ cup of Mayonnaise, along with Salt and Pepper to taste until you have a puree. Followed by the 2 avocados. If you cannot handle the two avocados, blend only one and crush the other one with a fork.

    - It should be like a paste, consistent, not watery. Then, we add this mixture to the shredded chicken and mix. Add salt and that's it!

    -The Arepas (for those who are not Venezuelan) are prepared with Flour Bread (precooked corn) Water and Salt, the proportion is 1 cup of Water for 1 of Flour and Salt to the taste, first goes the Water and then the Flour, we mix, it is left to rest 4min and we knead 3min, we give it form and we can make them roasted or fried.
