I totally agree with you regarding the naming; very confusing. I've had both, and the Land Cask is the more interesting of the two, but I'm really not fond of 40% malts. That being said, I'd still prefer either of the two over most comparably priced blends 😉
Initial presentation seemed like Islay, but you're right, it's a softer smoke. Maybe like a smoked meat? In my opinion, it could do with a higher proof. Still, it's a fantastic scotch, especially at this price!
Convinced now to purchase a bottle and give it a try. Always on the look out for a budget peated dram so at current supermarket prices it's time to give it a go. 🥃

Thankfully I’ve had Yuzu so I get it. Great review as always! I remember being young and deciding I’d drink whisky none of it had flavor or tasted good, to me. Years later it’s my preferred drink and when you slowly enjoy it you do spot all the variety of flavors. It’s half the fun of constantly trying new stuff.
Definitely - I like how filming reviews really make me sit down and focus solely on the flavour and aroma experience but it's of course even better with good company and just discussing and enjoying new and old drams together!

A very nice surprise to me. I bought it today in Czech Republic for less than 17 pounds and it is lovely. I feel some medicinal smoke in it. It tastes like a mixture of Caol Ila 12 and Laphroaig 10 (my favourite brands) but for half a price. I do like it. And I love your thoughtful reviews and gentle voice so I subscribed 😘 Sláinte!

Trying it tonight. I think you rather nailed the description. Definitely not challenging, but a very serviceable dram-especially for the price.
Also here in The Netherlands you can find it cheap, just bought 3 bottles , the bottle was on offer for 20 euro/17 pounds which is very cheap for a 10 year old botteling!

To me it’s a bit like Talisker 10
There’s a high up sweet/sharp alcoholic note but I like it!

Very enjoyable whiskey. Nice heavy glass 2 chunks of ice and relax, very smooth, smoky, peaty scotch. 💨
I find the seacask easy enough but the landcask seems to have dissapeared. Where did it go??
That's a good questions - I've only seen it recently of Master of Malt but I haven't been to that many shops lately that isn't the one closest to us due to Covid ☺️
