The real reason he got up is because Ernie hit Larry so hard, that it slept him but when he hit the canvas, it woke him back up and so he got up and won
I wasn't a big Larry Holmes fan, until this. I had a great deal of respect after he got up from that wrecking ball of a right. I consider him one of the greatest ever.
I agree. I have always found that majority of heavier weight class fighters lack skill. Especially in the old days. I prefer guys like roberto duran, hagler or guys like tank, inoue today. They where/are so technical and fascinating to look at their strategies and ring iq. But that is probably because i am a lightweight/welterweight myself.
@@wtfgebeurdmij2991Yes well that is heavyweight boxing and the truth is at that weight you only need so much skill because power is the law of the land for the most part. The greatest HW’s all have the samething in common which is the ability to take a massive amount of punishment and still keep their composure and keep boxing. This is what made Ali so great and it is today why Usyk is about to become Undisputed HW champ because he’s built just like Ali like literally was born on the same day and share the same exact dimensions of 6’3 225 with a 78 reach. On the opposite end of spectrum it is why Francis Ngannou has a chance to beat AJ and fight for the belts because his power, heart and durability is enough to get him over in HW division.
How in the Hell did Holmes not only get back up but got back up and won. 😳
his heart in underrated. Larry has been hurt before but most of the time, he was able to fire back and win
Larry Holmes = Legend

Because he can get up even when he can't
Larry said he hit him so hard that he knocked him out and woke him up at the same time.. lol
Larry Holmes, the Real 🐐
Wow! Can't Believe He Got Back Up..And Won!!!😂😮😂❤

Shavers was the hardest puncher
After this round Shavers tried so hard to k.o Holmes that He totally gassed out
Always get backup. Always win.
Just like fury vs wilder
Larry was up way Quicker than Fury tho
That was 2 punches, and neither as hard as This one from Earnie Shavers
Just like Tyson
Tex Cobb beat Earnie Shavers ... watch that fight.
With Shavers the longer a fight went on He gassed out, plus cobb had a Granite chin and incredible Heart.
Shavers was just bumb fighter...no skill whatsoever
