A hospital in the Bay Area tried really hard to give me pain pills and something in my soul told me to reject it. The pain was there but not that bad. I refuse to become a junkie by an over zealous PA’s prescription after she barely did an exam on me and gave the vibe I was wasting her time.

As a Black male I was told because we are so thin in numbers as RN the pay is typically on a greater scale than the norm. Sorry for your loss. This is so incredibly sad and also so very disturbing that is was so preventable? All because of racism…that’s why when others who don’t experience first hand what it’s like and how deep it goes costing so many precious lives from situations that could so easily be avoided. When those people always try to deflect, reduce or dismiss the effects of racism (I’ve been gaslit by others for daring to speak up on a situation involving a co-worker who was “humorously” referred to as a “turd” when I inquired why? this racist team of old Karen’s told me it was because of her brown skin colour??? I was gob smacked! Also these same women would continuously and openly make racial gestures towards Indigenous communities - after being in the team for a few months and going through mental distress one part of me fearing to lose my job and the other part of me (that was stronger) wanting to take action. So I finally plucked the courage up and went to my team leader with this problem, it wasn’t treated with a level of care and concern that I was expecting, it went to the manager but pretty much went nowhere. I raised my concerns again to another co-worker and team leader and they thankfully reported to HR but another dead end street. I tried to follow up with HR and the next shift I walked into I was told by the team leader that it was already “dealt with” and that I was not to raise this issue again as it was already “dealt with” and it was “done and dusted” and to try to be part of the team. And I was then ostracised by the majority of my team and worst of all the victim - the women whom they kept referring to as a “turd” actually took their side and by pretending it was all “humour” and I was making a big deal out of nothing. One conversation they had was when we were nearing our company Christmas party and it was a costumed theme party everyone discussing what costumes they would wear. The “victim” at hand said she was unsure, a meme email at the time had circulated our office with an image of a turd in a cupcake wrap with sprinkles on top some type of funny caption, I’ll never forget when these old Karen’s kept telling her to go as a cupcake turd with sprinkles and all she needed to do was put sprinkles on top of her head??? That was one of the conversations I tried to report and go through the correct channels. Worse job I ever had and very toxic team and environment subsequently I ended up with severe depression, anxiety and panic attacks working there - I was so afraid to leave because i was trapped inside my own mental anguish of fear and also caught up with how my team was. I sat by myself for the rest of my time there but after I became the official whistleblower I was made to feel less than and a troublemaker. I finally left that toxic job it actually took many years to get over that particular job but it wasn’t just that job it was many other incidents I went through due to racism in the workplace, in educational settings, preferential treatment, micro aggressions, subtle gestures…it’s very draining and tiring and really hurts the soul - if it were not for God and His word I would never have been able to heal and forgive and finally let go of all those hurts.

It's not hateful. It's because their skin-color Identity is unable to exist except with some skin-color "other" to label. It's the same with the idiotic, irrational identity of "black". They were both created at the same time in the late 1600s, 1691 to be exact. And these delusions and paranoia exist in EVERY country in this hemisphere, in one form or another. The solution is to make these loser and bums IRRELEVANT. Yall gotta drop this victim attitude and view this bullshyt like a bad joke and handle it like it's an OBSTACLE and an OPPORTUNITY. Winning ALWAYS attracts haters. But no, we think this bullshyt is some sort of "moral crime" because we actually believe this skin-color Identity bullshyt too, just like them. Once you realize EVERYTHING we've heard about "skin-color" aka "race" is not just bullshyt but literally IRRATIONAL, you will treat it accordingly.

I am a doctoral prepared, nurse practitioner, and I have no support. I was discriminated against so badly and was not allowed a seat at the table, so I made my own table. It is like pulling teeth to get physicians to support me. Black physicians will not support us. I am still waiting on a phone call from a black physician who promised to call me within two days. It has been three weeks with a reminder. Unfortunately, in order to use my education and experience, which I gained which I went to college for and which I paid for I have to have a physician sign a piece of paper supporting me good luck with that if you’re black and don’t know any physicians, but they don’t tell you that before you finish the education. I unlike many am fortunate to have someone who supports me, but they don’t look like me. Regardless am appreciative and grateful, but still know that something needs to be done. the problem is systemic. It is not one or two individuals. We need to come together.

I’m using late husband’s device. He passed , in September 2021. He retired from his career as a civilian physician, working for D.O.D. @ a military hospital. Racism wasn’t a topic he openly discussed; especially in the context of his professional life. But I often remarked about the racism & how much this impacted our marriage. The Army is in the forefront of this systemic oppression & racist discrimination; in medicine & healthcare. Black doctors are maligned, ridiculed, & forced to work with absurd ‘ standards’ & restrictions . I witnessed this happening to my own husband. And he suffered from the effects on his health. I can elaborate more details later. For now, I’m grateful for the fact it’s been brought to light. More details & better examples of this must be addressed. There is another hospital my husband was affiliated with, where I firmly believe racism determined medical negligence: his healthcare provider. Racism. Doctors are not exempt from this. Black physicians from Ivy League medical schools have been subjected to discrimination & racism. I’m responding to this because I honor my late husband by giving voice to the issue.

Intelligent, competent confidence in black people really is viewed as threatening to those with a white centered world view. In other words, these white people are really telling on themselves with their characterizations of black doctor’s. The intelligence & authority of a black person doesn’t fit the white narrative so their perception of normal doctor behavior (orders, demands, dictatorial final decision making - all good things in a life and death profession) is skewed when working with black doctors. A statement/request phrased exactly as a white peer would is deemed abrasive coming from a black person’s mouth. Therefore it is the intelligent authority in combination with the skin color that’s the problem. A simple way of putting this is that the existence of any kind of black excellence demonstrably disproves white supremacy and this is a threat to white supremacy. Black excellence infuriates the blatant and latent racists among us. The white establishment’s black tokens are generally always well below average performers because this confirms their racial bias. For this reason, they are very comfortable with black mediocrity (and even incompetence) because it confirms white superiority.

This is the norm. I worked at Thomas Jefferson Univ Hospital and Jefferson Medical College for 34 years. I was always the only black person in any department that I worked in, although Jefferson is an inner city hospital. I often worked as an interview coordinator, without the official use of the title or pay, because it was not allowed. If I turned down the work, I would have been fired. Black employees could only hold positions in the housekeeping department, laundry, or kitchen etc.
Applications were not accepted from black students applying for medical school. They were not allowed to be interviewed for any medical position, and believe me they were not. If an application was sent in, it was trashed. A former employee of mine, showed me all of the trashed medical school applications. They had a total of 35,000 employees as of 2019, the year I retired, and only had 3 black physicians throughout their 8 hospitals. When I retired, I was the last black person in the department where I worked, all of the rest of them had been either, fired, or forced out. You were never considered for any promotions whatsoever, no matter how high your performance evaluation was ranked.
One day, while I was at lunch, one of my co-workers brought a friend of hers over to be interviewed for my job, without the knowledge of my immediate supervisor or HR. Nothing was done, it was just business as usual. I was constantly watched by the Division Director, and the Divisional manager. Just another day.

Do people even know the plight of black people in South America? They have it a lot worse in these Hispanic countries and fail to realize brown people around the world dislike us too. It will be worse for us in a majority Hispanic/asian demographic country. And thank goodness this doctor pointed out he got passed over for a promotion in favor of a white woman. White women are the biggest beneficiaries of affirmative action programs in this country yet black people always catch hell and get targeted for affirmative action lies. Smdh

Why is anyone surprised? The worldwide evil of white supremacy is consistent and predictable if one understands history.
I was an executive and retired early than I would have because the system of white supremacy was closing in on me. It was one of the best decisions I made in my life.
My saving grace was I studied and understood African and European history and could "see" it coming.
The major challenge I observed with most African Americans is they don't know and understand their history starting over 200,000 years ago. By not knowing their history, it's almost impossible to understand how Europeans rose from barbarians to ruling the world.

Not surprising at all. I remember my brother telling me that our Black family doctor told him that non Black doctors fear Black men. His point was regarding potential diseases etc. Black people have been guinea pigs in this country for years. Our family doctor, back in my old hometown, Detroit, told my brother this, back during the 90s. Some 12 years ago. A female Indian doctor had exposed the discrimination that Black patients deal with. The, behind the scenes shit. Historically. Black people were victims of the Tuskegee experiment, white woman whom came into the Black community, some hundred years ago, trying to convince Black women to get sterilized. Etc. Birth control was and still is on their priority list. Because they fear of being outnumbered. And it's the same reason why the border between Mexico is priority to them.

I went through a similar thing. I was (and still am) a Counselor with an Associate, a Bachelor's, a Master's, and a higher level state credential. Where I worked, all but one of the other Counselors were blk and all of us had multiple college degrees. The clinic brought in a woman from another site to supervise us despite the fact that she only had a high school diploma and a trainee credential. To top it off, she stunk at her job. She yelled at patients and even cursed at a patient once and received no discipline for it (she should have been fired). She was totally unprofessional. Her patients hated her and it got so bad that they'd be in group sessions and individuals exploding about her.
I eventually spoke up about the situation and pointed out to the Clinical Director that a person with a trainee credential is by state law not allowed to supervise Counselors. I had no writeups, never broke any rules, and was considered by all to be the best Counselor they had. They attempted to fire me the day after I spoke up about what was happening which I am required to do by law. I did nothing wrong.
I told them, nope, you're not firing me, I quit, slammed the door in the Director's face, left, and sued the clinic for retaliation and for the thousands of hours of unpaid time they owe me. Then, I got better job making more money working less hours with a Program Director who is a blk man!!!
Moral of the story is, we need to sue more, and then either find places to work where blk people have power, or open our own clinics if we can ✌🏽

WHITE SUPREMACY & TOKENISM IN THE AMERICAN MEDICAL & THERAPY LOCATIONS: Real experiences: My child is special needs, and we've faced years of Dept of Education ignoring us and 75% of the special needs therapists being racist (overt and covert) with us. In the feeding therapy, we were forced out of program days into a multi-month program due to racism and unprofessionalism. In the ER and regular hospital scenarios, we've had doctors and nurses lie to us, belittle us, walk away from us, not give us pain meds (prior to surgeries and before entering the surgery room), and gaslight us. Although there are some positive experiences, for the most part, we try not to go to a medical institution or therapy clinic. Not because we don't love ourselves and desireto live, but because often the medical and therapeutic experiences are just as traumatizing as the medical, etc challenges we are experiencing prior to entering the "Medical and Therapy White Supremacist, classist hells"
