9 really useful English three-word phrasal verbs (transitive verbs)

- See some three-word English phrasal verbs in action. Yes, three-words, not two!
Most phrasal verbs are made up verb and another small word - a particle.
But some phrasal verbs have three words - a verb and two particles.
In this video lesson you'll learn nine common ones:
look forward to
get away with
come up with
get round to
feel up to
come down with
get out of
put up with
grow out of
We'll show you how we use them in action, look at their meanings an also explore their grammar.
These English verbs are all inseparable and transitive, so the three words always stay in the same order and they're always followed by a noun. And if you want to follow them with a verb? No problem. We'll show you how to transform the verb into a gerund (a noun form of a verb).

Today, I learned what a gerund is. And I’m a native English speaker!
Ha! This is so funny. I had no idea what a gerund was either till I became an English teacher. It's not a term most native speakers need to know. For learners it's a different matter because gerunds come up all over the place and are often a cause of mistakes. Thanks J.Ailor
I know what a gerund is but I‘m not able to speak English propperly! Lol 😂
You too are adorable. Alwys looking forward to meeting you both here to help me with my English.
Thanks MyDanyMax, and a great example! :-)

We're so glad you like them, hapgull! It's great to have you with us. :-)
I really love your videos, so creative and useful. As a learner gerund can be challanging, sometimes hard to decide when i should use. I know that after some words with feeling(hate, love, like etc... after prepositions: of, to, about etc, special words like avoid, time, but there are some exceptions so I have to be careful with gerund lol
So true, Seijuro! Gerunds can be tricky, but you can rest assured that you need them if you want to use a verb after these verbs.
I love this channel so much make me love English , thank you

5 27 WooHoo That's wonderful.Very stylish fresh young couple.Thank you!
^Looking forward to seeing..' and 'Long time no see' are two phrases that I always have doubts if the grammar is correct, they are so weird :)
Ah yes, they are curious. We're playing with the word order with 'long time no see' so it's rather weird, rather like when we say 'No can do' instead of 'I can't: Hopefully 'Look forward to seeing' will become easier if you think of 'look forward to' as one word. The order of the words never changes. Thanks for writing Candy.
6 38 the list of expressions
I'll watch this while waiting for my english class! Just incase😁
Sounds like a good plan, KyudKrim
Uh i think you should call me bulan- 😁
Vicki looks better with longer hair.
Talking about gerunds, 'suck' has another gerund, 'suction', which can be a verb, so it has its own gerund, 'suctioning'. It's interesting that sometimes gerunds can have their own gerunds.
Thanks for adding this extra information on the verb suck Gabor. Much appreciated. :-)
When will the SEVY video be released?
In two weeks. We've received the submissions and written the caption files. We need to judge them now! We're excited! :-)
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks Miriam. :-)
My respected teachers. Tons of love and respect for you from Pakistan
Thanks so much Aziz. :-)
Hi, I have a question for you. Have the expressions gotta go, must dash,I have to run, and I'm off a similar meaning? Thank you!
'Gotta go,' 'must dash,' and 'I have to run' all mean that at this moment I have to leave quickly. 'I'm off' implies less of a rush. 'I'm off' simply is an announcement that one is leaving.
Учите английский 👍👍👍
:-)
In one of your videos, you mentioned that preposition 'at' should be used with 'whom' to mean efficiency.
But I know preposition 'in' should be used with verb proficient to express the same meaning. Could you please explain?
Oh interesting Mozamma. Could you provide examples of the sentences that are puzzling you?
@@SimpleEnglishVideos Ex-1. He is good at Maths.
Ex-2. He Is proficient in Maths.
I need a good explanation of why preposition "at" is used in 1st sentence and "in" is used in 2nd sentence. Both the sentences mean the same idea.
@@mozammalhoque3184 Ah dear. All we can say is 'because it is!' Sorry! But please don't stop wondering things like this because they're a sign of a great English language learner.
Wonderful video, so easy to follow and learn¡ Let vicky get away with it, Jay, she's a better salesperson than you¡ Greeting from Argentina¡
Ha! Vicki here Tobias, and I agree! :-)

As an argentinean I must say, I am chuffed. XO. I Watch your videos with my English girlfriend, you are adorable.
you are so wonderful and charming!
Thanks for the kind words Maria. :-)
1-He's mixed up with.
2-We know you got mixed up with some gangsters.
3-Your uncle has gotten mixed up with some pretty bad people.
4-Don't get mixed up with people like that.
5-Didn't want to get mixed up in the family business.
What does this mean please (mix up)
Excellent question Ahmed. To be 'mixed up with someone or something' means to be involved with people or in a situation that causes trouble or problems.
