    I'm an English teacher in a country as beautiful as yours, Brazil. I can say that you are one of the best teachers I have ever seen. I found your channel last week, and I'm already a fan. My wife even said that you explain things like I do, with a light spirit and humour. I'm very happy that there is a professional like you; and you helped me a lot to find a way to better approach Phrasal Verbs, which is something very difficult for Romance language speakers to understand. God bless!

    I've always looked for a someone who could explain the logical perspective lying behind the phrasel verbs such as break up, look up, go on, keep on, come up, better off - because I can't lay any knowledge in my long-term memory if I can't get the basic logical reason of why this or that is used that way. I thank you for this great job. We learners highly suffer from the lack of teacher doing it the way yo do. I suppose that almost all native speakers don't chew over the reason of why they use "better" with "off" when they want to talk about improvement. Because they've embraced it as it is since their childhood, but for anyone who's trying to keep any phrasel verb in their word reservoir, it's crucial to get to know its underlying perspective.

      @C "you've nailed it" or "you nailed it"? :) I guess both are correct (I'm not a native english speaker). But americans would use the past tense in this case.

    • @CBJAMPA
      @CBJAMPA 5 лет назад +3

      Altre Frontiere - I am not a native speaker myself, but, on second thought, I think you’re absolutely right. Good point. “You nailed it” is more like a chunk of language, a ready to use idiomatic expression, more naturally used without a correct verb tense concern. Thanks!

    How much I watch your classes how much more I learn about.
    I'm an English teacher in Brazil as you are I've been teaching a small school here for 3 years and I'm a Portuguese native speaker and when I was finishing my English course in 2013 I took a decision in becoming English teacher language and I confess in the beginning I was so much more afraid but each day I'm overcoming myself and your classes expire me because I'm used to using your classes in my ones I admire your method and your simple manner to explain about.
    Thanks for all
    Have a good weekend

      Hi Cassio! I feel honoured to be able to inspire people. In teaching the most important thing is passion, and it seems like you have that, so just keep going! Now it's your job to inspire your students!

      Cássio, cuidado com esse jeito de querer falar inglês traduzindo do português. A sua frase teve muitos erros grotescos por conta de uma tradução ao pé da letra.
      Eu também sou um professor de inglês, e eu vejo muitos alunos com esses erros por conta de seus professores.
      Como você disse que "se formou" em 2013, vejo que você é novo na língua. Sugiro que você ache um jeito de praticar o seu inglês com nativos, e comece à assistir séries/filmes do cotidiano do Americano ou Britânico (em inglês e sem legenda, óbvio).
      Veja isso como uma crítica construtiva 😀

    I have been highly attentive throughout this video of yours due to the new looks you shared into the English phrasal verb formation. I am utterly impressed with your explanations on cognitive linguistics and the perspective - space concepts in the context of comprehension of phrasal verbs. You are amazing, Sir! (thumbs up)
    Thank you very much for this shared video.
