Although Michael has a very unfortunate health condition I admire him for continuing to be brave enough to live his life to the fullest as much as he can while he can. It is the trials of life that brings your true character to the surface and Michael is still letting his light shine no matter what. Bravo, Michael! God bless Michael J. Fox and his loved ones.
@Mikey Chan j Fox wife before family ties meet her boyfriend wife j Fox before she was going on her own life story ture life movie made into the office box
Most people with disabilities don't want to be admired just because they live with a disability, he is just living his life. Being called a hero because of your disability is just as offensive as assuming incompetence because of disability. They are opposite sides of the same coin.
He has been a hero all these years to those who live with disabilities. But both before and since is just trying to live and has done an amazing job with Tracy in raising a great family. I also respect the many BTTF appearances and additional roles he took on after. Glad I got to experience this incredible era of television while shows were well written and had heart. Kids today have to stumble on RUclips to discover that entertainment used to be far more than mindless tik tok and stupid reality shows.
A terrific cast. Michael Gross was the unsung hero of the show - he really had comic chops.
michael j. fox is a fighter..great one!
i know, right? He's awesomely cool and a talented actor! :)
It's terrific to see the sparks in his personality are still shining and he seems so with it, despite everything,
But, I still can't help but look at him now and not get a lump in my throat. I just wonder often how difficult everyday routines and tasks are for him. Things such as brushing your teeth, coming your hair, taking showers, walking, talking and eating. Maybe his kids try to help their daddy sometimes. They're lucky to have a daddy like him :-)
Michael J. Fox was my idol all through elementary school. He is still one of my favorites. : )
Thou shalt not idolize any other human being,For I am The Lord Thy God, Whosoever shall worship earthly idols, and people, shall find themselves sepatated from Me snd I shall say unto them "Depart from me,ye cursed, your punishment shall in the pits of Hell burning with fire and brimstone"!
breaks my heart for Michael j. Fox. Great actor. i admire his braveness.
Ask M J. Fox about Scott Valentine and his felony assault charges. He tried to choke him to death! Stacey
This was one of my favorite shows growing up. I thought and still think Michael J. Fox is gorgeous. It's a shame they don't have shows like this anymore.
RIP Gary David Goldberg, for a life well lived and thank you from bringing us this great show. God bless Michael J Fox and I wish him healing.
They all seem like such nice people.
That's because the camera is on.
Yes, they do :-)
They will always be the Keatons to us.
The cast has aged really well! They all look great. Tina Yothers is cuter than she was as a kid.
Sad though, that Lauren and little Andy are missing.
@@sweetlife031 because Lauren, or courtney cox, wsn't the original cast of the show.
Fast forward 14 years and look at Justine Bateman...yeet!
@@sweetlife031 little Andy was likely in jail or strung out..true
There's a podcast from 2020 they're all on video as well on Zoom, and Brian Bonsall is on it in the second half and he shows his little boy, he's clean and has a construction job, he looks good
Steven Keaton (Michael Gross) had to be the best TV dad ever! He was so believable, especially the episode he first met Nick, Mallory's BF! And he asks Elise "Who are these people at our door looking for our daughter? I HATE them!!!" HILARIOUS!!! Thumbs up to the Keatons! LOVE THEM ALL!
He wasn't believable when he let that guy kiss Mallory and he did nothing
@@reginaldwilliams6241 what guy Nick
@@ericburns9132 remember Steve co worker who forced himself on Mallory and kissed her when she was 16. .. she told her parent and Steve confronted the guy and begged him to get help ..one of the worst TV moments ever
I was 10 years old when the show ended and I cried. It was my first series finale and I thought the world would never be the same without family ties!
Michael J. Fox is so talented. Perfect timing on everything!
I love Michael! (I mostly call him MJ lol)...I do always ache for him and wonder if he ever gets special help with brushing his teeth, combing his hair, taking showers, walking, talking and eating. :(
sweetlife031 there is only one MJ !!! and I think Mr Jordan would be a little offended by that.
@@richardgallerani5644 I know this is already late but MJ for me is Michael Jackson.
@@richardgallerani5644 so what if some one calls michael J Fox M J michael Jordan isn't the only person with the initial M J did you forget about Michael Jackson !!
@@whatevergoesforme5129 so true !!
I'll take old school sitcoms over Reality TV ANYDAY of the week
Definitely! Get rid of those stupid reality tv shows
Love and still love this show. I love Alex would deliver a line to Mallory. He would pause and smile and you knew it was a good one. Michael J. Fox a legend.
This show was a favorite of mine, such a talented cast that really made it work. In awe of MJF then, and with what he's dealing with now even more so, amazing man!
Man! Sometimes life can have some strange turn of events. Its hard seeing Michael J. Fox this way. But what a special person and I remember him as that. Huge fan of this show.
Best family series ever!
I love Michael J. Fox it makes me almost cry to see him know.
Me too. I often wonder how he handle every day life? No one know but him and those close to him
the whole cast is awesome... this show WILL live on on youtube and tv history forever!
God it sucks that ppl cant stay young and as they were forever. The cast of this show has been hit particularly hard by unlucky fate, with the possible exception of M. Gross and Tina Yothers. I really wish them all the best. The day the first one of them passes away, I will probably tear up. How could you not? This show was so much a part of the lives of ppl who grew up in the 1980s. Long live Family Ties.
I just want to cry I miss those show's so much!!
When I look at Michael I am overcome with a overwhelming sadness ,having to deal with my loving mom go through this disease for 9 years then passed,I think he's a courageous man, much respect & blessings🙏
He's managed Parkinson's really well. What a survivor! My hats off.
Nostalgia...Michael J. Fox was one of my favorite actors when I was a kid.
When living in San Diego area, my daughter & I boarded the trolley & Michael J. was in the rear... My daughter exclaimed, "Mommy, there's Alex!" He smiled @ her... I told her it wasn't him so she wouldn't bug him.
Thats a cool story, Michael J. is awsome!!!
I also met him, and his wife. This was at an old job at a movie theatre, c. 2002. It was a fleeting encounter, but one of the few times I met a 'celeb' couple on the job.
wow. that's a cool story
My dad used to watch this show when I grew up, but only now I have started watching it and have discovered how brilliant it is/was
This was very cool to see. Poor Michael J. Fox, he looks like he's' struggling so hard to control his disease. I feel so bad. This was one of the funniest family shows on TV in the eighties.
Every time I watch Micheal I want to cry, he is so strong and beautiful!
This show was such a gem. Wonderful ensemble cast, hilariously funny and heartfelt. Wish I could catch it reruns somewhere..
I was so young when this show was popular, like 6 or 7. I loved this show and used to watch it everyday. All the cast members look so good now. The father looks better now than he did then. I wish there were a cure for Parkinson's so J. Fox could make more movies. I loved him in back to the future and teen wolf.
Back when we actually looked forward to watching good family wholesome television, unlike today where there's very few what a shame. Thank God for DVDs ect,
You hit the nail on the head for how I am feeling about this show, and others like it. I have been so nostalgic lately, and despite being very happy in my life right now, I always find myself missing those days in the 80's when I was a kid and had no worries, other than school and watching shows like Family Ties.
family ties was better than growing pains
Idk...To me they both go hand in hand. I think Family Ties had a deeper cast tho.
What? They were 2 TOTALLY different shows. You can't even compare them to say which was better. The only thing they had in common was they were both sitcoms about a family.
Damn right it was better. And Justine Bateman was smokin.
N O .
No contest
I love MJF . This used to be one of my fav's shows . Hope I can see it again , so I can see MJF again . God bless u Michael!! . You as Christopher Reeves are great examples of courage . Thanks x help others even when you are with that illness .
You can tell he is so fighting for control as he is talking. Keep fighting Michael!!
poor michael. wonderful talent that has been damaged by disease. I pray they find a cure speedily.
my grandmother had parkinsons, but she got it way later in life (around 75). it's so sad that he is young and has it.
They don't make good TV shows like this anymore. Last of the best comedies was Seinfeld and Everybody Loves Raymond. Everything has to move so fast fast fast nowadays, the quick laugh, no time for any relationships or tenderness. Loved this show back in the day :) Our family actually knew Tina's Dad back in the late eighties. Wonder what ever happened to him.
Black-ish and The Goldbergs are my favorites
Ar7wen I agree with you 100 % it's not the same today's sitcoms😔 I really miss shows like this. Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley, Mork & Mindy, Eight is Enough, Different Strokes, just to name a few.
P's The Facts of Life, , Love Boat, Fantasy Island, oh my goodness gracious there were a lot of great shows back in the days. I miss the good olé days that's for sure.
Adam Samuel Ah blacks and Jews lame
The Office was perhaps the best sitcom ever, and it came later.
I've been revisiting this show via 'Netflix', and it still holds up. My 11 and 9 year old boys like it as well. Really too bad that there aren't any comparable shows like this on currently. That's why my family will never have cable... but we'll always have Netflix, where we can have full access to so many of the 80s situation dramedies that I loved so much as a kid.
Michael J Fox, a true Hollywood Star!
When I was a kid I thought Justine Bateman was beautiful. She's still beautiful.
she's a babe
Teen girls really wanted to look like her or Lisa Bonet.
Justine was hot...but my crush was Tina Yothers.
Justine ain't so beautiful anymore bud. Google it. Shame what drugs will do.
She does have a natural beauty
I ❤ Michael J Fox ❤❤❤❤
I was born in this era (81), and I watched this show as soon as I was old enough, and got to see the re-runs. Loved all of it, and wish it would come back!!
Justine's character was my favorite on that show.
Always loved this show a ton back in the day; every episode!
They touched all kinds of family and society issues, everything possible under the sun. Not just a goody-goody thing like sit-coms past/present tend to do which just look for half-hour-long corny laughs.
And, since I have an account on HuluPlus, I went on there this morning and thankfully found the priceless episode where "Elyse" is dealing with her aunt Rosemary's mind sinking into Alzheimer's Disease and how Elyse's character, in order to keep the famous "Donnelly" family history stories passing on to generations, goes on a touching soliloquy which made me cry.
I have a friend whose mom just passed; and she had Alzheimer's. And that "Family Ties" episode gave me the "release" I needed this morning.
I think family ties found the balance. Full house and Cosby while occasionally touching on thing like alcohol and smoking they where to goody goody about it. Where as Rosanne and Married with children went very raunchy.
@@majormana1 I hated Roseanne
I cried so hard when this was canceled, and watching the season finale...
Family tie love this show
Family ties was my favorite tv show growing up in the eighties
It's so sad when something like that happens to someone, whatever you do, but it's so sad to see someone like Michael suffering from it. I'm not someone who says things like this, but he is such an inspiration for people suffering from anything. :)
His attitude is amazing! Degenerative diseases are heartbreaking
I love this show.
😄
One of the best shows to ever be on television!
I truly love Michael forever!! xxxxxx
aww michael j fox... bless him he cant stop moving. he is my hero. i do love him. and i love family ties
I feel so bad for Michael J Fox
+jennifer “P” holzman Mike looks really good here.
+SCE2AUX2 yeah it wasn't as noticeable here, awfull condition, and such a lovely guy
Me too:(
me too!
robin evans took part in the show
Wholesome family stuff i miss this prograqmme on TV so much!
Matt lower is such a creepy dude even when he's just doing his job 😂
I love this show. Such wonderful people involved.
I loved this show!!
Whatching micheal twitch makes me want to cry, you can obviously see him trying to control it. What a talented actor, keep rocking it mike!
Yep, he was my favourite star when I was in high school.
Family Ties or Growing Pains?
Family Ties for me...for sure:)
I'm watching this like CRAZY right now!
Came upon this video by listening to Johnny Mathis music on here.
They all are alive even in 2019.
Great show Thank you to all the cast
Recently I've been rewatching a lot of Michael's work, including Family Ties, Spin City, and BTTF. It really is a shame what has happened; I really hope that a cure is found soon. He really is a great actor and he could still act now if he could be cured... he doesn't really look much older at all (of course he's not that old to begin with right now)
I'm watching neat the end of Season 1 now, because I haven't seen it in years, but Justine Bateman was only 15 so was her character and she just smiles all.the time on the show before her lines, she really lights of the show.
Micheal J Fox .. Wow amazing actor.. And this sitcom is epic.. didn't see it back then i was six! but watched it years later..
I wanna thank MICHAEL J. FOX for working so hard to make time to do FAMILY TIES, as well as (BACK TO THE FUTURE) literally at the same time.
He couldve easily declined the BACK TO THE FUTURE movie role as MARTY McFLY, because of the rough schedule, but he sucked it up and some how managed to do both FAMILY TIES and BACK TO THE FUTURE,
& for that, he was able to give us the classic - (BACK TO THE FUTURE) movies ❤❤
So we went from VCR to PVR to Cellphone recording in my lifetime, what progress.
Thanks for this one!
...you are so right, thanks!
And thanks for being so kind and sympathetic...
MJ Fox great guy. God bless u.!!
right, we all should still pray for him, I hope there is a cure soon!!!
I've been watching their show lately before falling to sleep at night. It has some really funny scenes. Very good writing and tv shows are just not funny anymore. I enjoy watching again.
Me too. Very witty, they couldn't write this kind of witty show again, without nastiness in it.
Gracefully aged..good times!
Thank you so much for putting this up! If you have the rest of it I'd love to see it.
Michael J. Fox will always be cute no matter how old he gets ♥
Season 8 woulda been a blessing but it ended perfectly. FamilyTies is 🥇💕
still soothes the soul
Just recently here in New South Wales, Australia, about six weeks ago, an episode aired that featured Meredith Baxter Birney's character singing a few 60's songs in a cafe, people, if you can find it, DO SO!, and you will hear a beautiful, beautiful voice.
Sorry, I have no further info regarding what nr. episode, but look for it, you won't be disappointed!.
To Meredith, THANK YOU for letting me hear your incredibly beautiful, heartfelt singing in that episode.
Love....
I remember watching that show it was awesome. Its amazing how they can find peoole who look alike put then together as a family in movies aswell.
Poor MIcheal J Fox. It is sad to watch him but he is a fighter and an inspiration.
Dude, I am sorry to hear about your dad but I am sure you are a great support to him.
It gets on my nerves when people take the piss out of Micheal J. Fox as he is a fine actor who unfortunatley got ill. He is an amazing actor and his autbiography is fantasic.
I think I had a crush on the entire family. Lol
Was just reading that article a few minutes ago from back when Meredith came out. She talks about how she and her now-wife actually were dating at the time this reunions happened, but she wasn't yet out and so she had her stay at the hotel. Later when she did come out, Today show was one of the first places she spoke up.
Yep enjoyed this sitcom as well. Birney and Gross were this wonderfully beloved couple and Fox himself was a riot kinda like Jack Tripper at times
I am 18 and Michael j fox is my best friend, I talk to him on facebook he uses a voice communicator, I love this show its a great show, Michael is so awesome and a great role model.
i saw it only because Michael was the best actor in this serie. i love Michael J Fox!!!
Awesome show !
Kudos. Good comeback, my friend...

I love alex keaton he's funny
I remember as a kid watching this show that I wished my parents were more like Ellese and steven keaton...their relationship was so believable

Happy birthday to me and all the cast. God bless. And happy birthday
