I am curious :Are you always "ninja walking AND is this raw or was smoothness /stabil modified in "post" it cant really look this good just shooting and upload...can it? 8:47 -- My biggest problem with v1 was the epic number of accessories you had to buy and carry around. I'm happy they have a creator pack with all you need, but it's still too many tiny accessories to manage and potentially lose. I'm glad they solved all the problems with v1, but it's still not a compelling reason to get it. I'm fine with my iPhone and OM3.
@NightLife UK Yep for really nice discrete shots just hold it in your hand but it will be a random shot. If you want something more movie like connecting it to your phone is the best option it''s still really discrete.
The phone is nice but the image stabilizationIs killer. There's a place for the phone, there's a place for GoPro. And there's definitely a place for this new Osmo pocket 2. They are tools in the toolbox. Know when to pull out each tool.
Don’t forget about you being in the middle of a shot and your phone going off for something important. I would buy because I need my phone sometimes when im also in the middle of capturing content especially if the moment can’t be recreated… huge deal for me…

@@makatron True, but the question was "can it go toe-to-toe with the GoPro 9?" They're different devices for different purposes. It seems the Pocket 2 has decent but not exceptional low light performance.
The reason I never looked in to the Osmo pocket 1 was the footage looked very muddy and pixellated. It's a shame the new pocket 2 doesn't seem to be much better here, you need to give it loads of light for a half decent shot so people who like to colour grade won't get on well.
That was a fantastic video. You kinda answered the questions I wanted to know. But most importantly, you shot the video WITH the camera. This is what I wanted to see, real world examples.

Little bugger sensor and slightly wider FOV nice too. Will probably order one.
I have the pocket 1 and it’s an amazing little camera. It has smaller sensor and is not so good in low light but overall I am happy with it. I shot my last two vids with pocket 1 while walking around.

Great preliminary review, but the color balance presets are each designated in degrees kelvin if you were to look them up. In today's world, limiting the active tracking to 24 fps 4k or lack of manual focus in such a tiny device doesn't seem like too much of a sacrifice considering the amazing engineering on tap.
No reviewers are discussing if the old accessories like the Osmo Pocket's Control Wheel or the Extension rod work with the Pocket 2, nor are they discussing if the "do it all module" USB C port can do power and data or just power, which was a shortcoming of Osmo Pocket 1's use of a USB C port.
cool new features, I have the 1st gen and love it. Good thing I don't like talking on camera so I don't need the wireless mic. BTW, what neighborhood are you in that has tents everywhere on the streets?
The original Pocket was insane - been shooting with it since it came out and certainly my go to vlog and travel camera! Stoked to see what this one can do, although I was hoping for some bigger upgrades, but the do it all handle looks like a solid addition! Quick question though, can you plug a lapel mic into the wireless mic receiver so you dont have the full mic box on your shirt?

my DJI osmo Pocket has been amazing..does the Pocket 2 have built in wireless control, or do you have to buy a clunky module? My Osmo Action is the best with built in wireless control
Can you use this also as an HD webcam with the wireless mic as the microphone source on a Mac? Would be an awesome solution for many presentation type meeting events. (Such as fitness classes). Even if you can’t use the active track, being able to control the camera with a gimbal would be a plus.
Honestly the video quality seems better on pocket 1 than on 2 the images seem sharper ( the details of your beard much better), I had pocket 1 and from the first videos on the tube, it seemed to me no higher than the quality of the 2, what do you think?

They didn’t fix the biggest problem with version one, it doesn’t have a removable battery, unless it is built in to that thing that plugs in on the bottom and you forgot to mention it.
Colors look better on the Osmo Pocket 1. I wonder if an increased audio bitrate is hurting image quality. The Pocket 2 image looks similar to the Osmo Action quality. I also prefer the look of 26mm lens. It's more pleasing than the wide Gopro look.
Great video. I cant get my head around AFs and AFC . Is AFS like manual focus ? so you click on it once and it's focused at that point. So for example Click AFS once on a landscape. Move behind a rock ( rock should be blurred out) Pan /slide left and landscape will be in focus. AFC always does auto focus Landscape is in focus move behind rocK and it will refocus on the rock when would you use AFS vs AFC Regards
Really I would have liked the do-it-all handle wireless mic to work with Pocket 1. That's the feature I want the most. Not sure I'm going to upgrade to a whole new camera for it vs getting Rode Wireless Go instead.
I got one because of DJI’s mastery of stabilization and object tracking and I'm pretty much happy with it.
I really like how the Pocket 2 is very well designed, it's very light and comfortable to hold.
Actually the Pocket 2 is better than anything out in the market especially being a pocket vlogging camera.

Um the hero 9 is hot garbage especially in low light.

The tri pod bottom is easy to remove if you have the tri pod attached. Wiggle it off rather than a straight pull.
The background blur and colors are looking way better in Pocket 1. Pocket 2 looks flat and GoPro ish. Thanks for the review. Time stamp around 4:35.
