Fantastic upgrade. Exactly what I wanted. I already built the last version of V1, but might tear it out for this. It's a massive QoL improvement. I don't want to jinx it, but so far managed to get it going on my server. Both issues I was having seem to be working now. 64th item not ending up in the chest seems (so far) to work by removing some water at the beginning, had to speed the minecarts up a bit. Shulker unloader dumping minecarts into the item storage system - changed the bottom cart yeeter into a amethyst bud yeeter with a hopper minecart under the cauldron and lowered the dispenser a block with an observer powering it. What was happening the hopper under the cauldron was sometimes too slow to grab the minecart, so it ended up in the water stream with the items instead. This has been my favourite project because without a block-by-block tutorial I've had to study the mechanics and learn how to debug/fix things that go wrong. I feel like I know how this one works a lot more than your previous because of this and have learned a ton about redstone. Cheers
Ohhh exciting! I had almost finished my storage system using v1.2 and I'm glad I'm not finished so I can replace it with this :D always, thanks for the great work!
Also shout out to Ashlaja Im planning to use his farm storage as a mini bulk. Do you forsee any problems with making it bigger? I want to expand it a little or maybe mirror it. Probably just need to change the non stackable and shulker lines? Any minecart logic to be careful of?
You've pretty much settled my conundrum of choosing between vanilla and the Create Mod. Now I can finally get inventory and storage under control without a thousand separate item sorters. Thank-you so much!
Some problems I encountered when scaling up (I have 90 slices / 3 walls of 30 slices): 1. Especially near the item input, the double chest at the very bottom of the slice can get backed up with hopper minecarts before the hopper minecarts make their way around the system to empty those chests. This breaks the system if they back up, so I fixed that by adding an extra double chest for each slice and lowering that very bottom rail line accordingly. 2. Near the end of the system, the auto shut off (pink line iirc) doesn't shut the system off quick enough as there could already be more items on the way. This happened when I overloaded the overflow slice, the hopper minecarts in the item consolidator water stream backed up enough to break the system by sending normal items in the hopper minecart reservoir. I don't have a fix but I assume it could be as simple as raising the pink line/detector rail thing a few blocks up? I reckon moving the detector rail up to the next observer level 4 blocks up could do the trick. Probably only need to raise this pink line after the first 30 slices or so, would need to see at what slice number it fails to stop the input in time.
I'm currently also trying to build this system with 77 slices. In case you did the testing and know where the detector rails need to be raised and by how much lemme know! Would save me a couple of hours ^^'
Wow! So, I'd figured out how to enhance the old one to handle 16-stackable, unstackable, and add a full-speed shulker unloader, plus how to prevent item despawn by locking the whole sorter whenever one of the hoppers in the yeeters was full. And I thought that was it, basically the perfect item sorter. And then you just do this?! Incredible.
This is incredible! I was making a complicated shulker unloader for the old system and was running into item queueing issues on ingest. I love how elegant (compact!) this solution is, and how it all works so well together.
i started building this a few months ago on my survival server, but i ran into problems and paused that project til now. Now i try to fix it again and I realized that i really need a tutorial for this xd
Well. I'm not going to rebuild my V1.2, but I absolutely want this in my world. It seems like I'm going to have yet another base to build, which brings my list of project areas up to 4. Congratulations, and I cannot say enough how deeply I appreciate your focus on engineering it just right and making it as computer efficient as possible. My current laptop is slowly dying, and I generally always design everything in any game to be as lag friendly as possible. Nothing is worse than an area becoming so laggy that you forget what it's like for the game to run smoothly. More lag efficiency means more stuff!
This is amazing. The cart consolidator is amazing. The minecart timing dance is a work of art. I'm getting the same problem as someone else in the comments. When using the shulker unloader, minecart(s) end up on the pressure plate input stream. Then I have to pick it up out of the storage chests and put it back in the shulker unloader minecart input stream. Checked the minecart chests and they're all full. The shulker unloader barrel also has one item in it. Edit: Fixed it. I swapped the shulker box system cart yeeter with an amethyst bud yeeter and it works great. You're a genius.
been using v1.2 for about a week now for all my farm materials, this is most likely gonna be used for my main storage, well deserved like, keep up the amazing work!
What a massive upgrade! I was concerned about the item despawn from last version, and in my design, I had slowed it down to 2x hopper speed so the hoppers could keep up. But now you're telling me I can get it to go 8x hopper speed AND no item despawn??!! Truly a redstone engineering marvel.
The way you've implemented everything is great and has given me ideas for something which I've wanted to do for a while. Basically, I want to build a shopping list input, so in a similar way I want to take out a stack of items per item in the input and drop them in a chest, if the chest gets full it migrates them to a shulker, if there are 27 of the same item detected, it will fill a shulker and deliver that to the out put chest. Great for builder requesting items from a storage system
Been playing around and expanding it quite a bit, one thing to note when you build the tutorial is that if you change the direction of the non stackables water stream you need to add a water logged iron bar to align the items so the minecart for the overflow slice doesn't pick them up at bad timings when the minecarts flow past the water stream
You, sir, are a GENIUS. Absolutely amazing. I cannot wait to build this in my world. The cart consolidator is just a coup de grace. Best of luck in your classes.
Your last design was amazing, it didn't work on our paper server but I ended up figuring out that was due to dead blocks in the game. We changed to fabric and it worked perfectly. It was my first redstone build after a sugar cane farm, lol. I ended up figuring out how it worked after spending a lot of time looking at it (and I mean a lot of time) and after checking out the world download, it seems it will take me a bit of time to figure out how this one works as well. I'd love to just copy and paste it into the world to test it and see if it works but unfortunately that isn't possible on this server. I'm going to keep playing around with it in creative, watching it work to see it in action and hopefully understand it better before I start the build. Great work on this new design.
I commented on this yesterday and my god lummie i actually screamed when i saw it was your channel. Holy shit it has improved so so soooo much!!! Its awesome!
:))) i wish i could be playing to explore these concepts, i loved how you handled item despawn. No corners were left uncovered. I really really like it

absolutely incredible work. the insane potential of the 1.19 hopper minecart is finally being realised!! this is an ingenious system, it's a huge contribution to the community. this is the first storage system that finally convinced me to build it in survival
Finally managed to build one on the SMP I play on. I extended the storage slices to fit every side into a chunk, so I have 3 slices more. Not an easy task, but it was fun ;)
WOW this has everything and it's perfectly compact too, one thing I might modify is to switch shulker and unstackable columns and insert an unstackables sorter at the end but WOW, every release of this just amazes me. Good job, you're forever my favourite redstoner
Works fine on PaperMC using the Eigencraft Setting, Cannot say for the Alternate Current option. Im using this as my main sorting system, and can't find any issues with it. Shame there wasn't a tutorial, but thats fine I can build from schematics easy enough :D. I recommend people take a good look at how the system works, and build chests, then redstone behind it, then move onto the minecart system / input area last. Take some time to paste the schematic in a creative world and learn how it works, how to change filters etc. You also need to update the schematic, theres a piece of redstone dust in the input system right next to the top rail line chest, it locks a hopper when set in a Plus, you need to right click it once into a dot or it will lock the hopper, and cause items to lock up the system. Other than that, works great! Nice work Lummie. Here from TangoTek and his v1 Video
Hi! I see you successfully built this, I was wondering if you would be willing to look at my world download & see what I did wrong? I spent probably hundreds of hours building it from the schematic & have painstakingly checked & re-checked all of the redstone & chests/barrels, but nothing happens when I put items into the input. I fixed all of the common issues I’ve seen in the comments section but to no avail. Thank you in advance!
Already using de v 1.0 whiteout problem. The minecart mechanic actually give us the multi filter at decent speed we always needed, thanks for bring this tech to the community
Lummie, I'm shocked mate, I thought the last version was a game changer, I now have a new definition of "game changer". This is nothing short of Minecraft art at it's very best! I've added 2 modules and it runs so fast and is so reliable. I'm not even going to try to understand how your Minecraft redstone brain works, I'm just so happy it does what it does! Respect! Many thanks from a very grateful fan of your work.
I was literally, LITERALLY just about done with your previous sorter and now you drop this!? xD GOD DANG IT! I'm gonna tear the whole thing down and restart from scratch because this one is just too amazing. Wouldn't be surprised if you got another shoutout because this is a VERY clever system, congratz! Let's blow up your subs! :D
I've built this in my survival fabric server, and here's a couple of things: Sometimes, the piston under the filter chest doesn't retract fast enough, and the next minecart stops and turns around the other way, causing the system to clog up. I suspect the minecarts are going too fast. Observing it, there's normally barely enough time before the next minecart shows up. The shulker loader uses minecarts faster than it recycles them, and the hopper above the minecart ends up having less than 4 minecarts. Because of this, it gets filled with more than 1 stack of items, which ends up going into the minecart system, and later dispensed into the air.
I think I have identified the problem with the shulker loader. When the minecarts get destroyed by the lava cauldron, it's supposed to take the items onto the ice and back to the input chest, while the minecart is supposed to be taken up by the hopper underneath the cauldron. However, at occasional times, the minecart does not fall into the hopper and rather goes on the ice along with the other items. This causes the minecarts in the shulker loader to eventually go empty, which will clog it all up with items. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I'm on a Fabric server with a few optimization mods, but none of them should be changing vanilla behavior.
Are you sure the clock in your input system is right? There should be quite a lot of time between carts going into the slices. That would also make sense why your hopper carts are running out faster than they can come back.
@@lummiethief Uhh, all I know is I insterted one item into the hopper which sends the item back and forth. As well as one item in the barrel on the shulker loader. Haven't had a problem with that in a while now, though. Right now the only problem is at the shulker loader, where the hopper under the cauldron is not always taking up the Minecart. I have to stand there and manually insert new minecarts so it doesn't go empty :/
@@Proclifo Hmm, thats strange. There are two places where carts are broken by cauldrons in the shulker unloader, so if its the top cauldron, you could try putting an extra hopper directly under it. If its the bottom cauldron, you could try replacing the stair-based cart-yeeter with an amethyst cluster one (the one in this video ruclips.net/video/XN4L-MAbjWA/видео.html) Hope that helps fix things!
Built this in my survival world, had just one (avoidable if I wasn't dumb) problem: on the magenta line there's a redstone dust that's right-clicked(so it's a dot) on the world download but not in the schematic, which lets items get into the droppers/dispensers that should contain hopper minecarts
Just awesome man. You and your friends made a great sorter. It could do with about double the amount of sorting stations in my opinion. But from the modular design i see, that should not be that big of a problem. Again. Great build. You will probably make it far if you keep putting out quality stuff like this :)
Amazing! I have had the same issue as some other comments; that mine-carts of the unloader end up on the pressure plate. My solution was to replace the cart-breaker using mud and a amethyst cluster. This seems more reliable than the stair alignment. I am running on dedicated fabric+carpet server.
Wow, what an incredible upgrade. Well done. Was wondering how much better multi-item sorters could get and yours re-invents the wheel yet again. Ashlaja and Talon are great, been following Ashlaja's series for a while - really cool.
Great job, Lummie! The only drawback that I noticed is that a minecart with blocks sometimes flies through a wooden gate and shoots on the rails from above. I hope you can fix it!
Just as I designed a new sorting room around the previous version, this behemoth of a thing came out. Guess it's back to the drawing board, but I'm glad I only got to the schematic phase and didn't build anything in survival yet.
This is one if the first things I thought of when Minecraft released a new experimental snapshot yesterday that changes how Minecarts work. If those changes come into effect then this sorter as well as every other cart yeeting based sorter will be rendered useless.
So sad I have just built version 1.2, this one is more space friendly and has great improvements, I don’t think this can be topped. Keep up the great work, you are insane!!👏🏼👏🏼
Mate, you are a genius... I like a lot this new redesign, the problem with the last version was the despawning items and you solved this pretty well! I think the 1wide tileable version its more flexible and compact and I "solved" despawing items problem working with 16 stackeables mode all the time. Its a bit slower but items will never despawn if u dont put lot of shulkers of the same item. Anways, 1 wide tileable its imposible in this design so make this design 2wide tileable its good choise. Sorry for my poor english and a greeting from Spain!
Yup! This system doesn't completely eliminate the need for the v1 system, so if you don't need the speed, shulkers, despawning fix, hopper locking, etc. then there's no reason to build this over the v1
Hey Lummie! Still looking forward to the tutorial, do you still plan on making one? Not sure if I have the know-how to build it based off a schematic and world download lol
Give it a shot, and read the full comments section here, there are a few people who detail issues. (1) Removal of waterlogged blocks when rotating it 90 (either direction), (2) watching Talon's video on how to place the rails under the shulker box in the unloader properly, (3) don't build it like a 3d print from the schematic, build the slices up a section at a time (first chests, then red section, then water pipe, etc), (4) put the water in LAST, use kelp for slices, (5) look in EVERY hopper/dropper and note contents, put a sign on it with the contents to not forget to fill it. (6) replace the UGLY RED wool behind the chests/hoppers with something gray or more to match your build
Hey Lummie - awesome build!! How did you stop the powered rail under the shulker box (where the cart unloads the shulker) from connecting into the slope above it? My minecarts are getting dispensed but then getting stuck on the ramp before actually getting to the shulker - could also be the mud block?. Other than that - works perfectly!
You have to use some clever rail placing tricks which would be impossible to describe in a comment, but Inspector Talon has a really good video about it called "Cartstone Guide #1: Rail Behavior" and that should give you an idea of how to get the rails like that.
Massive improvements, especially like the mine cart consolidator, that's a game changer. Excellent showcase, looking forward to the tutorial.
This is a masterpiece, and I don't say that lightly. It's nothing but unusual combinations of unknown mechanics

Some problems I encountered when scaling up (I have 90 slices / 3 walls of 30 slices):
Glad you could figure out a fix on your own, it's a completed system!
Such an incredible improvement to an already beast of a system. Well done!
You always know when a redstone video under 5k views gets recommended its gunna be a banger.
This is nothing short of incredible... thanks for all your work, and as a college student too! Big respect man, I know the grind that requires!
Wow. In my opinion this is a gamechanger for MIS systems. Very well done. It will be fun to build 👍
It's actually insane MIS systems can be this simple
been using v1.2 for about a week now for all my farm materials, this is most likely gonna be used for my main storage, well deserved like, keep up the amazing work!
Man this looks so cool, love all the moving parts!
You've been shouted out in a Mumbo video! Awesome!
I legit just finished making v1 earlier today, and then this video comes out
can't wait for the tutorial. I love it!!! Great work y'all did a great job. Subbed, you are so talented.
Perfect timing! I was just about to build one of your previous versions in my minecraft world
Been playing around and expanding it quite a bit, one thing to note when you build the tutorial is that if you change the direction of the non stackables water stream you need to add a water logged iron bar to align the items so the minecart for the overflow slice doesn't pick them up at bad timings when the minecarts flow past the water stream
Hmm, not quite sure what you mean exactly, but I'll look around and see if I can find what youre talking about.
@@lummiethief ill send you a message on discord
Ah i think i am having this issue ! can you point out where you placed it pls.
This is a very impressive design, now time to dismantle my old sorter and build yours.... yay.
Thanks moony! I knew you were gonna like it :)
:))) i wish i could be playing to explore these concepts, i loved how you handled item despawn. No corners were left uncovered. I really really like it
Lummie, you are amazing! The last system has revolutionised storage for me, I can't believe that you have topped that! I cannot wait to build this! I can't thank you enough! Respect!
Super awesome system! Can't wait for the tutorial!
absolutely incredible work. the insane potential of the 1.19 hopper minecart is finally being realised!! this is an ingenious system, it's a huge contribution to the community. this is the first storage system that finally convinced me to build it in survival
It’s awesome. Looking forward to the tutorial. Thanks for the world download.
Finally managed to build one on the SMP I play on. I extended the storage slices to fit every side into a chunk, so I have 3 slices more. Not an easy task, but it was fun ;)
WOW
this has everything and it's perfectly compact too, one thing I might modify is to switch shulker and unstackable columns and insert an unstackables sorter at the end but WOW, every release of this just amazes me. Good job, you're forever my favourite redstoner
impressive! can't wait for the tutorial, so much to learn here!
big improvements over the last one, well done
This is insane. Crazy how fast you can come up with a completely new design.
I love your videos sooo much. Today is my birthday and this feels like a present. 😊
Happy birthday!
I've built this in my survival fabric server, and here's a couple of things:
Sometimes, the piston under the filter chest doesn't retract fast enough, and the next minecart stops and turns around the other way, causing the system to clog up.
Not sure if this makes a difference, but I flipped the schematic 180 degrees. Is there also a specific chunk alignment that should be considered?
If its the bottom cauldron, you could try replacing the stair-based cart-yeeter with an amethyst cluster one (the one in this video ruclips.net/video/XN4L-MAbjWA/видео.html)
Hope that helps fix things!
Built this in my survival world, had just one (avoidable if I wasn't dumb) problem: on the magenta line there's a redstone dust that's right-clicked(so it's a dot) on the world download but not in the schematic, which lets items get into the droppers/dispensers that should contain hopper minecarts
Oh dang thanks for the heads up!
good job brudda, made it to a Mumbo vid, enjoy the new subs and views you get from that.
This is awesome dude. Looking forward to the tutorial 🙂
If it does work with 16 stackables and mixed shulker and plain stack items, that's the perfectly masterpiece I guess.
Can't wait the tutorial
Nice job. Knew it was worth waiting before building your cart MIS :D
Nice Dude! I'm gonna use it! And second!
Just awesome man. You and your friends made a great sorter. It could do with about double the amount of sorting stations in my opinion. But from the modular design i see, that should not be that big of a problem.
Again. Great build. You will probably make it far if you keep putting out quality stuff like this :)
8x hopper speed is amazing but there were features on the v1.2 that I loved like the chest layout and the activation button but great build bro
Amazing!
I have had the same issue as some other comments; that mine-carts of the unloader end up on the pressure plate. My solution was to replace the cart-breaker using mud and a amethyst cluster. This seems more reliable than the stair alignment. I am running on dedicated fabric+carpet server.
Thank you for including the schematic and world download!
how do you open them?
@@Dark_Shad0w1356 just drop the world download into your worlds folder. Schematics you need litematica.
Wow, what an incredible upgrade. Well done. Was wondering how much better multi-item sorters could get and yours re-invents the wheel yet again. Ashlaja and Talon are great, been following Ashlaja's series for a while - really cool.
Ashlaja is so underrated! It was awesome to get to know him and work with him on the project
Great job, Lummie! The only drawback that I noticed is that a minecart with blocks sometimes flies through a wooden gate and shoots on the rails from above. I hope you can fix it!
need this tutorial asap, this is sick
Just as I designed a new sorting room around the previous version, this behemoth of a thing came out. Guess it's back to the drawing board, but I'm glad I only got to the schematic phase and didn't build anything in survival yet.
this is the coolest redstone contraption i've ever seen
This is one if the first things I thought of when Minecraft released a new experimental snapshot yesterday that changes how Minecarts work. If those changes come into effect then this sorter as well as every other cart yeeting based sorter will be rendered useless.
I play bedrock on pc, but this is so cool, I may switch to java and re-learn the game just to build it. Thank you, Sir.
If you want to get into redstone, definitely get the java edition. Redstone SUCKS on bedrock which is a real shame.
Loving it, damn what a beautiful machine
What a great video. You explained everything perfectly
So sad I have just built version 1.2, this one is more space friendly and has great improvements, I don’t think this can be topped. Keep up the great work, you are insane!!👏🏼👏🏼
V1.2 works like a charm tho, I love it as well
I just finished building version 1.0 for 2h ago.
*starts to tear everything down*
I finished building V1.2 a few weeks ago, tempted to tear it down and rebuild this...or maybe build it as a server storage system.
What a poetic start of the video
Damn, this is impressive! Nice work!
This is so cool! Def gonna make it in my world!
@@lummiethief Absolutly agree! Anyways this version its a fantastic upgrade!
Cant wait for the tutorial
This i problebly can use. Great build 🎉
Are you going to make a tutorial? Love your last sorting system. Really want to make this one next!
Very beautiful system !
(6) replace the UGLY RED wool behind the chests/hoppers with something gray or more to match your build
ur channels bout to blow up bro u just got a shoutout from mumbo jumbo (seriously u did!)
Incredible, keep owning king
i came to this channel for a one wide mis. looking forward to a improved version of this
amazing improvements, can't wait to build it on my realm. What happens to items that do not match any of the item filters?
They go to a specified miscellaneous item chest.
You have to use some clever rail placing tricks which would be impossible to describe in a comment, but Inspector Talon has a really good video about it called "Cartstone Guide #1: Rail Behavior" and that should give you an idea of how to get the rails like that.
you need to go to 09:45 on Inspector Talon’s video, he shows there how to do that exact same placement of the rails
Had the same Probleme thank! TY three for asking and answering it :D
same problem here, thx!
@@elpepee2 thank you! This was confusing me so much.
Well its been over a year since this released, but I'm still holding out hope that there'll be a tutorial on this!
Damn, this is a work of genius. My dumb self needs a tutorial for dummies.
man amasing job dude
