Hi Guys!
In today's video, I'm building a New York City Coffee Shop, with Bookstore, a Music Shop + three-partly furnished apartments.

Being a New Yorker myself, this is spot on. Except the sidewalks are a lot dirtier!!!!! This looks like the East Village for sure!

I think you're right about the reason for fire escapes being quick and easy exit from a burning building, especially from a higher floor. I think it's also to do with some buildings not having internal stairways, and elevators are not safe for use during a fire. That's probably in much taller buildings though
Fire escapes excist in case the main stair case is blocked of modern buildings often have a emergency stair case in the building itself which means you don´t need an exterior one I believe, I am not an expert
As a New Yorker, I can confirm that this is TRUE! The general upkeep of fire escapes, however...

I think another good idea for san my would be a fancy office for freelance gameplay and could do it on one of the roof top lots can list it as a cafe to work well but it's sooo amazing for gameplay. Love love this build can't wait for your save file ❤

The British accent helps a lot.
i think you could seperately decorate each apartment, and you could upload the "shell" (the shops without the apartments decorated) and just upload each apartment seperately with the shops / the same way we upload apartments!
With the stairs down the side it kind of reminds me of friends where joey and Ross are climbing down that ladder over each other lol 😍
instead of a coffee shop too in the other district u can do a boba shop !! i just started the video tho

A beautiful build, as always, my only criticism being the guitar shop, as a retail store would have merchandise facing the windows to draw customers into the store. Also, specific to the guitar service industry, a guitar/music shop would realistically need a small area dedicated to musical instrument repairs. A guitar shop would also sell amps and strings, all kinds of "bits and bobs" go along with any stringed instrument. But loved the video...
I work in a library and you are so right about people just flinging their books in a return area. It gets messy so quick! Love the build btw!

Recently I visited Nijmegen, a town in the Netherlands. This reminds me so much of it. Despite the amount of different structures and aesthetics, furniture and clutter, in the end: everything comes together. What an awesome build!

This is gorgeous. I wish for Sims 4 - that they do something similar to Sims 3, by giving us worlds. Like New York City, Paris, Oaxaca, Tuscany....

Very cool. Have you thought about building something similar for a new town? In terms of exterior. Also apartment buildings of 3-4 floors with cafes, shops, some kind of laundry or second-hand shop downstairs?
I live in New York and I used to live in the city area but moved to a rural area. This build really brings back nostalgia for me. [Sadly I can't use this build in my world bc I only have the base game lol] Still, this is a great build, keep it up!

Your talent is astonishing ! How have you learned to build such things, I am curious and jealous at the same time, so you have a tutorial for beginners like a guide to build at least a decent house i tried to build one but I couldn’t find the foundation…
You should build a sushi house or manga shop in Mt. Komorebi (edit) This looks like the set of Friends or Girl Meets World

I love the industrial vibe of the coffee shop! I'd definitely love to see you create one with some CC, perhaps using only the Rise&Grind set from Littledica or Cold Brew from Pierisim. I'm sure you'd do an incredible job 🥰
I’ve already built a coffee shop/ cafe using CC too! It’s not industrial though because I was building some Parisian apartments and wanted the retail part to also feel like it was set in Paris! & thank you! 🥰🤍

Elevators are generally shut down during building fires. If there's a fire on the third floor, people above that floor are safer using an internal concrete stairwell or exterior fire escape.
You’re correct. Fire escapes are on the outside especially if the fire is inside.

I am missing 3 packs though.... Journey to Batuu, Spa Day and Dine out.... Are they very essential to the build? Sigh - I might even just get them simply for this - because it's everything I was looking for....

There is one detail I might suggest to make it even more NYC. A lot of the old buildings are called “dumbbell tenements” (one you google it you’ll see) and the bricks on the interior of these shaft spaces are the ugliest bricks you can imagine Bc it was economical to put these there since they weren’t gonna be seen from the street. Awesome build!

I love this so much. I am a huge fan of coffeeshops. Made one for Chelsea Caghera. It was added in her gallery (Kagherah90). It has two parts. I wanted to build another one for my account. But my username couldn't be changed for some odd reason.
