    My word that was painful - I had this ready early in the evening yesterday but it's taken me over 24 hours to render due to my laptop not being up to the task. As a result, the quality of the video won't be at the same level as normal, but hopefully it's still all good for what was a very busy month in the JRPG sphere.
    In the mean time I've made the decision now that I need to focus on getting my new computer up and running, a new motherboard is on the way currently but I'll take a break from videos until it's sorted - doing this on my laptop is absolute torture and it's starting to affect my sleep schedule.
    At the moment it's a case of just testing every part 1 by 1 as this is an issue I've never seen before and it's extremely peculiar. Hopefully the end is in sight though as I'm ticking off the parts that are definitely fine as I go, unfortunately it's just one of those horrible situations where you just have to do a lot of trial and error till you find the culprit.

    • @flameshana9
      @flameshana9 Год назад

      May I ask why the laptop's speed was an issue? Did you mean the video editing or the encoding time? If it's the encoding you can just use a speedier setting since RUclips will re-encode it anyways.

    • @TheKisekiNut
      @TheKisekiNut  Год назад

      @@flameshana9 it simply can't deal with the rendering process. Any transition coild freeze the rendering and I have to start all over again. Plus I can't render the specific loops because it can happen at any point. The only way around it would be to remove all transitions between scenes.

      I honestly didn't notice, but i know how that feels. I can't render a thing on my 6 year old strix gaming laptop now, it pushes the temp up to 90! hopefully you get your new computer up and running, rendering isn't fun when its long!

    • @jclosed2516
      @jclosed2516 Год назад

      @@TheKisekiNut Indeed - I also don't think so. And even if the Secret series gets a fourth game I think it won't be about Ryza. It would not surprise me if they keep the world, but go for another protagonist just like the older Atelier games. Maybe Ryza will get a guest appearance or (like Rorona) get's a teacher role.
      Anyway - It would not surprise me if another (non Atelier) game is around the corner. Maybe the third and last part of Blue Refelection? Honestly - That game had some (kind of) closure, but has so many things left open that are screaming for a final resolve. Maybe they finally bring the Ar Nosurge games to PC? Maybe revive Chronos Materia, but now for all platforms in English? But at the other hand, it's also possible that there will be something completely different. Who knows?

    Does anyone know if the japanese double pack of Atelier Ryza 1 and 2 will have the option to have Englisch text? Most versions do, but I do not find any confirming information and playasia usually lables those games from Japan with (Englisch) and in the case of the double pack there is no such hint. I would be quiet irritated though to witness a game which isn´t multilingual regarding the text nowadays. Any info? Thanks in advance.

I’m as frustrated as anyone about the long waits for Trails but there is never any justification for that level of ridiculousness. Honestly the wait won’t even bother me anymore with the floodgates opened on all these announcements. Think I can fill my backlog for the next 2 years at this point. Trailsx4, Valkyriex2, Harvestella, DQ treasures, Samurai Maiden, Neptunia, Ryza, Suikoden, Zelda, not to mention the old games already out there I hope to get around to someday.

    I think most Trails fans that haven't played Suikoden will love it; there are heaps of similarities in as much as the fact that they both have fantastic world building over the multiple games with all the political intrigue and drama (there is probably a few more characters that actually die in Suikoden), great stories and fun turn based action mechanics. As much as I love the Trails games, Suikoden 2 is a worthy rival to any of them.

      Hmmm... I will take a look at it, but I am not really convinced. One thing about the remaster. Why in the hell did they do good backgrounds, character portraits and so on, but leave the actual "sprites" completely pixelated? That a weird choice if you ask me, and honestly I think it pulls down that "remaster" title to "partially remaster". Anyway - As promised I will take a look at it...

      I am looking forward to playing Suikoden myself. My friend played the PS 1 version this year. And his disc was dying. He couldn't even show the bathhouse. But what i really want the remaster to fix is Gregminster in 2 being french. The German PS 1 version had french text for some reason. The story cutscenes were all normal and the sidequest with that one character too. But the ninjas and all the other NPCs spoke french, even the recruitable characters. We never knew what Lorelai was saying and had to use a guide to recruit her, because most Germans do not speak french. But I am really excited, because Suikoden is great. I am so happy that I am finally able to play it myself. I am a Nintendo child, so I never owned a playstation.

    As of commenting this video, I have played the Harvestella Demo. I really liked it. It was a nice change of pace after almost breaking my hand fishing up that Boss fish in Ys 8. I think I'm going to really like Harvestella. And I'm really thankful for those sandwiches I was given in the mail. I couldn't have finished Chapter 2 without them. I also finally finished Castlevania Aria of Sorrow. With every soul in the game! Now I need all the shards in Bloodstained. But in regards to Suikoden, I think you're really gonna like the game. And if you want to know a small fun fact: The German localization for Suikoden 2 had some weird oversight, because a certain area was somehow not translated into German. Everyone in that area spoke french. The story text was fine, but the entire city and that one village had every textbox in french. And there were like 2 or 3 characters you had to recruit there. Hopefully the Remaster manages to fix that part. Maybe we will finally be able to do those recruitments in normal german and not have to look at a guide to tick the correct french textbox XD. Oui Oui, le baguette.

      Yeah - A bit sad that the Falcom does not fit in that pattern because their games take more than 2 years in general. That does not excuse that stupid hate some fans radiate, of course. I would love to see Falcom getting closer to translators more earlier on and at the game developing stage. That way English translated games can be released much closer in time to their Japanese counterparts. Sure, some parts will be scrapped and some parts will be changed along the way, but at least there is a solid core to start with, reducing translation time immensely.

    I'm really not a fan of Nis America. Just that.
    That being said, this last month was extremely slow for me. However, Star Ocean and P5R look like an excellent way to end the year.
    Edit: while I'm not a fan of NISA I actively hate Denuvo. Wouldnt be surprised if Atlus decided to try the new Switch build for Denuvo for a spin, effectively ruining Switch owners experience. Pirates would have the better version if piracy wasnt on its death throes.

    i'm suprised you're not stumbling over your tongue with how fast you're announcing all of the news. at times i'd like some more bits, maybe slowing down, but with 20 minutes here, that would turn it into a pretty long video then, unless you were to split them up into multiple ones.

      He's fast, but sounded quite clear and fine to me. It's a trade-off I guess. Maybe some folks like a slower presentation, but I appreciate his efficiency. I follow a handful of JRPG channels that do news round-ups like this, and TKN is my personal favorite for this exact reason: He's got a polish to his presentation that's a tier above imo. Just my two cents as a counterweight to this in case he's still gathering fan feedback! :)

      I try to strike a balance between speed, information and quantity of stories. It's served me well and keeps most people up to speed for each month so I don't see a reason to change it as of now.

    Dang it, i was looking forward to Stellar blade but its PS exclusive.
    I was joking about what Kiryu was doing after 6 but i never expected 'Man who erased his name' to be that follow up (sort of) to that, lol. Isshin is finally coming west but i wonder if Yakuza Dead Souls would get some notice aswell.
    Honestly how much of a twat do you need to be to send death threats to game makers or translators for fault that are not theirs.
    Persona 5 Royal soon on PC finally but whats the word on the remake of 3?

    IDK i had a feeling that suikoden got remake because the eiyuden hype and konami didnt want to miss the chance. but since most of suikoden's staff is move to make eiyuden konami cant make suikoden 6 and just remaster suikoden 1 & 2 for cashgrab

    • @SeventhheavenDK
      @SeventhheavenDK Год назад

      Yes, yes, we know that story already.
      Get over it, Eiyuden wouldn't have existed without Suikoden, and this is business anyway, I don't see that move different from Eiyuden taking advantage of the Suikoden name reminding you it is a spiritual successor everytime in every trailer and at every corner cashing on the nostalgia of old Suikoden fans.
      I am just happy that two of favorite childhood games, Suikoden 1 and 2 (especially 2) are getting remasters and are available on modern console, but precisely because of these type of annoying comments I have lost any interest I could have had on Eiyuden.

    Jrpgs are losing their charm imo. A lot of what I enjoyed has been abandoned. When I talk about jrpgs I liked, I find myself saying: the old y's or the old Final Fantasy or the old Dragon Quest. I really hope they start going back to what was loved by the fans that built their brands to what they were before trying to "sell out" to all the new gamers. It'll never happen but I can dream haha

      I mean....jrpgs are just fine. There aren't any problems with them and in fact have gotten even bigger and in the tier of a lot of genres.
      It sounds like it's just a you problem.

      Dragon Quest has been consistent for a long time in terms of gameplay and story, hell there’s even a classic mode for Dragon Quest 11. Square Enix still releases games that tries to appeal to classic JRPG fans. Bravely Default,Octopath,Lost Sphear, I am Setsuna to name a few. Not to mention the onslaught of indie games that try to capture that classic feeling. Maybe try to find newer games that capture that feeling instead of obsessing over old ones.

    • @jatats7743
      @jatats7743 Год назад

      @@kiddkd7242 I've played and own all of those games... I'm definitely not obsessing over anything bud, but every time I make a purchase looking for that JRPG experience, almost always feel let down by either a bland story, overly cutesy graphics or cutscenes, goofy dialogs and bad writing etc, etc. What I notice is if they get a major part (or parts) of the formula right, they botch it up in some other important element of the game. This all just my opinion. Wish I could make a game. Maybe someday.. Haha
      I think octopath is the only game you mentioned that I didn't end up disliking- and it's not without faults.
