''The Course of True Love II'' was the most legendary RDR2 Mission. The music, the scripted sun setting, the hazy tabbaco fields and a cowboy trodding along on his horse really, really showcased the brilliance of that game. Of course most people probably just quickly blasted through that mission and didn't really take it in as i did but yeh, was an epic moment for me.
Sadly I won't be watching the video because i have only played Witcher and Skyrim. All of these games are on my playlist, will definitely play them one day.
As soon as the Titanfall 2 level came up I had to subscribe. Easily one of the best missions I played as a kid, and you seem to have a skill at breaking down why these levels are remembered so fondly. Keep up the great work
Titanfall 2 Effect and Cause was an awesome experience. It was a perfect combination of storytelling, awareness, positioning and control. The game is already 7 years old...
The Hunt was an amazing yet horrifying quest, it pulled at my heart strings, and made me physically sick. I've never had another game do that to me. Amazing game. Another good quest was killing moon quest, the whole phantom liberty DLC was a mindf*ck, and I didn't know who I could trust. One of my favorite DLCs
I haven't made it to track 11 on Hi Fi Rush yet, but I was grinning from ear to ear in the intro where you realize every single thing in the game is in sync.
I'm glad to see that a classic COD mission was mentioned in your list. I recently replayed the peak COD games (in my opinion) starting from COD 4 up to Black Ops 2, in order. I remember my neck freezing up as a kid when I played through All Ghillied Up and I always fucked up the crawling part, it took some growing up a few years later to finally beat that mission haha. There's this one mission that I really appreciated now that I'm older and consider it in my most memorable and legendary missions, Black Cats from World at War. For a 15 minute rail shooter mission, it hits hard and heavy with the short story, voice acting, intensity, and in my eyes the best thing it has, the music. I highly recommend anyone to give that mission a try and experience it firsthand like I did.
As soon as that skyrim music played i got chills, so many memories and a ridiculous amount of nostalgia. I would get lost for hours on end just traversing the world, doing sidequests and sometimes just sitting and taking it in. My favorite game ever and one that will never be replicated.
its nice to see someone mention that borderlands quest, its always been one of my favorites and perfectly encapsulates what makes borderlands so fun to play
Very big props for putting the Pillars of Eternity quest in here. It’s a bit out of left field up next to these bigger games but it’s one of the most memorable quests I’ve come across. Great video.
God I love Mass Effect, everything from the atmosphere, the action, even the clunky dialogue, but most of all the soundtrack, whether its the map music, or Vigil, the soundtrack makes you really feel like you're apart of the world.
Finding myself borderline stressed over the wind farm BTs, realizing that the trigger balance was fatiguing my fingers, the moment I first see Port Knot City and the music hits, it was one of the very few games to make me feel like I was really in the shoes of the character I was playing.
I remember Jacksepticeye saying something like the game really makes you feel tired and when you make your delivery and enter the private room you'll feel relieved. It really feels like you've just finished your job for the day. I couldn't agree more with him. The game really puts you in Sam's shoes and I love it. I know that people don't like it and even make memes about the "strand type game", but honestly I want to see more of walking type games, because in some games I actually do enjoy just walking around. Like I've been thinking about a game where you walk through a post apocalyptic country in one continuous gameplay where you can do parkour and make a tent to sleep and save the game. In your journey, you'll come through many different old world structures and even some random players. Basically a combination of DS, Dying Light, The Last of Us, and Journey. That's my dream game.
@@gdottothegamer1001 I'd really enjoy to see the walking mechanics of this somehow manageably implemented in other games with focuses on other types of combat somehow meshed in. Like, I think of taking games I enjoy and making the travel between places more death stranding like, such as Fallout. Seeing as you already play as a courier
I’d argue that meeting Sovereign is a better candidate. Damn It’s a shame I will never again experience it for the first time… I understand where you’re coming from. Keep up the good work!
Ya I honestly had Virmire as my pick until right before I wrote just because I remembered how Noveria was what originally made me a huge fan of the series and overall I like the entire mission more, but damn is the sovereign speech probably the single best couple minutes in the entire series
@@Rapunzel879I’m trying to put a counter argument here and literally cannot think about anything... Every mission, every side quest adds to the universe.
The fact that you said that cyberpunk 77 was good at launch in spite of the lamentations of the outcry of bugs; earned you a sub. I played 77 at launch on pc and loved it. You absolutely earned the sub. Keep making great content. Loved this video.
Also I know it’s not quite the same but I’d like to throw out two more missions that I believe are absolutely iconic. The first one isn’t a “mission” per se but the ending of the first chapter of Yakuza 0, storming the Dojima Family HQ culminating in the first Kuze boss fight, is what made me absolutely fall in love with the game. Secondly, there’s a ton of missions in Red Dead 2 that I think go above and beyond in terms of being genuinely epic and amazing, but special props to “My Last Boy” and “Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern” for being beautiful, stylish, cinematic missions
RDR 2 having you rolling up to the Braithwaite manor with the full gang, music going, beautiful scenery and violence in the air before you even see the first enemy is a 10 outta 10 for me.
This video is so well made and the missions are described so well, i believe you should make this a series... highlighting legendary missions and quests. Would watch in a heartbeat.
Thanks for bringing up the Death Stranding level. It’s easily a top 5 moment in gaming history for me. The fact that the mission is so taxing and it rewards you with that view and that song…it just clicks. All the sudden, it feels intentional and it’s just…beautiful
It's so nice to see Dying Light get a nod. That first game was really something special, with a few side missions sticking with me even now. This was one of them.
Good job, I would add the Ashtray Maze from Control, missions from the Ezio trilogy, like Frequent Flyer with Leonardo Da Vinci machine, or Far Cry 3 Make it Bun Dem
I know at some point there needs to be a cut off so the video can actually be made, but “Going Hunting” from battlefield 3 is such an awesome and iconic mission
Paragon of her kind from Dragon Age Origins. I've never been as shocked in any game as much as by the revelations of the nature of the darkspawn in that quest. The claustrophobic tensions you feel after several areas of the deep roads, paired with the mad dwarf whispering her poem leading up to the boss fight ... utterly chilling and still so damn memorable even after 14 years. "because it just wasn't clicking" is imo the perfect description of Prey. I can't say why because the idea is really great and the presentation is really well done, and horror sci-fi is totally my thing, but the game never managed to make me care for any of the characters, the station or most of the plot. The enemies appear to be super intriguing from outside but most of them end up being mostly annoying after half the game. The mimic ability is so unique and yet it somehow doesn't excite. I feel like this game has so much potential idea wise, but for reasons I can't put a finger on, it doesn't live up to them.
For me the Fountain head Palace from sekiro is one of the most beautiful and stunning areas/quests i've ever seen in a game. From the introduction to the palace, with the rope monster, to the Corrupted monk (Amazing fight btw), then the palace with all of it's amazing and fun enemies to fight. And lets not forget the lake with the masive carp in it.... And finally one of the best boss fights i've ever had in any game, the Divine Dragon, this boss fight was so stunning, the scenery was so stunning, the execution was amazing and it just felt so rewarding to finally get there.. 100% one of the best places i've ever played through and i'll never forget it.
Pillars of Eternity love!!!!! Funny, I recently thought of that very quest just recently out of the blue. You are right: it's something you remember. Though, as far as I am concerned, the whole game is that way. I'm still getting to the quests you mentioned in Cyberpunk and BG3, looking forward to them (I skipped those parts to avoid spoilers)
I was so pleasantly surprised someone else appreciates Noveria as much as i do. One more thing i'd like to add to your amazing assessment is how the initial spaceport area makes you feel while replaying the game and knowing what is yet to happen. It's maybe the final peaceful, serene area you get to experience. The blizzard outside, the mysterious, but relaxing music... I'd spend hours just standing in the spaceport absorbing it all in. It's really one of the greatest video game levels ever created.
My favourite missions and feelings that I remember from games, 1. The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine: La Cage Au Fou The atmosphere, voice acting, weather, music and sound effects takes you to another world. The moment you reach the location, it's an otherworldly experience. It makes you realize why The Witcher 3 is so loved. 2. Hogwarts Legacy: Intro The moment you start the game and till you sorted into the house has been done incredibly well. The music, voice acting, locations and introduction to the story was beyond nostalgic. The overall game is 7.5-8/10 but the intro for me is 10/10. 3. Red Dead Redemption 2: The last two debt collection missions It's the debt collecting mission from man named Arthur. He died. The way Arthur says sorry to her is just heartbreaking. I have never heard better voice acting from any video game character than that. Also, when you meet the Nun at the station. The scene that told me that why I spent $60, bought the game on launch day and played for 70 hours. The most real scene I have also seen in a video game. It felt like Arthur was a real human at that moment. 4. A Plague Tale: Innocence - The whole game For a few years, I used to buy 8-10 rated AAA games only because I didn't want to spend too much money on games. However, this game changed everything. I got the game for free. I felt so good after playing the game that I wanted to pay full price for it. The time period the game takes place in is just beautifully haunting. 5. Uncharted 3: Plane Mission The best set-piece I had ever witnessed in a game in terms of cinematic and believability. It's a thing I can showcase to anyone I know and they will be impressed. I played that part 20+ times just to show to non-gamers and none were disappointed. All of them were glued to the TV. 6. Half-Life Alyx: The intro sequence It just feels real. I was so amazed by the graphics, scale and interactivity that I forgot everything. This was something that all gamers dream about. Being in the game without consequences. 3 and half years later no game can match Half-Life Alyx's immersion. AAA VR game, we may not get for another 10 years. 7. Horizon Series I always wanted people to be alive inside the mountain. I really did. It lead me to play the whole game. I just wanted to know about the past more and more. That usually never happens to me in a game. This game got me back into gaming because after playing The Witcher 3, I thought no game will surpass that. I didn't care much about the tribes but the past I wanted to know everything. Then the VR version came out, and you were able to see the scale of all machine. 8. Red Faction: Guerilla The red planet, I can never forget that. I played it at low settings on my PC. It ran badly but the shooting was really fun. The first open world game I ever played. Before that I used to play WWE, NBA 2K and many linear action adventure games. 9. Shadow of the Colossus: The first monster VR isn't the first time scale surprised me so much. This was it. I had no idea what I bought for my PS2. I just got it. I stood there for 5 minutes, real time, just looking at size of the monster. The moment I killed it, I felt bad because of the music but it did make me feel as a 14 year old. 10. Age of Empires 2: The story narration at the beginning of every campaign mission It made me interested in learning the history of the world and about our past. It was 2004 when my brothers used to play it. I used to watch. The first time we got a computer. Somehow, even now when I go to that game, it reminds me of those times while also being a good game. There are too many to mention on a list but these are what I remember right now.
i think the best quest ive ever played would be my last boy from rdr2, charging towards the oil field with your boys with that badass music playing is an experience i will never forget
I'm so happy you mentioned Hi-Fi Rush Track 11. As I've aged, I've enjoyed story games less and less. But, this penultimate level hit so perfectly. I ended up S ranking this Track on all difficulties
45:40 also to mention that insanely awesome cutscene when they introduce the villain. That cutscene intro for the boss fight is what made me buy this game
Such a great video!! I think a couple others that belong in the list are Money Lending and Other Sins from RDR2 and the moving house level toward the end of Control. Money Lending and Other Sins is the single best story side mission I’ve ever played and I swear several movies could be made of just that one alone. The moving house level in Control is just mind blowing, especially with the namesake song blaring through the whole level.
The Kafei and Anju quest in Zelda Majoras Mask will forever be my favorite Some others tho: The Cave of Dreams in Witcher 3 shows some great insight into characters minds including Geralt’s Fears. Hidden in Plain Sight in Uncharted 4 has the best puzzle in any naughty dog game as well as some of the best action in any game. The Man With No Name missions in RDR is one of the best stranger mission in any rockstar game and has a great reference to classic westerns. The First Chapter of resident Evil 4 is the pinnacle of game openings IMO and obviously very popular. Helping the Wookiee Liberate Kashyyk in Kotor 1 is also incredibly moving.
Keep it up, brother! Excellent work! I actually just started the quest line in Cyberpunk 2077 with The Perales couple and Detective Ward. This is my second playthrough after the Phantom Liberty and 2.0 and 2.1 updates. I love Cyberpunk 2077. It comes in a close second to The Witcher Wild Hunt as my favorite game of all time. I have a set of games I play annually and those two are on that list. My two sons and I look forward to your upcoming videos. You've got 3 big fans here in Texas!
Can't agree more on that death stranding mission. One of the most memorable moments in gaming for me, even though there is no crazy action or narrative, just atmosphere and beauty
I really enjoy your content because you're an excellent writer and reflect deeply on stories in games (something that many creators ignore or gloss over, as they focus on gameplay). AND you share my deep love for CD Projekt Red, which immediately earns you brownie points. Keep up the wonderful work, mate! P.S. I dunno if you've played them, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on TLOU and TLOU2 someday. Judging by the thoughts you've expressed in the past about Cyberpunk's emphasis on human connection in a world led astray, I think you'd love the themes present in both the TLOUs.
Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite series ever, Assassin's Creed III is very underrated, and The Battle of Bunker Hill is one of the most lively assassination missions in the series.
Some missions I wanna add that still stick with me to this day: 1. Uncharted 2 - the whole train mission/sequence (and I love how it all circled back to the game's intro) 2. GTA 4 - The Bank Heist 3. COD: WAW - Vendetta (but holy shit this game has so many banger chapters though, it's hard to pick one when Black Cats, Heart of the Reich, and Downfall are also in the same game) 4. Resistance 2 - Bryce Canyon (but the Chicago level is a close second with that last boss) 5. COD: MW2 - Cliffhanger (I just love snowy missions, and this is one of the few missions in MW2 I still play from time to time)
2 of the first 3 are made by Arkane Really sad to see the state of their current games. Deathloop was such a disappointment and somehow it got even worse. They do put out some bangers DLCs tho, the 2 daud DLCs for the first dishonored game is probably my favourite game.
Not that Prey doesn't deserve to be here but I love your love for that game spills over into almost every one of your videos. The game didn't end up clicking with me but I'm sure it's amazing just based on how well you've articulated the game's strenghts on this channel. Prey is a game that requires the player's full attention from the first minute, and nowadays it's really difficult for me to do between work, family and working out. It's easy with something like Armored Core 6 where I only have to focus in for a specific period during boss fights before I can relax again. Prey is a different beast though and I totally appreciate just how much it demands from the player and gives back in return. Reminds me of Half-Life (the OG) from when I was a kid. Games that absorbing are very few and far in between. Thank you for the great videos and I look forward to see Prey being mentioned in future videos too :)
Great video! For Fallout 3, I would have personally chosen The Power of the Atom. Nuking Megaton was and always will be one of the most surreal experiences I’ve had in a video game. I honestly don’t know if I’ve ever had the same feeling in a game since. The mix of shock, awe, and sadness when you realize what you’ve done will never be topped for me.
I'd add something from Disco Elysium and a Monastery quest or "the one that ends in drinking with a priest" quest from Kingdom Come Deliverance. Maybe something from Morrowind, where you have to make through tough encounters while also not getting lost and understanding the clues. I love that selection, at least the RPG(adjacent) and Immersive Sim-y part, no Halos and the likes for me, I don't shoot in games if I don't have a character sheet and some stats/skills behind that shooty gameplay
The Cyberpunk mission that got stuck in my head is the Sinnerman questline. It tackled moral and ethical issues specific to that universe, essentially that mission could only exist in cyberpunk and it was very well executed.
Lone wolf from halo reach holds a place in my heart forever, it is the culmination of a wonderful and tragic storyline the first time i played it i couldn’t believe i lost and i tried and tried again to win but just wasn’t able to. it embodied the whole idea of the game the fact that you couldn’t save reach no matter how u tried that noble teams story was all ready written you cant save them, it was perfect.
i love these picks omg they completely allign with my fav quests too! i kept thinking about "the hunt" from cp2077 for a while now as it always comes back to me once in a while. and house of hope is for sure the most immersive, scary, intriguing quest in bg3
I think the Shadow Moses level of MGS4 deserves a mention. It's a haunting moment for Snake and the player as we return to where it all started in the first MGS. From the soundtrack welling into these harrowing but beautiful songs, to the hidden flashbacks hitting you like PTSD episodes and the bossfight redux of Sniper Wolf followed by a literal mech battle between Metal Gear Rex and Metal Gear Ray, piloted by Snake and Liquid respectively, it's just such an incredible mission that celebrates everything that makes MGS great. It's painful, it's bittersweet, it's ridiculous, it's funny, it's sad and it's emotional. It's the love letter to the fans in a game that's meant to be serviceable at an insane degree. It's also the penultimate chapter, just before all hell breaks loose and Snake's story comes to a heartbreaking finale.
Alright, first of all, how did you miss to put in the uncharted 3 plane mission?? Its literally the thumbnail of this video. If anything in a video game was legendary, it would be that mission when the plane is crashing. I am offended it was not included!
There are a lot of intriguing quests in Cyberpunk, but my all time favorite for tone setting is Sinnerman. You get every aspect of the dystopian setting through that questline.
For me, the best cutscene ever is right after you fight off some dogtown dab guys as V while Songbird remote pilots a giant spider mech. She loses control of the mech which goes haywire on V, desperately crawling through walls and chaotically destroying everything in its path to get to you as V visibly panics, trying to get away. Honestly, some of the highest adrenaline I'd ever felt playing a videogame
I’d like to add one mission/level to this list and it’s the Yarikawa mission from ghost of Tsushima, you fight off tens of Mongolians then have a boss fight where you gain the “ghost” stance by chopping the head off the Mongolian warlord and watching them run away in fear made me feel goosebumps
I trusted Cerys so much that I didn't hesitate for a moment to yeet that baby into the furnace. Great quest and I suspected something was up when she said to burn the kid. Also, the Oblivion mansion quest was, to this day, one of the best and most creative quests of any RPG I've played.
Shivering Isles DLC was top notch too. The one mission where you essentially get to do "Cabin in the Woods" to a group of random dungeon raiders is my favorite of all the Bethesda games.
You should definitely do a part 2 naming some great missions like Four leaf clover from GTA IV or traveling to Mexico in RDR1 and Money laundering from RDR2
Death Stranding is full of those missions where it knows you've been put on a tedious, arduous, nerve wrecking, isolating mission, but rewards your ability to keep on keeping on with a lovely song and a beautiful vista, giving a sense of comfort and belonging afterwards.
Really glad death stranding order 14 was included. And the emphasis on the song after the journey, it sold me too. Still play it in the mix every now and then
On the topic of Dying Light, my personal favorite moment after over 2k hours of playing is such a simple moment in The Following Youre tasked with finding someone at an old hut of sorts. You get there and its locked. Find a way in, you see a hole in the floor and hear this ghastly wailing You venture deeper because of COURSE youre going to. You stumble into a dark cave, the wailing still audible. As you get further in, you find it A volatile is in the cave in one of those cluster spots. Against everything youve learned up to this point, it speaks "Please!! It... burns...!" Its a person in the middle of transforming You can leave, let it take its course and be safe yourself. Or, you can put the poor thing out of its misery, thus also stirring the hive Its such a simple moment but next to the first night run you ever do, this was a moment i can never forget in this game
I'm so glad you put whodunit in here. That was the first quest that came to mind reading the title of this. Oblivion had such fun quests. You can kill a guest by waiting until a specific time when one of them sits in a chair, going upstairs and loosening a deer mount on the other side of the wall, causing it to fall on the dudes head and kill him. Honorable mentions, the dark brotherhood dead drop switch Stealing an elder scroll for the thieves guild The quest inside a painting Most of the Daedric statue quests And anything for Sheogorath
there's actually a section in the DLC for Callisto Protocol where you have to hack a terminal to acquire a powerful hammer. and as you begin hacking you can see enemies to pulling open the door which automatically forces the player to hack faster or he's toasted. that moment you really feel like a badass
wow this guy has some great taste and is obviously a stud, huge fan
Thanks, me
Noice, I'dd add that your mission selection is sexy as hell (although I've been playing almost exclusively cRPGs, RPG adjacent games, and Immersive Sims since 1990 and some of the shooty-actiony games don't mean much to me)

For a 15 minute rail shooter mission, it hits hard and heavy with the short story, voice acting, intensity, and in my eyes the best thing it has, the music. I highly recommend anyone to give that mission a try and experience it firsthand like I did.
That mission was epic.. I remember it even if its so long ago
Those games made so many history nerds later in life
Red Dead Redepmtion 2 - All Main Story Missions is Legendary
The relaxing sound effects and the brain massaging voice really blend together to give a comforting yet intriguing content! We love this channel dude.
Thank you so much!
Noveria is absolutely amazing. You just inspired me to replay Mass Effect.
i think mission from battlefield 3 where we fly a fighter jet should be on this list, it is so realistic and breathtaking after all these years
THANK YOU for appreciating The Hunt. Nobody talks about that questline, or River Ward as a whole, and it saddens me
As soon as that skyrim music played i got chills, so many memories and a ridiculous amount of nostalgia.
Thank you for watching!
I've just done Possession in The Witcher 3 and I can confirm it was a harrowing experience.
So many great quests in the Witcher for sure, and thank you so much for watching!
Very big props for putting the Pillars of Eternity quest in here. It’s a bit out of left field up next to these bigger games but it’s one of the most memorable quests I’ve come across. Great video.
Thank you for watching!
Starcraft 2 In Utter Darkness is the GOAT mission for me. Oldie but goldie.
Oh damn I almost added this one 😂, I had a bunch but video would have been like 3-4 hours if I included everything lol
I’d argue that meeting Sovereign is a better candidate. Damn It’s a shame I will never again experience it for the first time…
I understand where you’re coming from.
Keep up the good work!
Also choosing The Hunt over Peralezes is actually a great choice.
Ya I honestly had Virmire as my pick until right before I wrote just because I remembered how Noveria was what originally made me a huge fan of the series and overall I like the entire mission more, but damn is the sovereign speech probably the single best couple minutes in the entire series
@@FranklyGamingFor me it was Feros and Torian.
Thanks man for another great vid!
Dude, almost every mission in Mass Effect should be featured in this video.
@@Rapunzel879I’m trying to put a counter argument here and literally cannot think about anything... Every mission, every side quest adds to the universe.
Honestly one of the first ‘best missions’ I think of is the rdr2 mission after hearing jack been kidnap
The fact that you said that cyberpunk 77 was good at launch in spite of the lamentations of the outcry of bugs; earned you a sub. I played 77 at launch on pc and loved it. You absolutely earned the sub. Keep making great content. Loved this video.
Thank you for the support!
@@FranklyGaming Thanks for the quality videos.
for me, the most memorable mission was in CoD: Ghosts, where youd disguise as the guards and go into the underground facility. I loved it so much
Also I know it’s not quite the same but I’d like to throw out two more missions that I believe are absolutely iconic.
Ya I’ll for sure talk about more, I try to make all the stuff a similar style so you might like other videos too just different topic
you for got the: all you got to do is follow the damn train
this deserves to have a part 2
based on what ive played, the most memorable missions for me was how reactive it was and how dynamic the narrative is from OG RPG's titles
This video just solidified the fact that you’re one of my favorite creators on this site
Thank you very much!
including a mass effect game but not using the suicide mission from me2 is criminal
Thanks for bringing up the Death Stranding level. It’s easily a top 5 moment in gaming history for me. The fact that the mission is so taxing and it rewards you with that view and that song…it just clicks. All the sudden, it feels intentional and it’s just…beautiful
Such an awesome game overall honestly, thanks for watching!
@@FranklyGaming Keep up with the good content, man. I appreciate what you’re doing
See a ton of people mentioning the far cry 3 mission will have to check it out, and thanks for watching !
No metro? SO many amazing missions
from Nazi trains to underground tower defense, and some amazing exploration parts, truly amazing
Metro would be a great addition for sure
Ooh I'm so glad to see Oblivion, Underrail and Pillars of Eternity, among other great games you mentioned. Great video!
Thank you for the support!
All ghillied up, no russian, and the train mission from San Andreas are the missions that always remained burned in my memory.
And the first level of Parappa the Rapper. "Kick, punch, its all in the mind!"
Shows Uncharted 3, doesn’t include the boat segment or Uncharted 2’s Train sequence.
Glad I put in the timestamps so you guys could dodge the spoilers, and ya loved all 3, thanks for watching!
I went into Prey completely blind and that moment when I broke the glass is one of the most incredible things I've seen in gaming...
Your thumbnail shows Uncharted but it’s not included in the video? Misleading?

@@Tykostruncharted 3???? Really???
I was so pleasantly surprised someone else appreciates Noveria as much as i do. One more thing i'd like to add to your amazing assessment is how the initial spaceport area makes you feel while replaying the game and knowing what is yet to happen. It's maybe the final peaceful, serene area you get to experience. The blizzard outside, the mysterious, but relaxing music... I'd spend hours just standing in the spaceport absorbing it all in. It's really one of the greatest video game levels ever created.
My favourite missions and feelings that I remember from games,
1. The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine: La Cage Au Fou
The atmosphere, voice acting, weather, music and sound effects takes you to another world. The moment you reach the location, it's an otherworldly experience. It makes you realize why The Witcher 3 is so loved.
2. Hogwarts Legacy: Intro
The moment you start the game and till you sorted into the house has been done incredibly well. The music, voice acting, locations and introduction to the story was beyond nostalgic. The overall game is 7.5-8/10 but the intro for me is 10/10.
3. Red Dead Redemption 2: The last two debt collection missions
It's the debt collecting mission from man named Arthur.
4. A Plague Tale: Innocence - The whole game
For a few years, I used to buy 8-10 rated AAA games only because I didn't want to spend too much money on games.
However, this game changed everything. I got the game for free. I felt so good after playing the game that I wanted to pay full price for it. The time period the game takes place in is just beautifully haunting.
5. Uncharted 3: Plane Mission
The best set-piece I had ever witnessed in a game in terms of cinematic and believability. It's a thing I can showcase to anyone I know and they will be impressed. I played that part 20+ times just to show to non-gamers and none were disappointed. All of them were glued to the TV.
6. Half-Life Alyx: The intro sequence
It just feels real. I was so amazed by the graphics, scale and interactivity that I forgot everything. This was something that all gamers dream about. Being in the game without consequences. 3 and half years later no game can match Half-Life Alyx's immersion. AAA VR game, we may not get for another 10 years.
7. Horizon Series
I always wanted people to be alive inside the mountain.
8. Red Faction: Guerilla
The red planet, I can never forget that. I played it at low settings on my PC. It ran badly but the shooting was really fun. The first open world game I ever played. Before that I used to play WWE, NBA 2K and many linear action adventure games.
9. Shadow of the Colossus: The first monster
VR isn't the first time scale surprised me so much. This was it. I had no idea what I bought for my PS2. I just got it. I stood there for 5 minutes, real time, just looking at size of the monster. The moment I killed it, I felt bad because of the music but it did make me feel as a 14 year old.
10. Age of Empires 2: The story narration at the beginning of every campaign mission
It made me interested in learning the history of the world and about our past. It was 2004 when my brothers used to play it. I used to watch. The first time we got a computer. Somehow, even now when I go to that game, it reminds me of those times while also being a good game.
There are too many to mention on a list but these are what I remember right now.
Age of empires 2 and plague tale are incredible great games
"Blood Feuds, Ancient and Modern" from RDR2 really makes me feel goosebumps, either by playing it or watching gameplay of it.
what a nice trip thru memory lane, thank you man
Thanks for watching!
i think the best quest ive ever played would be my last boy from rdr2, charging towards the oil field with your boys with that badass music playing is an experience i will never forget
I'm so happy you mentioned Hi-Fi Rush Track 11. As I've aged, I've enjoyed story games less and less. But, this penultimate level hit so perfectly. I ended up S ranking this Track on all difficulties
Ya that level is so good, honestly the entire last few in hi fi are peak
Contrary to you, with age I've been caring less and less for multiplayer and lore-less experiences.
I feel like the entire level of novosibrisk in metro exodus deserves to be in the video, but did not make it considering how small the franchise is.
An extremely well-curated selection. It was great reliving these moments through the video. Thank you.
Thank you for watching!
Thanks you for the support on my channel! And that control level is awesome
The Kafei and Anju quest in Zelda Majoras Mask will forever be my favorite
Some others tho:
The Cave of Dreams in Witcher 3 shows some great insight into characters minds including Geralt’s Fears.
Thank you all very much for the support!
@@FranklyGaming I've sent your links to my gaming group. Would love to see you and your staff's channel blow up! Your content is of premium quality.
Can't agree more on that death stranding mission. One of the most memorable moments in gaming for me, even though there is no crazy action or narrative, just atmosphere and beauty
I love that death stranding mission you mentioned. When Asylum starts playing in the background while overlooking port knot city is a mood 🔥.
Thank you so much! And still need to get around to TLOU series one day for sure I’ve been going beck to stuff I never got to so will eventually
TLOU is boring tbh
It's my favorite game of all time! lmao T_T@@shreyasr7469
The music and architecture of Port Hanshan on Noveria were brilliant. Such an amazing atmosphere.
Assassin's Creed is one of my favorite series ever, Assassin's Creed III is very underrated, and The Battle of Bunker Hill is one of the most lively assassination missions in the series.
Ya there is a lot of really great moments in the creed series, sadly I haven’t played much of them. Thanks for watching by the way!
Assassin’s Creed peaked with Ezio.
Some missions I wanna add that still stick with me to this day:
1. Uncharted 2 - the whole train mission/sequence (and I love how it all circled back to the game's intro)
2. GTA 4 - The Bank Heist
3. COD: WAW - Vendetta (but holy shit this game has so many banger chapters though, it's hard to pick one when Black Cats, Heart of the Reich, and Downfall are also in the same game)
4. Resistance 2 - Bryce Canyon (but the Chicago level is a close second with that last boss)
5. COD: MW2 - Cliffhanger (I just love snowy missions, and this is one of the few missions in MW2 I still play from time to time)
2 of the first 3 are made by Arkane
Really sad to see the state of their current games.
Deathloop was such a disappointment and somehow it got even worse.
They do put out some bangers DLCs tho, the 2 daud DLCs for the first dishonored game is probably my favourite game.
I really hope they can get back to making the bangers again too
man honestly i expected some rlly basic shit but seeing prey made me smile
Thanks for watching!
Haha prey always finds a way into every video 😂, thank you for all the support!
I almost added both but the video was getting so long I needed to cut down some, almost wish I had honestly
The Cyberpunk mission that got stuck in my head is the Sinnerman questline. It tackled moral and ethical issues specific to that universe, essentially that mission could only exist in cyberpunk and it was very well executed.
Oh I am going to watch the shit out of this video, especially after seeing Prey intro is in this.
Hope you enjoy!
Thank you very much for the support!
You get every aspect of the dystopian setting through that questline.
why put uc in thumbnail if not mentioned??
For me, the best cutscene ever is right after you fight off some dogtown dab guys as V while Songbird remote pilots a giant spider mech. She loses control of the mech which goes haywire on V, desperately crawling through walls and chaotically destroying everything in its path to get to you as V visibly panics, trying to get away. Honestly, some of the highest adrenaline I'd ever felt playing a videogame
Where Lenny bar mission?
You should definitely do a part 2 naming some great missions like Four leaf clover from GTA IV or traveling to Mexico in RDR1 and Money laundering from RDR2
ya I will work them into something for sure there is always so many things to pick from
Agreed Titanfall 2 is incredible and the time travel mission is mind blowingly good. Best time travel level ever.
I would personally add Soma as it has the same kind of twist that Prey has and the ending is just very heart-wrenching in my opinion.
Soma is fantastic I talk about it in some of my other videos like most philosophical questions in games, thanks for watching!
@@FranklyGaming Oh nice I'll go watch your vids ! 😃
Still play it in the mix every now and then
On the topic of Dying Light, my personal favorite moment after over 2k hours of playing is such a simple moment in The Following
Youre tasked with finding someone at an old hut of sorts. You get there and its locked. Find a way in, you see a hole in the floor and hear this ghastly wailing
You venture deeper because of COURSE youre going to. You stumble into a dark cave, the wailing still audible. As you get further in, you find it
A volatile is in the cave in one of those cluster spots. Against everything youve learned up to this point, it speaks
"Please!! It... burns...!" Its a person in the middle of transforming
You can leave, let it take its course and be safe yourself. Or, you can put the poor thing out of its misery, thus also stirring the hive
Its such a simple moment but next to the first night run you ever do, this was a moment i can never forget in this game
Honorable mentions, the dark brotherhood dead drop switch
Stealing an elder scroll for the thieves guild
The quest inside a painting
Most of the Daedric statue quests
And anything for Sheogorath
there's actually a section in the DLC for Callisto Protocol where you have to hack a terminal to acquire a powerful hammer. and as you begin hacking you can see enemies to pulling open the door which automatically forces the player to hack faster or he's toasted. that moment you really feel like a badass
an honorable mention be tho gotta go to "a shining light even in death" from mgs 5 the phantom pain
