Excellent quality video dude… although it’s a difficult topic to cover, I really hope to see more mysteries/creepy story deep dives in the future… 👏 Well done my friend!
The problem with Logan (and Mass Effect in general), is that after EA brought out Bioware after the first game...you can tell that the game originally was going in one direction that was then changed from 2 onwards. For example. The Asari Consort gives you an item that doesn't appear in your inventory so is easily forgotten. Go off the beaten path and you can come across a relic/construct that will activate and a bunch of text will appear talking about a past genetic memory of how primitive man met with aliens. This artifact then flies off never to be seen again. Now the code of ME1 records this as an event that it tries to transfer as a marker into the sequel; however no corresponding quests or markers are available so that quest/mystery dead ends. Same with some of the alien sculptures that predate the Protheans...Logan could of been an important part of the story that once EA took over got Bioware to rewrite and make the game a more linear 3rd person shooter. You'd likely have to ask a Bioware writer prior to EA's buyout if they have any of the original scripts to see if they knew where the story was originally going or whether they just had left it open for them to use in a later game.
@@FranklyGaming It does. But I do wonder a lot what direction ME would of gone of EA hadn't of brought them. Personally ME2 is my favourite, but stripping the game down to a Gears Of War style shooter over a more RPG heavy formula and changing the overall narrative (The Collectors coming out of nowhere and no mention of them in the original has always felt a bit off to me)...makes me wonder what could have been.
As the franchise went on, the gameplay got better and the lore got worse. You're wrong if you think they changed direction on the main plot though. The Reapers were always inspired by the Borg (as well as Lovecraftian horrors), so their reveal as being a horror show of synthetic and organic synthesis was unsurprising. To prove they didn't change course massively though, take a look at the planet Klencory in ME1. Some lunatic talks about visions of "beings of light" that will "save organics from machine devils." You may recognize this as the lie Shepard gets at the end of ME3. The ghostboy Shepard sees is made of light, and he's telling you nonsense about saving organics from evil AIs. They clearly had in mind how things would turn out in 3. It's way too specific not to be. And yeah, obviously it's a lie. Their claimed motivation doesn't explain their obvious malice and how they go out of their way to torment their victims both physically and psychologically. We also have records of "someone" destroying species that hadn't evolved sapience yet. We only get this "yo dawg, we're here to kill you to save you from being killed" crap from Starbrat when he's trying to convince Shepard to do something that will kill them. In fact, the only option that Starbrat says will kill Shepard, is the only one Shepard CAN survive. The original endings, as flawed as they were, were intended to make you wonder if you really fixed things or just screwed the pooch. Vigil told you right in ME1: "Your survival depends on stopping them, not in understanding them." As for the Inusannon, BW hadn't yet decided what Protheans would look like when they made ME1. The weird statues we see on Ilos were what they had penciled, but (obviously) they didn't go with and instead had Javik explain that they were the Inusannon, a race from the cycle before the Protheans. We do get to interact with Reaperized Inusannon though. The Adjutants in the Omega DLC. The codex talks about how they don't match any known race, but they look a great deal like the Inusannon statues on Ilos, especially with that weird "vomiting tentacles" thing they got going on. Tentacles in and of themselves aren't super unique, but the way they appear on those statues and on adjutants is. Javik probably would've told you straight up if you could take him to Omega. Anyway, yeah, there's a ton of interesting planetary description mysteries. I think Logan is pretty low on the list though.
@@Veladus The rough story was there to be sure. But so many mysteries surrounding planets and objects are left unanswered. I think the finer points were changed to make the game less lore dump and more every gamer can play and enjoy. I think the original endgame against The Reapers was more to do with survivors or previous cycles or some thing on one of the obscure planets in one of the "deserted systems." Maybe even something from humany's genesis. Like we were going to be weapons against The Reapers. Remember; even before release Mass Effect went through a ton of changes. The emphasis on biotic combat and how it came to be was stripped back, with the original premise being that bionics was some mystery "Force like power." The Rachni too seemed to be more of something that was originally going to be more of a focus rather than an endgame afterthought that needed to wrapped up.
@@AtmonTheExectioner Yeah, the rachni were definitely going to be a much bigger thing. I remember the devs saying way back when that the geth had a lot more interest from players than they expected. Basically the focus that the geth got came at the expense of the rachni. The geth were originally just going to be stereotypical evil AI mooks, but players were expecting more so they delivered. Even as far as the 3rd game, the rachni got the shaft. There was going to be an entirely different mission if you killed the queen in the first game. Rachni never would've come up again, it was going to be Harvesters (those big flying worm things) that were being Reaperized, in a different way, at a different location. Time restraints had them throw that "cloned queen" garbage in. Shame.
Theres no mystery to Shine, it was an experimental Myst clone produced by German film maker Terry Rudat, the heavy emphasis on fmv was a child of the times, the early to mid 90's produced games such as Wing Commander 3 that featured the likes of Mark Hammil, Rudat returned to film making, he is also an accomplished musician, the game be found online and played via launchbox using exo pack add ons
Re: Lavender Town Syndrome In the very first release of Pokemon Red and Green, Lavender Town’s theme did have very high pitched notes that gave some kids headaches. It’s that phenomenon where we steadily lose our ability to hear higher pitches as we age, so it was an error that a song so badly mixed made it into the final version. When Blue version was released in Japan, one of the updates was to Lavender Town’s music to remove those ear piercing notes. Since Blue was the version used for all international releases of the original, no one outside of Japan got that badly mixed version of the tune. I recall the RUclipsr, Tama Hero, actually broke out an old import of Green version to test it and it was possible to hear the difference between each song.
Ah yes, the audiophile quality of the game boy mono speaker was the perfect vessel for some mind control... fuck I can't even raz you seriously. C'mon, develop that smooth brain a little.

Knowing what we do about how messy the development of Destiny was, here's what I think that one is: It was a real video, for an I Love Bees style thing they had planned. Then all that shit with the entire story being ripped out and fully redone happened. However, the video was already out there, so later on, after they fixed the rest of Destiny after that launch, and got their shit together, they then reverse engineered some of the story to make the video kind of work still, if you squint. Both parties are lying when they say it was never a thing, they just don't want to have to publicly say all that.
I think it's also important to note that the poem is metaphorical and easily up for interpretation. If you're going in trying to figure out how it connects to something you're already familiar with, then it's nor difficult to make it fit yhe narrative you want.

My favourite game franchise for lore is Dragon Age, there's countless mysteries in Dragon Age, but i specifically love the mystery around Sandall, after i played the Tresspasser DLC for Inquisition i replayed the series and in DA2 Sandall at one point can start rambling what is seemingly nonsense but is actually a huge hint to the ending of Inquisition, and seemingly links him massively to 2 of the biggest mysteries in Dragon Age that are both aspects of 2 different Inquisition DLCs, Sandall being a god like being probably started as a joke but Bioware seamlessly made it a huge mystery and i really hope that He reappears in Veilguard
@@gregoriustechneticies7873 The Veilguard is very good, 90% of the hate is coming from people who have never played a Dragon Age game let alone Veilguard, look at the reviews of Steam, PS, and Xbox and you'll see most of the people playing are enjoying it, and before you bring up Metacritic User Reviews, you don't even need access to a game to review it on Metacritic let alone play it, and considering the game got hate for everything from a random optional scar to there being gay romance options even though Bioware has always given gay romance options, so anyone paying attention knew that even if literally everyone who played it thought it was perfect it would have a bad Metacritic user score
@@gregoriustechneticies7873 most hardcore Dragon Age fans really like The Veilguard, but even if someone doesn't like the dialogue, which is much better than random out of context clips would make people think, the Lore revelations in Veilguard make the entire franchise better
A quick thing to add on about the destiny thing. Its story was changed completely really late in development. The old story was gonna have Rasputin be a bigger character same with his sub minds like Charlemagne
This is true, and also gives way for the idea that these ideas were eventually retooled into Ana Bray's storyline and Season of the Seraph. Ana Bray was the light that made Rasputin realize he was more than a sword for others to wield, and it culminated in that season, which focused heavily on Rasputin (who is placed in an exomind that looks somewhat similar to the image in the video) and recovering his subminds through the Heist Battleground missions. It definitely resembles the ideas put in place with that strange video, it's not exact but it totally feels like they wanted to bring back some cut content and retcon it into a new story they wanted to tell. More than likely, with it being a confirmed coincidence with the video being made by someone very knowledgeable of Bungie's quirks in writing, could totally have subtly influenced the writers into making parts of this canon because they're interesting ideas.
wow, that message in the beginning was amazing, thanks a lot, i just recently discovered your channel and i am loving it. Resilience is all bro, thanks for not giving up, your videos are worth it
In the flash we see for like 0.1sec if you look closely you can see the Witness (the whole left part of the screen), the last boss of Destiny Light and Darkness aga. The "fake" video was released in 2011 (2 years before the game released ) and the Witness was shown for the first time in 2023. I'm not sure if it's fake.
I think Bungie created an actual AI that created this video, probably Rasputin made the video and Rasputin has been making the destiny games this whole time.
If Nintendo really was secretly a child killing cult, it would give the saying "my uncle works for nintendo", that primarily children lie about, some very dark implications.

How does this video only got 11k views? This is such a great video! Most of these mysteries I've never heard before, which is surprising. Especially that german game, SHINE. Would love to see someone make a video essay about it. Anyways, Keep up the great work! :)
The original story of Destiny had The Traveler as a parasite and trickster, fooling The Guardians into worshipping and fighting for it. The story got gutted.
The cyberpunk one I was like "oh I know this one already" to not realize that there's more too it. Like holy crap. I was just there during the whole theory's part of things, but the fact we get a whole relic malfunction I didn't even know is crazy.
As many others have said, great job covering actual mysteries rather than just regurgitating the same ones everybody else does. I find your presentation thorough, yet succinct. Happy to see you getting some attention. One dumb question: I notice in this and your video about Fallout vaults that you never use the plural "women," only "woman," regardless of context. As in, "many mysterious men and woman." Is there a particular reason, or just a quirk?
The PNG file format spec was originally released in 1996, 4 years after the release of Sonic 2, so a "bobnface.png" would not have been related to Sonic 2 development. There would be no reason to convert the files years after development was finished.
Love how in depth it was, but feel ya missed an opportunity with Polybius by not talking about Evil Otto in Berserk. There was mention of it, it seems and you went into Porygon during Lavender Town so just saying, but still love how much you put into it still
Dwemer are not elf dwarf hybrid. They are a type of elf sometimes referred to as dwarves. There are no other dwarves in elder scrolls canon. So basically dwarves are a breed of elf.
The problem with the ME1 Leviathan theory is they weren't conceptualised at that time, this is still taking place when the writers wanted to go with the dark energy plot
Great video man, keep up the good work. I know you don’t like survival games but have you ever been suggested Project Zomboid? It’s a survival game alright, I’ll tell you that much. I lived in J. Pen with you years ago and did a double take when I saw your face in my recommendations. Congrats on finding some success with this RUclips thing.
I had to go back and listen to the Cosmic Ray Speedrun bit, because the footage was far too creepypasta for what was going on lol. It reminded me of something... I'm English, but, growing up I had a Super Famicom (JP SNES). English and Japanese cartridges were the same shape, whereas the US carts were square shaped. Playing US carts was as easy as sticking a round shaped "extender" on, and sticking it in the console. Playing UK carts... I had to use a "converter", which was a dual-slot extender, Japanese game in the back-slot to spoof it into thinking it's Japanese, then PAL cart in the front you wanted to play. Anyways, point of my story... Me and my brother used to play Mario Kart with ALL of the above inserted. It used to make the game pure chaos. Absolutely no idea why, maybe, if I had to guess, a loss of data/corrupt data due to conversion over multiple adaptors? We'd have loads of fun as it made it pure RNG as Lakitu would for no reason come and "fish you up" thinking you were out-of-bounds and just take you on a mad ride around the course, flipping a coin on whether he'd put you miles ahead or miles behind.
A month late... Good video! Some of these I didn't know about! But the Triss one is pretty simple. It's very common in adaptions from books to other media to roll two characters into one. Like in the Relic movie, they roll the FBI agent's character and the detective into one character for the movie, with the detective in the movie having traits and plot points and dialogue that was the FBI agent's. Or in the 1990s Stand mini-series where a more minor female character was cut from the script, and her plot points and some of her personality and backstory were given to a major character instead. Or just swapping things up - the recent IT movie adaptions, for example, take most of one of the main character's plot points and gives them to another main character, vastly diminishing the other character's role. There are hundreds of other examples.
It's nice to see you get more views and subs. I've seen first hand what you put into these video's. So much time and effort. Love to see it get rewarded. Love you bro, Keep it up!
Whats extra weird about the Sims 2 entry is that it seems a lot of the Sims 2 versions have odd stuff happening The PSP is similar in the Strangetown vibe but in a completely different way That version still is my favorite personally
I love that you started with Destiny! Been a lifelong gamer but Destiny is by far what I've sunk the most hours into and know the most lore about. Been playing since D1 vanilla almost 10 years now!
massive thanks to this video for incidentally reminding me of Shadow of Mordor/War. literally less than a day left on the steam summer sale and both games + their DLC were on sale for 90% off 🙏
Also my G-Man theory is this: He is a CIA "Pale Man" stereotype from the 1950s except real in the Half-Life universe. As well, I think he is an alien, with a connection to the teleporting ship Borealis, I think it's his ship retrofitted, and his homeworld is Xen, but the Nihilanth took over with it's alien armies, trapping itself until Gordon kills it. That's why G-man is present for the Resonance Cascade, and I think he had a hand in the crystal destabilizing. Although, the testing was rushed too, so it could just be a coincidence that he's at Black Mesa. However, causing the Resonance Cascade and having the army storm the labs knocks out Black Mesa's clandestine research and gives control of the portal to Xen to the government, who I assume the G-man works for. Then it all just falls apart by HL2, where G-man begins to work partially in his own interests, partially for some sort of remnant government, but I think it's all to get to the Borealis and get off Earth.

hey, Frankly. Constructive criticism here. I really like the content and the commentary. it's decently paced and well written. No worries there. I'm not sure if it's even something in your control. but please look into it. right now, the add saturation is a little too heavy.
Bungie has tried their hands at pretty elaborate ARGs before. It wouldn't surprise me if that video was the teaser for an ARG marketing campaign that fell through.
I'm not being funny, but I'm halfway through this video, and you've basically solved them all. Also, 'Logan' is nothing to do with the Leviathan, the planet 'Jartar' is where the first ever Leviathan was discovered by Barians, but it 'disappeared' after supposedly being 'dead', and then the Barians tried to deny of it existence at all
24:46 this sounds like a developer having some fun at the expense of a public-facing IGN writer. devs do this all the time with streamers, and if i remember correctly these games required an internet connection to play. so they probably just coded in Bruz to be max level & max aggro across all play throughs on this dude’s account

Vigil told you right in ME1: "Your survival depends on stopping them, not in understanding them."
As for the Inusannon, BW hadn't yet decided what Protheans would look like when they made ME1.
The emphasis on biotic combat and how it came to be was stripped back, with the original premise being that bionics was some mystery "Force like power."
The Rachni too seemed to be more of something that was originally going to be more of a focus rather than an endgame afterthought that needed to wrapped up.
Re: Lavender Town Syndrome
In the very first release of Pokemon Red and Green, Lavender Town’s theme did have very high pitched notes that gave some kids headaches.
This is an awesome insight thanks, makes the mystery even more cool

Congrats on the success. It's good when good things happen to good people. Keep up the good work.

You poor soul...

@@FranklyGaming Loved both! Immersive sims are just... another level of greatness.

That might be like half of them 😂
In the flash we see for like 0.1sec if you look closely you can see the Witness (the whole left part of the screen), the last boss of Destiny Light and Darkness aga. The "fake" video was released in 2011 (2 years before the game released ) and the Witness was shown for the first time in 2023. I'm not sure if it's fake.
I think Bungie created an actual AI that created this video, probably Rasputin made the video and Rasputin has been making the destiny games this whole time.
How did you misspell mystery when it’s in the videos title SMH
If Nintendo really was secretly a child killing cult, it would give the saying "my uncle works for nintendo", that primarily children lie about, some very dark implications.

Dang this sounds awesome lol
Bungie is not stranger to ARGs. Halo 2 had it's own pre-release ARG with Ilovebees.
The lavender town music has always creaped me out. Evertime I'm there I run though it fast.

G man is future Gordon Freeman with time traveling powers lol
You didn't hear it from me
Lazy theory and just simply doesn't fit the cannon
Bro the Destiny mystery sounds like A.M. from “I have no mouth, and I must scream” on the lowest key lol
