- I finally got the RC10CC kit all wrapped up and since I could not decide what paint scheme, I wanted to do I ended up doing two of them. I will let you decide which one you like the most, but I clearly (LOL) have a favorite!
You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

Great paint ideas, Addam. I especially liked the "Two-Face" idea. First time I've ever seen that and I think you nailed it dude. Great job!
Thanks Fil! I was torn between the two. I really wanted to try the split look but was worried about failure or it looking too odd. It turned out really neat and it is not very often you get two different cars to display with one body on it! Clear one day and classic the next!

Thanks! I thought it was a cool Idea but was worried it might be a flop so I had to do the frosted one first in case it failed! Now the frosted one is just hanging out on the shelf behind it. It was fun t do both and I learned stuff from it so it worked out good!

Man I didn't really like the cc until I saw yours. Killer job on the half and half. I'm glad my wish came true on the gold pan. I have my 40th pre ordered. I hope you build yours. We don't live forever my friend!!!
Thank you very much! It does change the look of it a lot and the cut-away look fits is very well! I was surprised when the did another gold pan but I am glad I was able to get one pre-ordered as well. I may build mine but I doubt it will be right away. Building this scratched that itch of building one from a kit so there is no urgency in building the anniversary one. IU am sure I won't be able to leave it on the shelf forever!
Nothing worse than those 'Globs' mate..... I've had them occasionally as you get towards the end of the rattle can, drives me mad!!!

Yeah the the pearl is pretty particular on how aggressive you can move the can around, especially as it it gets less in the can! The frosted one is cool and I do like it but the split version cam out much cooler! The cut-away look works very well with it. Others have suggested to put the white parts and gold shocks on the painted side which would look really cool is more than I want to invest into it! If the parts were not so silly expensive then maybe but that would quickly become a very expensive shelf queen!! Take care mate!

Thanks Al! Both bodies turned out pretty cool. I do like the split version a lot both because it gives it the cool cut-away look and two cars in one. Flip it to one side and all clear and the rotate it to the other and classic look all in one car! In you driveway I might run it around once, in mine absolutely not! LOL! Definitely a shelf queen by design!
That split body design was perfect for that kit it’s the nicest version I’ve seen so far 6:10 can’t wait to get my anniversary kit hopefully we get them by the end of June
Thank you! I thought it would turn out looking cool but wanted the frosted one to fall back on just in case! It is neat to be able to display either side of it depending on which version I feel like admiring! I have my anniversary kit on order as well. Still on the fence if I will build it or not. I am sure it will be a decision made once it is in my hands!
I LOVE the half & half. What a unique idea, well done. Certainly a consideration to do with mine but I think I'd like two bodies too so I'd have an 'original' clear body as well. Decisions decisions...! Is the yellow PS19 Camel Yellow. Thanks for the video 🙂
Thank you! I really liked the way it turned out! I am happy with the frosted one as well but I prefer the split one. I am very glad they did make bodies and decals for them as it was next to impossible for me to decided which style to do if I were limited to only the one! The color is the PS19 and I backed it in white and then black, you probably don't have to but I wanted both the true color to show and there not be any issues with the body rubbing on the chassis.

Great idea with the split body! It looks cooler than I thought it would. I think the clear body fits the CC better and a lot of people will do that, but the split makes it more unique.

Thanks! It turned out looking really cool! I was pleasantly surprised on how well the cut-away look works with it. I do like the look of the frosted body as well but this one is more fun and it is like having two cars in one! I am not sure they will be releasing any parts but then again I doubted they were going to re-re the gold pan again and I was wrong there. It would be super cool for them to make a run of parts as the original ones are getting too pricey to afford if something goes wrong!

@@400Wedge I kind of thought it would be neat to get the B6 one and have it as well. Keith almost got me ordering one after his video! LOL! I don't have any connection to it or the racing side of things so thankfully no emotional draw to it!
@@AddamsPlayground I'm not a big fan of the modern cab forward buggies, the old style Optima Mid is much more my thing. But the B6.4CC is just very cool, and as an engineer I'm attracted to great looking and well engineered things 😂

That looks brilliant Addam. Love the Two Face version. I also think that frosted one looks great too pal. Never used the pearl clear before so might need to try that at some point.

All in all not an easy build. I like the half painted body.
It is a different one to build, far from a Tamiya kit! Plus with this one the plastics a re very grippy on the screws some lubrication is needed to get them threaded in easily. It turned out looking pretty cool with both bodies but the half and half one is definitely my favorite! I am glad you liked it too!

It would be crazy expensive but can you imagine putting the white parts on the painted side? That would be wicked cool. Even down to the 1 half of the gearbox and 2 gold shocks.
It would be cool. I think if planned better buying one CC and one of the new re-re kits and making two of them from the kits and selling one to make back at least half of your investment would work out. My silly mind would want to keep both though! It would be a really cool build but a pricey one for sure!

It turned out pretty cool and it allows me to display it in either look which is pretty cool too! I ordered the gold pan re-re as well and look forward to getting one but not sure if I am building it or not. More than likely I will at some point but it not a priority. I hope they do some others as well. I would love to get the RC10 Worlds car and the RC10T re-lreases from them!

Thanks Paul, I am glad you like it! I am hoping they start doing regular re-release stuff as well. The limited edition stuff is neat but so many folks don't have an old basher for running. I am hopeful they see the popularity of these and start to do others. I would love to see a worlds car, an RC10T and a graphite kit come out for the masses. I think any of those 3 would do wildly great for them and make a ton of folks happy!!

It is a neat way to do it and you can display it on one side for a while and rotate it and display it completely different later. I had not seen anyone else do it this way yet other than the cut-away looking car at seam so I figured it was worth a try and I am happy I did! I am glad you enjoyed it too!

When you said you jad done 2 shells I was expecting a clear one and a transparent yellow one. That half n half though, that is really cool and much better than a transparent shell.
I tested a transparent orange and it was going to be very difficult to get it to look right and not be splotchy, especially the wing. The clear orange was also an off color for it as it was just too orange. This ended up to be the ticket and I get two cars in one paint job!! I am glad you enjoyed it too!

I am still waiting to build mine. Box is still sealed. I am afraid I will screw it up and not be able to get replacement parts lol. Hopefully soon I will crack it open.
@@brendanmcg4358 it builds up fine, just use some shock oil to lube the screws. It all goes together much easier when the screws are not grabbing so much into the plastics.

Nailed that 50/50 , thou for added cool points would of been good if you could 50/50 the decals with the solid black original ones on the yellow , my cc has is yellow , but with mci solid black decals
In hind-site I think I have a some of the MCI decals left over that I could have done that... It is all good, it turned out looking pretty sweet and everything is from the CC kit so it is all original just a touch of the original showing through. I am glad you like it!
That looks great especially thae half half paint job a nice buggy for sure. I like using PS58 then a colour and back it with silver it gives it a nice metallic effect bit I dont see any pearl effect like we see on real cars.

@AddamsPlayground give it a go it looks great especially in the light for me backing the colour in silver seems to work well.
The split version body isn't half bad...but the frosted version is clearly different.

Im loving that split look shell 👌 it gave me an idea. Build a compleate half and half when the 40th kit arrives 🤔 wouldnt be cheap but would be cool 🤔
That would be super cool and a very unique one to do as that is a pricey one to pull off! I mean I guess you make two and keep the better of the two and sell the other to make some of you money back so not a huge gamble... With all the other kits coming I will let you work on that one, I am going to be broke by the end of the year it look anyways!! LOL!!!

@@lo2713 I understand, I need to slow down as well. I do plan on getting some of the new stuff but have to be a little more selective and pace myself. I already went overboard and got the gold pan re-re which was unplanned and more than I probably should have spent....

I am still holding out hope that a rich relative (or anyone for matter) I don't know wills me a bunch of money so I don't have to worry about all this budget stuff! LOL!

Love what you did with the body! Do you think you'll end up buying the new RC10 that is coming out? I wasn't interested in the clear but even the gold one is looking like it's going to be way too much $$$$ for us up here in Canada. Everything just costs us an arm and leg up here.

What's the difference between the CC version and the original one
I absolutely love the split one that looks like it was extremely hard to do I think we need more detail of how you did it
It looks so professional
The only real difference is the clear plastics and the silver aluminum instead of the gold anodized parts. The split body turned out really cool and it was not really any more difficult then a normal body to paint. Just a few minutes more to measure and tape off the centerline so it was straight down the middle. I just put a bunch of 3inch painters tape on the unpainted side and did the other side like any other paint job. I am glad you enjoyed the result!
Looks great being half & half. I was thinking of doing PS pearl clear but I think I’m just going to leave it completely unpainted with just decals. What yellow did you use?
Thanks Martin! It turned out pretty cool. I do like the frosted look of the other but the split version is my favorite. Leaving it completely clear will look good. There is difference in the frosted and the clear but not a tremendous amount. I used the PS-19 Camel yellow, backed with white and then backed with black. On the wing I used just the camel yellow, getting into the tight part of the wing sides makes it a little sketchy backing it with anything. Both look the same in the end. I just wanted the black interior for the split version and did not want to back it in black alone as I was worried about darkening the yellow on the body so white went on first.
Did you order the anniversary kit from associated, or amain? I want to order one myself, but I don't get paid till Friday, hope there's some left for latecomers.😬
I ordered mine directly from Associated as soon as I heard the first mention of them!! Amina is already showing out of stock so i think they sold their limit already. I have not been back to the Associated site to see if they still have any available. Good luck, I hope you are able to get one.

Thank you, I am very happy with the way it turned out! Yes the blue on is an Optima and the greenish one is the Turbo Optima. Both are really nice kits!

It turned out pretty cool, it really was not any harder than a normal paint job just getting the center line nice and straight was the trickiest part. I have a whole pile of bodies here that need painting, if I get caught up on them I will let you know LOL! I got the rotating stand on Amazon, here is my link to it amzn.to/3yrRhkh

Are you going to get the new gold pan re-release are you going to get the new release of the gold pan even though there's less than a thousand of them? Are you going to get the optima pro are you going to get the laser dirt cross are you going to get the re-release of the original 2011 Avante that's based after the first avante? How do you get to get the release of the original top Force? How you going to get the re-release of the fast attack vehicle? I wish I could afford all of them.
I did pre-order the re-re gold pan car. There are going to be more than 1000 made, I think they are making more like 10000 from 0001-9999 serial numbers. I am not sure of the Optima pro, I have the Turbo Optima already so not too concerned about getting that one. The Lazer SB I will probably try and get, depending on the price. The Avante I doubt I get, I think they are over priced and I am not too concerned about getting one. The Top Force is cheap I will probably get one. The FAV I plan on getting.
@@AddamsPlayground there are decent amount of differences between optima pro over the turbo.
@@bradkalman2353 I know, just not sure at the moment. So much coming out and not enough money to get it all so I am trying to figure out what is bought and what is not.
