Look, you guys don’t have half the story that I’ve got not to say that your issue is no greater or no less than mine but I feel your pain and I work For Hobbico, Great Plains, and Tower hobbies, which were all one unit one conglomerate, and I worked in R&B. I actually moved my family from Connecticut to Illinois. And I watched my family withering die as my wife and children began to lose their minds when they moved from an urbanized city like dwelling to the cornfield and soybean fields of Illinois if you’ve ever bought an RC radio control, fast, electric boat from Great Plains or Tower hobbies, that was their home brand, I probably had a hand in designing it, I know that Tower hobbies was still running in 400 and an RS 6000 on the back end and migrated all of their customer service and inbound outbound sales to the new Oracle database POS tracking service, and there is a lot that goes into revamping an entire company, including the software, including outsourcing all of their what used to be in house, phone operation and tech center. I gave him some slack when it came to the issue of losing my orders , but the orders weren’t really lost. They merely went around in a circle and we delivered right back to the warehouse you see they had lost addresses they had truncated addresses, and when the migration occurred, I think their database of all their old customers was corrupted and here something that you remember. When I work for Tower hobbies everyone in the call center was involved with or had some aspect of hobby life in their blood whether it was houses, whether it was model aircraft, whether it was helicopters, RC cars model railroads they made sure that the people that were on the phones were involved with the hobby or had a hobby that’s not like that anymore and it never will be. The part that got me mad was ordering once getting the order lost trying to get something for my son for Christmas. Having to order it again even even though I haven’t gotten the return and then having that second order lost as well , and then guess what it took them seven months to get my money back you better believe it, it’s a shame to see what happened to our companies but at the end of the day they’re just folks like you and I is the technology that has failed them. it didn’t send me any half ounce coin that says super saver and I didn’t get any stickers! The years that I worked, there were between 1998 and 2000..
It is a mess for sure. I don't see them getting anything straight any time soon! Seems like they are still screwing things up faster than they can fix them.

I’ve only gotten into this hobby here and there over the past ten years, only have bought a Traxxas nitro slayer 4x4 & 2wd rustler. But from what I’ve seen I know to stay away from tower hobbies. Thanks for the heads up mane I hope it gets worked out
I have ordered from Tower 3 times. All 3 times my order was screwed up. This spans from 2000-2010. I even lived in Illinois where Tower is located and ordered from A-main (in California)on the same day and received my order from A-main days earlier than the tower order. That confirmation was all I needed to never order from tower again, that and my call to CS was met with, and I quote…”well, what do you expect me to do about it?” That was that last contact I ever made to tower.
Tower hobbies was great in the 1990's and 2000's up to about 2008. They are a ruined company that I no longer use. With Amazon and eBay and direct order from traxxas, Armma and more tower is not even needed. It's a shame I've spent at least 20k on tower since being a kid and I'm now 48. It's only a matter of time time before tower closes
I agree, but when you say direct from Arrma you meant Horizon? I'm pretty sure no I'm certain Horizion owns Arrma as well as Spektrum who outfits Arrma with electronics. I wouldn't be surprised if the Hoons DBoots wheels and tires are a proline deal too. Because Proline falls under Horizon also, smh
I have been a Tower Hobbies customer for years. They were my favorite online hobby shop. Not anymore. I also did try to get an RC10cc from them it took for ever, but I did finally get one. However, I did also order one from Team Associated too. I did not get one. They did apologize but that is not very helpful. However, I did order a 40th edition RC10 and an RC10t from associated and got them! I am wondering if Team Associated is trying to make it up to me because I did not get the RC10 clear? Or did I just get lucky? Thoughts?
Exact same experience for me too. I bought my first rc car from tower hobbies in 1990, an rc10. but now that i have gotten back into the hobby, i have had nothing but issues with tower hobbies. Their customer service has been a complete joke while trying to get my order i placed in nov 2023. They tell me its still on backorder, even though it has been available on their website again for the past 3 weeks. I can't help but wonder if this is a pathetic ploy by tower hobbies to not honor the sale price that i bought it at back in nov. STAY AWAY FROM TOWER HOBBIES!!
Tower Hobbies was the go to place for ordering back in the late 80’s, early 90’s when I first started in the hobby. I’d place my order over the phone and it would always be at my door in 2 days. Their customer service was always exceptional. It sucks to hear that they have fallen this far. Getting back into the hobby I found myself ordering mainly from Amain as their parts selection is so much better. I did however back order the Tamiya TT-02 with pre-painted Porsche body and received it without an issue but will be selective on any future orders with them going forward.

They did that to me too... I bought a Tamiya C-11...waited 3 months , never came... they said they never charged my cart, but they did. I had to call numerous times over the next 2 months to get my money back.
Sorry they screwed you man, I been there. Thats gotta hurt to know the car you were supposed to get is bring in a grand to some of these scammers. I personally would hold onto it. That is a cool coin though. Hold onto it, one day it'll bring back the memory of Tower Hobbies. Feel like they don't have another couple years left. Hope your luck changes
I had been a member with Tower since the mid 80's and I learned long ago to never never never order anything from them that shows on back order. ( it will never ever ship ).Then they dropped Losi, after that I pretty much stopped ordering from them being I raced all Losi stuff...The last time I ordered from them has been nearly 10 years ago. It was nice getting the dollar discounts where you would try to get to the next dollar amount to save 20 or 50 or 100 bucks and you would search your emails trying to find the code, shoot back in the old days it was on the flyers that were mailed to you in order to get it. Just sucks to have this happen, I mean almost all the local hobby shops are all gone and now to have this sort of crap happen using online is crappy all the way around. Oh well, hope you find your RC10 I call the unicorn. have a good one
Brought my 1st nitro 4tec from them when I was 14-15 joined the club 1st my 4tec RTR came perfect except It was missing body and ez start equipment had to wait 2 weeks for them to ship missing equipment after battle proving I actually was a club member and paid full price that shit was traumatic converted the 4tec to pull start and modified a duratrax body from l.h.s... It's actually how I got into the hobby as well 😂

Never dealt with Tower or Horizon. Now I surely won't. I've had ok dealings with Amain and of course scamazon but yeah parts are terrible now. Thank the shift to prebuilt, ready to run traxxas basher junk. Nobody cares about kits anymore or building cars from a kit. I had a similar horror story trying to get oil shocks for my tamiya tt02. Nobody has parts, only full cars with radio and junk in one big box. Also paint. Since nobody builds kits, nobody is painting bodies either so ps paint is like gold. There's only one store in my entire city that even sells tamiya ps paint and online stores won't ship it anymore because it's considered a 'hazardous material'. Anyway, I feel your paint bud. Too bad you can't stop payment on your cards so they can't take you money at least. ps. The ultima brings me back. I still have my original from 1986 along with an original rc10 'cadillac'. The Ultima was ALWAYS broke on the plastic top plate over the steering linkage. Any front collision would snap the plastic and the aluminum front end would bend upwards. I used to keep like 3 plastic top plates in my toolbox. Broke in nearly every race lol. Doesn't look like they fixed that on the re re either. cheers.
Same here, I just went on a rant above. I've got 2 LHS 30 mins in opposite directions. One is old school and has Tamiya PS and TS no Tamiya vehicles but everything else. they sell from both horizon and traxxas. the other store is strictly Traxxas. I own a XRT and a Maxx neither of which are any longer proprietary to Traxxas electronics. Thats my main reason for hating Traxxas.... buy a RTR and your stuck buying lipos and chargers from them unless you've been in the game for some time and know what to do. It sucks having a brand-new truck with a void warranty but F-it. I'm a kit guy so the handful of RTRs I do own came apart on day one or on day 2. Also, the RTRs I own aren't offered as a kit and we all know kit versions are always better.
l dont buy from tower anymore they dont answer phones or take phone orders anymore and l was a customer of theirs for over 40 years, not anymore thank you tower for your piss poor customer service.l buy from other companys now

Tower is owned and operated by horizon hobby. Tower is no longer an employee owned company. Once horizon took over, it was only a matter of time, before Tower imploded. It’s purposeful business tactics. Horizons service lately sucks as well.
What's this Super Saver Club? Tower is a joke, Amain is on point for RTR (eh), kits, aftermarket shit by the boatload, I'd go bonkers on their site if I had 100k in a bank account. RC guys dream store/warehouse. I'm not sure but isn't there a location in SoCal that you can walk into? Tower was great in the 90s, their catalog was the best toilet material. Now their toilet offerings. Horizon is ok for EFlite, Aarma, TLR (which I was surprised), Proline, Trinity basically all high ends gone entry level. Traxxas was offered a spot with horizon and shut them down. Traxxas is worth more than Horizon for the simple fact anyone can spend some cash and be bashing an hour later. Horizon seems like the giant buying up any smaller companies. Hell, Team Losi even got sucked into Horizon. Anyone knows what's going on with RC companies other than money. I applaud companies like Associated Tamiya and Traxxas for not selling out. Sorry I've been noticing a lot happening with LHS and most sell just Traxxas or they sell under horizons umbrella. Why is this?
