- I just got a box in and as Keith @rcicons4915 would say it is full of Buyeeeee Bargains! LOL! I picked a couple of project cars, like I needed more on the to-do list, and a pile of other small stuff! I hope you all get a kick out of seeing it and I am sure there will be more stuff showing up in the future as well!
You guys are all awesome and I appreciate all the great comments and questions from everyone. Really enjoying talking to you all in the comments section.

Yeah the Sonic Fighter was the biggest win of the lot. I was very happy to see how good of shape it is in and that there is nothing cracked or broken. I think it will look great once it all painted up and looking like a proper fighter! The Rx buggy was a good deal too and I will get it out running before I tear it down and restore it. I am going to fully restore that one the best I can. It will be a while but they will both be back and better than before!

Been tempted, but have resisted the temptation of starting any more collections..... things only go one way from there! 😂
The highlight for me was that sonic fighter.... I was amazed that the front of the chassis wasn't broken!
Overall it looked in really good condition, and such a rare car to find.
Really looking forward to seeing the restoration on that one.
Just hope MCI does some good matching decals!

LOL! Yeah, I got the chance to live the Keith life for a bit! LOL! I can see why he gets stuff from there all the time! It can draw you in quickly! The shipping is kind of pricey but overall it is still a good bit cheaper than finding stuff on eBay. The little cars are cool and I was mainly in it for the little Tamiya ones but the rest are pretty neat. I have already sent some off to new homes. The RX buggy is cool and I will get that one out for a run before the restore since it is scratched up already, might as well do it before the whole thing gets rebuilt and scratch free! The Sonic Fighter was the prize of the lot for sure! I was super happy when there were not cracks or repairs visible in the front or the rear of the chassis which is very common to have. I think a good cleaning, the grey paint and some new decals and it will look perfect! Normally the MCI decals are spot on. Occasionally there may be a slight color difference but once they are all on the car you wouldn't notice. Glad you enjoyed it James, have a great week!

It was a really great haul for my first trial run on the site! The buggies were great finds and I look forward to getting them rebuilt and looking top notch. I am going to get the RX buggy out for a run before I restore it to not worry about scratching it. The Sonic Fighter may never get run as they are just so fragile and very hard to find replacements for them. The tires and wheels will come in handy at some point and the tiny car collection was pretty cool as well. Someone spent a lot of time putting all that together! The minis are really cool! The tractor trailers are super neat and very detailed for such tiny cars! I am trying to come up with a good way to get them all on display. Since matchbox is so big right now displays for them are quite pricy, I may laser cut something for them!

I could not hold out any longer, the curiosity got the best of me! That and you were getting way too many great deals for me to ignore it any longer! The Sonic Fighter made it all worth it! I would have had to send that much on one from eBay alone so the rest was freebies!

Yes!! It can be s slippery slope and there is a good bit of a learning curve to it. I just got another box in, this one was a bit smaller and I did not make out quite as well but overall it was still worth it. That video will be up tomorrow! Take care and thanks for checking in!

Yeah, the tiny car avalanche was a little unexpected but there was so much crammed in there! LOL! The buggies were the big win and the tiny cars were just for fun but it turned out to be a really cool instant collection of things!

Yes, the Sonic Fighter and the Stricker are both a take it or leave it design! I like the odd and quirky ones so they are right up my alley! It was in great shape so it made the lot more than worth it. Honestly in the shape it is in I would have ended up having to pay the same amount on eBay as I did on this whole lot to get one so in shopping math I got the rest for free! LOL!

Overall it turned out to be a great deal. The two big kits were great additions and overall were cheap compared to the eBay prices. All the little ones are cool too and I need to figure out a display for them now as well. I may have to laser cut some display boxes for them. I am glad you enjoyed the unboxing with me!

LOL!!! Yes Buyeee to the fun money LOL!! I am doing my best to show restraint and patience with using the app, I actually log out of it to keep me from going on a scrolling and watching things as that will get me in trouble for sure! For what I sent o this one I doubt I would have been able to get the same stuff on eBay for less for sure, so it was a deal. The Sonic Fighter is in great shape and will look fabulous once painted and re-stickered. I will be fully restoring the RX buggy but will get it running and out for a drive before hand to not scratch up the restored version! Take care Craig and have a great weekend!

It was a pretty good haul for my first trial run with Buyee. The little Tamiya ones are super cool and surprisingly detailed for how tiny they are! Lots of stuff to find places for, I think I need to laser cut some shadow boxes or something for a home for them!

I was super happy to get the Sonic Fighter, I half expected it to be cracked or broken but it is in great shape! The Fighter Buggy RX will clean up nice and both a great additions to the collection. The little stuff was a whim purchase and I need to figure out how to display all that stuff!! LOL!

LOL! I felt like royalty for a moment there! He can't hog all the good deals to himself so I finially broke down and tried it out. For a trial run it went well and I am very happy with the haul. I just need to figure out a way to display all those tiny cars now!

Love all those tiny Tamiya’s!!! Wow…so cool! Amazing how much stuff you were able to get for the price. I haven’t tried buyee yet…been leery to try it so far. Canadian pricing can be the cost of selling an arm or a leg lol - That sonic fighter is in great shape…not my forte but a great find. All in all a really great box of goodies!!
Thanks Freddy! It was a cool box to rummage through, after I controlled the avalanche! Lots of neat little stuff and the two kits will be great projects! I know the Sonic Fighter is not everyone's cup of tea for sure! LOL! I did pretty good on this trial run, the second time around I did not do as well, I did not do bad but spent a bit more than I bargained for. That box should be here this upcoming week some time. Once I get it unboxed I'll know how well I did.

It worked out very well for the trial run of the site. The small stuff was cool but the real win was the big kits. The Sonic Fighter is definitely a take it or leave it kind of buggy! I love the odd and quirky ones so this is right up my alley! I was so happy to see it was not cracked or broken, it is going to look super cool once it is stripped and painted with some new decals on there! It will look much more like a fighter jet in the grey paint. The RX buggy is going to get run before I rebuild it as I have some new parts going on that don't need to get scratched up! YES! The old Micro Machine cars from the 80s and 90s! Those were a cool surprise in there! The little Tamiya cars and trucks are the pull back cars which are neat! The Sonic Fighter is one of the take it or leave it kits, I like them odd and quirky ones so this is definitively ones of those kits!! LOL! It is in great condition and most of them are cracked and broken at the front end, it was a very bad design flaw from Tamiya so finding one in this shape for the price is an insane deal!

The little Tamiya kits are super cool and surprisingly well detailed for tiny little freebie toys on products. I am going to have to get creative to come up with a good way to display them, I may have to laser cut some shadow boxes for them to fit them properly. The big kits are great and should take very little to get them in tip top shape. I already ordered the decals and paints to get them done. I am going to go ahead and fully restore the RX buggy so I will be getting that out on the track beforehand to have some fun since I will be replacing scuffed and scratched parts.
What a nice haul, you went easy on that. In Japan, there's a lot of those collectable things you can spend money on. You got 2 nice kits (Sonic Fighter with the box 😮). I went down the buyee rabbit hole, especially for one car of my youth, it's like the Santa Claus shop and I had to calm down, otherwise you can spend 4 figures with a snap of a finger 😢 Can't wait to see the "work" on the Sonic Fighter 👍🤝
Yes, you can spend a fortune in there very fast! I am doing my best to show restraint and patience but neither of those I am good at! I am sure there will be more in the future! I was very happy with the Sonic Fighter and it should look fabulous (and weird) once it is painted and re stickered. I think i am going to go through the effort and completely restore the RX buggy too, I am going to run it first as it before doing that just to say I did!!

Vintage kits and tons of small stuff in there. I am very happy to have added the Sonic Fighter and the RX buggy to the collection and both should look great after some work on them. I have the decals on their way and the paints have been ordered too. I am going to full restore the RX buggy so I will get that out for a drive before I restore it to drive it at least once!

The Sonic fighter is actually a good looking thing in boxart and tyre lettering etc they can look real nice! Odd ball yes but like you l like the wired and wonderful!

I resisted for a long time now, I finally caved and tried it out. I did pretty well on the trial run, the Sonic Fighter and the RX buggy were really great scores! I think all painted up and redone both will look fantastic! I am going to run the RX buggy soon before the restore as I plan on really cleaning it up and getting the scratches in before that! The Sonic Fighter is definitely in the take it or leave category but I do like the odd ones so I like it!! Take care James!

Very much so, the Stricker was the Indy car version and the Sonic Fighter was the jet fighter version. Both are oddballs for sure but they are cool for the uniqueness of them and now the rarity as they will never re-release them due to the design flaws.
With the first little tamiya car little wind up thing in about 2007 I bought a tamiya fox that size that was r/c it came in a dome shaped container with the base doubling as the transmitter w/ spring shocks and every thing worked darn good too Addam!!!
That sounds super cool! All of these are just the little pull back racers but having a tiny Fox RC sounds super cool. I have seen some video of folks taking the little Tamiya slot car bodies and putting them on small buggy chassis from China which look awesome so I imagine a purpose built on would be really great! I never knew they had made tiny ones like that.

I completely understand, I stayed away from it for a long time. It can be a dangerous place as once you buy one thing you need to buy another one or five more things to make the shipping charges worth it so it can snowball very easily!! I have a few more things coming but I have logged out of the app for now to keep from finding more things to get! 😂

I am, the Sonic fighter in such great shape made it all worth it and the RX buggy is getting a full restore as well so I will get two great kits out of it. The little stuff was impulse buys and fun to have but I need to figure out a way to display all of them now! LOL!

Very nice! I loved the wee rally cars. There's something about an RX which I really like (I have one which I custom painted) I also have a soft spot for the Sonic fighter. So two good choices Addam!
Yes, those rally cars were really neat, they remind me of a larger scale Micro Machine cars from back in the 80s and 90s. They have the somewhat squished, comical look to them! The two big kits were great finds I think and I very happy to have gotten them. The conic fighter will look great once painted and re-stickered and the RX buggy it going to get a full restore on it now too but I will run it first since it is already a little scratched up!

I've never heard of Buyee but it looks like a pretty cool Japanese eBay type site. You got quite the haul from there. I saw Keith finished his track. I watched a bit of his video though it cracked me up that he said he "maden" the track lol
Yeah, it is kind of a conglomeration of various Japanese auction sites into one and once you win something the items are sent to a central warehouse where they hold your items for free for 30 days. Once at the warehouse you can consolidate your won items into one box to cut down on the shipping costs. Overall once you watch things there for a bit and do it all once it makes a lot more sense and it is pretty easy but it is a bit confusing and intimidating at first. Consolidating wins is the best way to ship things for sure. Keith's track is awesome and one of these days I will make the trip up there to drive it! My wife has family near there so once we can make the trip it will be fun for both of us!
Those little Tamiya collectible cards are really cool! I’ve been tempted to do a buyee haul a few times but everytime I try I get so confused lol
Yeah the little pull back racers are neat! Reminds me of the cool toys we use to get in cereal boxes when I was a kid! Buyee takes some time to figure out, I am still learning the ins and outs of it all myself.
He he, yeah, that's a lot of stuff... It was good you spent a bit of time explaining that auction system, I had no idea what was going on with that Buyee thing... I don't think it's something I will start using, though...

The big stuff is what I was going for but I got distracted by the little things! It was fun and it was the learning experience for future use of the Buyee app so it worked out well. I was very happy to see the Sonic Fighter in such great shape! That was a big win.

Thanks, I have enough of the little toys there to last a lifetime! I was hoping for a lot of doubles but the big lot I won looked to be a collection of someone's where they had collected the whole series of various things so that was cool, instant collection! Now to figure out a way to display them not in little cups! LOL!

Nice haul. Ive been window shopping on buyee but have never bought anything. I did find a bunch of stuff that is hard to find here in the US. I will try it out eventually.
I have been avoiding it but I have seen too many cool deals being grabbed up so I had to try it out. I am sure there will be more showing up in the future!! LOL!

Yeah, the tiny Tamiya kits are super cool. The others are pretty neat too, the comical rally cars are probably my next favorites from the lot. The Sonic Fighter really made my day as it is in great shaped with not a single crack showing and barely a mark on it. I am very happy with that one and after some paint and new decals it should really look top shelf! I am going to fully restore the RX buggy too so I will getting that one out for a drive beforehand to drive it without worries of damaging it.
You got the fighter buggy RX the original one.The one I used to have back in the early two thousands I wish they made that again because I would love to own it again.
They may re-re it at some point. At least you have the Memorial edition one

I avoided it for a long time as I knew I would get drawn in! There is a ton of stuff on there, I know you like some of the Japanese characters and stuff so there is tons and tons of that stuff one there as well!

I am glad you guys enjoyed it! I am not sure about super smooth, the avalanche of tiny cars really through me for a loop! LOL! I expected them to be bagged up or something but I cracked the lid and things just came tumbling out of it! The Sonic Fighter is a really neat one to have and it is in such great shape, I am really happy with that. The RX buggy was great too and I will be fully restoring that one so I will take it out for a run before hand since it is already scratched up some better to do it now rather than scratch up a perfect version of it!
FYI a Nissan/Datsun Fairlady is the same as a 300Z over here. I think the 350, 360Z is also called a Fairlady Z in Japan and Canada
Gotcha! I know the name Fairlady but could not pick one out of lineup! LOL! I am not well versed in the imports, I just like the looks of a lot of them! LOL!

I never heard of Buyee before. I'll have to check it out. Those little cars look interesting. I wonder if those would sell well at a swap meet? The tires and wheels were a good value. I like the old buggies. I never heard of the Fighter Buggy RX. I remember the Sonic Fighter. You would see them with the roll bars damaged or gone.
Buyee is a unique auction site and it takes some trial and error learning, I am still figuring it all out still myself. I am sure you could probably do well at a swap meet with the little cars, especially if you find find larger lots of them for a good price and then resell them individually. The RX buggy was the second release on the DT01 platform, it came out a few years after the Rookie Rabbit. I thought about converting this to the Rookie Rabbit but decided to leave it as it should and not "cheat" LOL! The Sonic Fighter is really neat and I was very happy it turne up in such good shape. It looked god in the pics but those can often not show cracks and stuff in the chassis and these were notoriously fragile in the front and rear of the chassis. It should look a lot better in the grey!

I have heard from other channels of people getting unsubscribed from them for no reason. For a trial run of the site it worked out well and I got some great stuff. The little cars I may have gone overboard with but they are neat and I just have to find a good way to display all of them! The two buggies made it all worth it and made it a deal. Believe it or not The fighter buggy. Handled as good or better than the super hornet. With those friction dampers.
I am sure it will be fine, they definitely need lube though, screechy and dry right now. I decided this will get a full restoration at some point so I will take it out for a drive the way it is so I don't have to worry about scratching the restored version once it is done. Not sure when it will be but I will get it out around the track.
@@AddamsPlayground on my grasshopper 2 in the friction dampers in the rear I put Marine grease in them enough of it does show more resistance inside it something to consider when you restore the fighter buggy.

The avalanche of tiny things mad me question my decision making skill though! LOL! It was great to get the big stuff but the little stuff seems a bit excessive but I will figure out a way to display it all. Might have to laser cut some shadow boxes for them.

As much as I like the fighter buggy Iraq's the original. I think the black ones better looking. Also I used Turtle Wax, wet and black tire shine for my tires.Just give it out there because you'd like to try it.
The black memorial edition is a great looking buggy for sure. For the tires I usually just clean them really well but for the drier ones I will try and add something to help rejuvenate them.
This time next month I'm in Japan for 2 weeks for work and will see if I can find aone of those mini Tamiya's. I'm picking up a BBX it's around 170CAD so going to do a Hitec 50th anniversary brushless sensors motor and some mods and it's works out just a bit more expensive the here in Malaysia so that's a bonus.

I would need to end up going to the US embassy to get help traveling home as I would spend all my money on kits and shipping them home and not have enough left to fly back home if I went! LOL!
@@AddamsPlayground the best thing is it's summer so don't need so many clothes and the wife is coming so have some extra space. I hope I don't get carried away but I have some good shops to visit as it's not my first trip. My job is traveling all over the world so usually bring something back, I recommend going to Japan one day it's a great place.
awesome vid, last time i ordered mci decals they were not great, flaws in the decals, colors light like running out of ink
I have had good luck with them so far. I think I got one set with a minor blemish in one of the numbers but I didn't need that number so it was all good. The only issue I have had from their decals is the yellow and orange ink can crack and flake if the decal is peeled back up trying to get them on perfect so I take extra care when putting those colors on. For the $15-20 per set usually it is a lot better than the $50-80 per set for some of them originals on evilbay! Any time you have issue with them reach out to Nathaniel at MCI and send them pics, they would probably send out replacements.

Think those wrc cars at 8:20 might be bodyshells which can be fitted onto the Takara Tomy Digi-Q or Q-Steer toy rc cars.
Also rescued a vintage Tamiya boomerang from the e-waste container while at work, first Tamiya i own technically if we don't count the TL01 clones.
It's been run into the ground for sure, though still has some decent tire thread.
Technically could use another chassis as all mounts for the front bumper are just gone, it was held onto the chassis with electrical tape so uh yeah need to work on that or figure out how to make a cross brace that goes around the chassis entirely.
Plastic bushings on all 4 corners are I'd say destroyed.
But i have some ball bearings from another rc I'm tearing down to act as parts for another project anyway laying around so i save some money there on it, motor & drive train sounds good on a quick test with a single cell lithium battery so it's just ball bearings in the hubs & a proper cleaning on the suspension, maybe swapping the front shock out as it's been broken at one point & has no oil i think now.
A HBX TL01 clone (Think it's just called HBX post 5, blue & silver nissan skyline bodyshell.)
Ofc a non licensed Nissan one at that which is a bit of a shame as it's the JGTC Bodyshell that would belong to kit number 58239.
Which should have a Penzoil livery or a Calsonic livery.
Which has some suspension & drivetrain issues, but i have a 2nd TL01B clone the HBX crosstiger or Bonzer which rolls perfectly smoothly in the drivetrain so im gonna move over the onroad suspension too this chassis after sanding it a bit in a few places so it stops binding with each other.

It is super cool you saved a boomerang from the recycle bin! Now that the re-release is here you should be able to pick up some parts and pieces to get it back in good order. Honestly the best thing is to strip it all down and get it all cleaned up and see what you need. Then you can make a plan of attack to get it all. Bearing are a great upgrade and shop around for bearing kits, there are some good inexpensive ones out there.
I have one of the TL01B clones, I have only run it once but it did well! I thought it was a Tamiya from the pics on eBay when I bought it! It looks just like the real TL01B I have so it is close enough for me! LOL!

Slapped some electronics & a battery that doesnt fit ontop of the chassis with zip ties & the battery strap i use on my stampede 2wd.
After changing to bearings on all 4 corners.
And it ran ok, servo wasn't doing too well turning too the right but motor ran pretty good if a bit hot on the Traxxas 8.4v pack at about what I'd expect a vintage buggy too run at.
Ca 27 - 30 km/h id estimate.
The front end still is binding up a bit & randomly locks the diff in the front end so it just drives the rest of the drive train spinning either front wheel.
So that does need a teardown, as for the rear though.
The rear end & diff is about as smooth as it can get really, it feels the same as my stampede which is quite a bit newer in design.
Got remaining ball bearings on order, and have inquired with a store in Sweden about getting a new bodyshell, wing, chassis (As 2 out of 3 mounts for the front bumper is gone & the front bumper is also broken on two out of three mounts and was put in place with electrical tape and i ran it without it for tonight.) Giving them all part numbers & what not...
As for the old bodyshell & wing, i tried to strip down the paint on the wing with gasoline & then stepped up too acetone with no oil in it.
And it's just not coming off fully, it has clouded up the lexan a bit on the rear wing unfortunately so I'm probably gonna go with just covering them in a few layers of plastidip with no decals other then the window ones until the new wing & bodyshell can be ordered and ill keep that set as a runner bodyshell & wing.
Some bargains there. You know how it's done now. You only need that odd ball kit or part that doesn't exist anywhere else and you got a bargain.
Yes, for a trial run I think I did pretty well. The deal on the Sonic Fighter made it all worth it and I would have had to spend that much on the one kit through eBay and the rip-off prices on there! I am sure more will follow, I am trying to be good though! As you can tell I am not great at doing that though....

Yes, it is a trap!!! Oh man can you spend a lot of money really fast there! A lot of the very sought after things go for big bucks still but there are still lots more deals to be had compared to the eBay sites. It is a trap, you will spend much more than you want to there! Overall it is a great sit but the need to bundle purchases to make it worth the shipping cost is kind of the trap. So buying one kit means you need to buy two and then 3 will probably fit in the box so lets look for one more... LOL financial ruin! LOL!!
The Sonic Fighter is definitely one of the love it or hate kits for sure! I enjoy the odd and quirky ones and this is definitely both of those!!

Tge qd trucks had tge square spline servos.
I di not know that. The servo is odd, it is center drive, not to one side like normal for cars and trucks. I feel like it is radio gear from an old plane or boat. I have not pulled it out of the package yet to investigate yet but it is an odd setup for sure.

I see you trimmed the beard mate. How may years did it take to get to the wizard length you had before the trim? 🤣 My current beard is about 2 years old, it's about 19cm-20cm long, mustache is an absolute beast.
Yeah, it was getting too long and the hot weather showing up made me go ahead and hack it back. Too hot out there for working and all that face fur! It took about two years roughly to go from nothing to the wizard beard. The first time I let it grow out it end up half way down my belly so it was full Gandalf! It got wrapped up in a dremel tool so since then I have kept it out of harms way!! It took about an hour to unwind and detangle it from the dremel! LOL!

It does have the yellow CVAs on it, they feel like all the oil leaked out over the years.

It is a Japanese auction site call Buyee. It is a neat but slightly confusing site to use as it is mostly in Japanese, but often can be translated to English, where you bid on items and if you win the items are sent to a central warehouse where they hold your items for free for 30 days. Once at the warehouse you can consolidate your won items into one box to cut down on the shipping costs. Overal once you watch things there for a bit and do it all once it makes a lot more sense and it is pretty easy. I will be having another show up at some point soon as I won another kit and will be finding some other stuff to go along with it. After that I am on a break from spending for a bit!

Yeah, I often wonder if that stuff ever sells. I am sure to the right person they may buy it but man they come up with some outrageous prices at times! I cannot justify spending that much on one kit when I can buy 4 others and have more fun that way! I don't have that much sentimental attachment to any of the kits to spend the crazy prices I see for some things!

It is different for sure. For this first trial run it worked out fine. I am happy with what I got for what I paid. Now I just have to keep my head about me and not go nuts! LOL! That is the hard part!!

It is usually one of the love it or hate it type of kits for many. I like the weird and odd ones so I really like it. It should look a lot better once i can get it painted and new decals on it. In the grey it should look more like the intended fighter jet look.
