A 10th grader in Texas asked me the other day if I ever heard of "a guy named Kingfish". My World History lesson on the Industrial Revolution turned into a rabbit hole discussion of the blues. Best day teaching in a long time.
Wish I had a teacher that dope lol
My dad was a grade 5 teacher, and had a similar situation when a kid asked him who the guy in a picture he had was(Rory Gallagher).
That’s Awesome 😁🥳🥳
Бля, как у вас все плохо, пиз. дец.

Жалко вас, придурков. 👨⚖️

His guitar is plugged directly into his heart.
Indeed
Exactly....
winky phillips I can Dig THAT✨
Yes!
Shit, that guitar is plugged into BB King, SRV and Hendrix all at the same time.

The best I ever heard.
100% agree
And his amp goes up to 100 and 11
He plays every note perfectly. Bb king would be proud. How kingfish isnt a household name is beyond me.
Everyone’s interested in hip hop and shit don’t get me wrong sometimes u gotta put on some lil baby or Travis Scott
But this is real music
But nobody’s interested in this anymore and it’s sad
His market is out there but sadly the american "music industry" would rather promote trash gangstas and hoes.
This man's market is the rest of the entire world and i sincerely hope he is brought to their attention
his tonality is crazy. i'm blown away. not because of his sound, but the amount of time he has invested is so short. proves the adage- some have it and some don't.
Murrkkka is shit now. There’s no more soul
Love BB, but he never played lucille like that!
Kingfish could be the catalyst for a whole revival of rock and blues artists and its super exciting to watch unfold!
Kingfish and Greta van fleet are amazing and are inspiring many young people
I really hope so
Christone is our messiah, we are lucky to witness what he is doing. He will go miles
Yep. The future of R&B is about to hit a new high with the likes of Kingfish and the young sensational Toby Lee.
I mean, he's good but I feel like it's bold to say he's a catalyst for something that's already been happening. Derek trucks and Susan Tedeschi are easily much better blues musicians, tempered in history, and playing with some of the best musicians. I'm not ragging on Kingfish, but he's got a long way to get the kind of credit you're giving him. I'm excited to see him thrive, and succeed though. Perhaps he will play with Derek one day, I bet it would be tight.
20 year old church boy, picked up the guitar at 14 years old. This is just six years in the game folks. Sometimes you don't pick an instrument...it picks you. Who's playing who? I think the guitar found a kid it could play.
Your thought is so right
You’re right. He didn’t learn this. He was born with it.
AGREE 100%
agree with you bro!
Right on
last summer he was playing before Robert Randolph at a festival ( I'm Robert's guitar tech) so Rob had me ask him to sit in. So i went to ask him and his mom was there, and he looked at his mom to ask her if they were staying and she said yes. He then looked over at me and said he'd love to sit in. The joy in his eyes and the pure love he has for playing music made me smile! Its people like him that's going to keep the electric guitar living on!
saw robert randolph once...amazing
and which one was his mom, BB King or Joe Satriani? :D
what a damn cool story, son and I are big Randolph & Family fans. Now if we could just get him together with Eric Gales that would be some more fireworks. Kingfish is a beast on guitar just like Eric and I really like his voice
206 dislikes are from individuals who cannot recognize and appreciate good music!!!! ✊🏾✊🏾✊🏾
Must I say tone deaf and soulless too
I don't even like the Blues, but I sat there mesmerized the whole damn time. This kid is the truth.
I agree who could dislike this.
406 guitarristas frustrados
That number grew to 502.
Do you ever watch this kid play and think “damn I really gotta practice more”
More like "why practice?"
No, actually I was reminded to turn up the volume and skip the Wendy's drive through.
@@chrismc.4437 WTF does wendy's have to do with this?
@@Rhythmicons fat joke I think.
@@seanpaulson9098 He sees that shit in the comment sections too.
He has really matured as a guitarist in the last year. He is concentrating on substance and style instead of just squeezing as many notes into a minute as possible . I think he’s brilliant. And his voice is just getting better and better. We are lucky to be able to watch and listen to him from the beginning. Many Thanks to 1AnitrasDance.
You're right about the brilliant.....and also the speed comment.
The slower he plays, the more I love it.
Those air gaps in a song make all the other notes tastier.
The fewer notes he plays per minute, the more soul it puts across.
For his age, his skill is untouchable.
@@fenderstratguy Dig that! Miles Davis proved that less was better when it comes to emotion! Maybe even a little bit late sometimes!
He's my new blues favorite guitarist!
he matured very fast very well in his playing. saw him at age of 15 when he did that typical fast shredding pattern thing often. his playing is now advanced, he effortlessly switching out of the blues scheme on solos and inbetween. and of course his voice will getting better too^^
This isn't talent its GOD GIFTED. #respect
I hear a BBKing Hendrix fusion with this kid, as well as mostly his own style, and I love it!
He’s going to be one of the best players in the world. What I can’t believe is that he’s only 20 years old!
Just wait till he gets "good" ;)
If he gets his weight under controll Because I dont want him to die at a young age because of his unhealthy weight. He is talented!
@@dohoeijmans2432 if he has the hart of Keith Richards he can also do a truck load of drugs and still get very old
No, he is already one of the best ever
"GOING TO BE"?
I submit to you he's already better than many of the world's legendary guitar superstars.
I've seen many of the top guitarists of all time and I personally think he's every bit as good as any when he's playing slow....and he sings better than any of them!
I do NOT care for his shredding, but when he slows it down, he's so bomb.
He improvises on the fly and every note is tasty.
the best part 00:00 thru 09:10
😂😂😂I thought the same
I've seen some amazing guitarists live over the years including Hendrix, BB King, Buddy Guy, Clapton and Knopfler to name but a few and got to say Christone truly has music running through his veins and soul and its totally visible with every note he plays and movements his fingers make, they're filled with a passion you cannot teach, you can see, hear and feel this young guy has a understanding that pours out of his body. Wow is all that you can say... Would love to see you at a live gig.
Don't leave out the Late Blues singer Albert King Greatest guitarist....He played a Gibson Flying V lead Guitar 🎸💯💯
He can play the guitar like ringing a bell.
THIS is talent. Brings a tear to my eye. When you consider he's still a teenager and playing guitar for only 5 years it's absolutely amazing.
@Commendatore He's 20 now.
WHAT???
There's no such thing as talent in this type of field its all about practicing and dedication
all praise to the most high
I feel like hes got more in his voice than he gives off.
lee enfield I agree. I think it may be the age though. Give him a few more years, or maybe some alcohol?
probably just needs more confidence, i'm just imagining him in like his 30's he'll prob be a hall of famer by then
he does, go watch his version of "I Put a Spell on You." Absolute soul.
He just may, but the way he make them strings talk, and sing is pure dynamite.
@@thebookwaswaybetter2827 Thought you said farmer🤔🤣🤣
One of the greatest guitar solos I've heard.
Absolutely The Best Solo, in my opinion.
The Man's choice of what to do with his guitar is enviable.
#hesaguirarbeast
Does anybody know where to get the lead guitar tab? I've been looking everywhere :(
Just check paidtabs.com, bought it a few weeks ago.
You can even try to learn by ear a little bit, it's very recommendable ;))
Its blues just improvise from heart💙
I would love to have a tab to the riff he plays at 6:20
Yeah actually bought it for that part
And that ladies and gentlemen is how to play a guitar. Well done sir.
Great version of BB's song. Can't help but admire kingfish's melodic transition ,technique from blues to jazz. Great guitar.........
198306Ms much like SRV.
Jazz? What jazz?
@Deirdre Morris There is absolutely nothing in there theoretically or harmonically that is anything other than static. It's all pentatonic, minor and blues. Not even arpeggiation. It's definitely not jazz by any interpretation. Not even close.
@@jbenoit1962 You're not listening closely enough. One more time!
J Benoit he uses a lot of jazz chords to strength the melody
Blues, jazz and rock perfectly and smoothly blended togehter. Chords sound so tasty...and solo's are just mindblowing.
He speaks like a young person but sings like vet. His voice is great. The fact he can play that well is outrageous.
Some folks are actually born to do what they do. Once they find it they can't be stopped.
I Luv his Phrasing!! He's not just Riffing! He's talking to you thru his Guitar!! Yung man w/ a Old soul!🔥🔥🎸🎸🙌🏾🤘🏾
I know if another kid like KingFish. Kid from Australia. He's about 12 years old and he is awesome. Taj Farrant
We are watching a “living” legend and hope to see him live!
THAT BUILD UP AT @5:20 IS SOOOOOOOO BEAUTIFULLY DONE! damn that gave me chills
2024 still one of the best guitar solos ever
Legend in the making
Soul is blasting from his fingers.
More like articulating sausages
I see your last name origins from former Yugoslavia? Listen to this, it is purest out of soul guitar playing from one of the famous Yugoslavian guitar player ruclips.net/video/LMu3NxCa4uw/видео.html
Very well said
Yes
This kid is gonna be a legend. This performance alone earns him a spot in the hall of fame in my humble opinion...
Hopefully he won't become a legend from having died too young.
The weight he is carrying most likely at this young age will do him in well before old age.
Old soul right here folks!!
This kid has got it! Fantastic!!!
Bring this music back
This guy gives me chills. One of the best i've seen in a very long time.
A true star in the making, maturing to be one of the Greats! 👏🏻🌟🎼🎸
First time hearing this kid play & let me tell you boy. You just can't teach blues. You have to feel it. This kid has it!! BB king is proud of you kid 💯👍 keep doing what you doing 👏
B.B. King is smiling down from Heaven on this young man. YES, my favorite musician of all time is reincarnated! YES, YES, YES so much YES! His soul speaks through his guitar. He is one with his guitar. I love it!
Someone get the guy a recording contract so I can buy his records.
Fun Fact: His brother is on the drums
Not as fun as you may suggest. But more of a mundane fact.
Really? I was wondering why such a bad drummer is playing with such a great guitar player. But that make sense now...
Thank you for the info😁
nice to have a comfort zone.
while the guy on the bass is his "brotha" hahaha
I want to see everyone who disliked this performance to go on stage and show us what they have. For a live performance like this there should only be "like" and "love". I admire the sincerity of this performance. Bravo!
Well said. Bravo indeed
Probably Lil Wayne and those other Lil mumble rappers
@@MexicanAmericanPhilippines yeah lil Wayne disliked this video
People who dislike videos like this dislike themselves and they've just gotta share it. No other reasonable explanation.

This kid is absolutely amazing 😉
Id love to be there in front row live .
Hopefully one day he’s in my state in Australia
I saw him standing in the background on stage with some blues legends. I didn’t pay any mind to who he was. The video was about someone else. I clicked on this because I recognized him from that other vid. Thought what the hell. I’ll give him a listen. Oh yeah! I like it! Someone get that guitar a cigarette.
Damn this kid though!! The Blues Gods have smiled on him.
He made THEM smile.
He pulls out every blues lick he knows in the one song .Great Blues rock n roll combo!!!
This guy is really really good you doing BB King proud my man!
"KINGFISH" The blues WHISPERER!
He played the quiet weeping blues, the deep crying blues and the rock screaming blues... all in one song.
I am flabbergasted! He is the real deal, look at all that emotion. Finally there is hope! Thanks Christone.
This guy is phenomenal! He is the music, superb feel. I would love to see him live someday.
Why in the Hell would anyone give this young man a Thumbs Down? This guy is keeping the blues Alive. This guy is truely Amazing. He uses a minimal amount of pedals. Go Get 'Em Kingfish.
Standing ovation. What an incredible ability to channel emotion into music. In my opinion, this young man stands shoulder to shoulder with the greatest of the great guitar legends - as he is today. I can't imagine where he could possibly go from here.
Not many can hold a candle to B.B. Ole' Kingfish dun did it. 🕯
Been more than a decade since someone came on the scene that could play with both the feel and the technical proficiency to make that kind of music.
There is no other young artist who can really present a show like this guy
Sing and play the guitar
billy strings, he is bluegrass but the same amount of soul in his performance
Felt like he was in my living room. The King would love this.
Every video of him on RUclips is amazing. That shit is crazy
Never ceases to amaze me no matter how many times I've watched this
I'm witnessing one of the Best future guitar players in the world
This is better every time I listen to it.
What a find. Great sound and soul. Thanks for sharing.
The solo is sooo smooooth...
Boy this guy is the real deal . HES UP THERE WITH THE REST OF THOSE GREAT ARTISTS . SUPER SONG love to listen to you . Keep it up
Witnessing an Enigma....we are usually only fortune or privileged to see one in a generation!!! Be blessed Brother!!!
Thanks for posting... he's all heart and just an amazing guitar player with a very unique style. I'm pushing 60 and seeing anyone under 30 making music that doesn't sound like a polyphonic ringtone just warms my heart. Chris is a true musician and a real gem :)
Good camera angle!!!!! Best solo improve. You can tell he has studied music riffs well. Hes the king of riffs.
BB is looking down from heaven with a big smile hearing this rendition
I absolutely enjoy this young man!! Why he’s not just blowing up all over the planet is just mind boggling. Such SOUL it’s just wreaks of blue soul and feel!! He has a GIFT yeah ? Player is young buddy rip that guitar to shreds!!
At 5:58 Kingfish casually incorporates a nursery-rhyme melody flawlessly into the solo... this guy is next level
Yeah, I've noticed he likes to throw in quotes in his playing. Old time Jazz players liked to do that.
what nursery rhyme is this?
Came here to see if anyone had noticed that!
Well I can no longer use the excuse, "but my fingers are too big."
Popa Chubby already did that !!! ;-)
pretty much...
Exactly lol it’s exactly what i was telling myself my entire life until i saw this man playing like 2 months ago and I bought my first guitar 10 days ago. This man is my inspiration.
Roni Mansour awesome! Just started learning myself. How’s it going?
thewildnath hey man, it’s going great actually It’s so much fun and challenging. It is hard, of course but it’s never boring if you really into music. Some advices i can give you from my short experience is to not try crazy stuff on the start and don’t compare yourself to others like someone is playing half year and he can play very clean and you’re playing half year and you can’t play clean as him it’s fine, everyone is goin by their way. About teaching yourself. Imo it’s the best and the best teachers in RUclips are : Marty Schwartz, mike gross. and andy guitar is nice but I don’t really like him..gl buddy and enjoy your journey with the guitar 🤟🏻
I stumbled upon some gold today. Just found out TODAY who this boy is, and I'm so happy. I'm so happy I got into the Blues :D
This kid is freaking amazing. That's God given. You can't learn how to play a guitar like that.
You're right. *I* can't learn to play guitar like that. Anyway, he did get the gift and he's sharing it with us, so it's all good.
It’s not just a “gift.” He has worked hard to learn to play this well. Musical talent helps, of course, but any music teacher (like me) will tell you that talent doesn’t get you far without dedication to your instrument.
It's both hard work and God-given talent hours and hours of practice I'm sure.
@@davebartholome2924 exactly. There's some serious sweat equity involved here.
As per my experience of international musical world the young guitarist is. A magical composer and arranger too
It is achieved by the god gift
Only practice can't make a human like this
Congrats kis
God bless you dear
Before it's over Kingfish will go down as the best to play a guitar
Ron that's a big prediction. He's good but let's not get carried away.
You have a point; a lot has to go right for that to happen.
Nicklaus once said Tiger could win 10 Masters Tournaments. Tiger's now 43 years old. He's won 5 Masters, but to win 10 would be asking a lot of his aging body.
Maybe on a planet that doesnt have Joe Bonamassa
@@jeffpullin4739 Not wanting to knock JB, but there's something about Kingfish people immediately gravitate to.
Kingfish just comes across so well. It's like having another superpower besides his wonderful guitar playing.
@@fenderstratguy because Bonamassa is a robo. When I see kingfsh bend into one makes me think he is gonna snap a guitar oneday
Just found this and this kid is incredible. There are those that work hard to be good, then there are others like this kid that is born with the talent and grows exponentially. B.B. King is looking down and is thinking "This kid is picking up where I left off." Just think of what it would have been like for these two to be together on the stage. We'll never know but Christone is rockin it.
He’s as good as any of the blues greats I’ve seen anywhere. He’s the master of his instrument at a young age.
i will have the pleasure of seeing him this week end at a blues festival here in Pittsburgh Pa blues festival
urbanwarrior2 how was it?
Where's he from? I'd like to see him in person.
KINGFISH is more like a CHANNEL CATFISH...the brotherman is chanelling all the Best Blues men...What a BADASS...Christon the CHANELL CATFISH💯💓😄👍🤗

Dude, you are tough on that axe. Thank God every day.
Thank you and God bless.
Wow this dude is straight up down from the heavens....
Finally a musician who isn't skin and bones, white and has a depth and style who's blues helps to express sadness into gladness. I guess the gospel has taught him well given his lovely spirit.
very very very talented young man..............I hope he takes care of his health so he can be around longer.
Best guitarist I’ve seen in years honestly. Kingfish is a legend, his playing has matured and he’s so incredibly congruent with his phrasing. Brilliant.

This is the state of the art if blues. He is in command.
theres a bit of the king in this young boy
matthew mcdermott why because he’s black?
@@xXSurvivalGamerzXx that's just racist bro XD
I think he meant the sound, not the colour of his skin, don't look for racism when it is not there, the 3 Kings (BB, Albert and Freddie) just happened to have been black skinned, so what! Where do you think blues came from, mainly black players, but not exclusively and defintely not now.
CodyTheDoggo Racism is implying that different races are deserved of different treatment or rights; what he said is not racist kn the slightest. People misuse the term racism all the time
