The Mozart of the Blues - how anyone his age (19 at the time this was filmed) can play and sing with such skill and soul is simply amazing. Some people just win the Genetic Lottery of Life, I suppose....
It's hard work. Even Hendrix worked hard. All of the greats have to put in tremendous amounts of work into their craft. He wouldn't be nearly this good with just his genetics.

Seriously havent seen this kind of soul since Stevie. I'm not comparing, I just see the same complete take over of emotion and soul when he plays....whereas hes almost helpless to it...it just pours out. I hope to see Kingfish live one day and feel the emotion in person.

Haven't listened to much of his work just yet but from what I have heard, yes you are correct!! His soul just bleeds out of the guitar with every heart felt note he plays!!! Much respect to Kingfish!!

C "Kingfish" Ingram is one of the most underrated Blues Guitar players ever and of course this generation! He is on a level of blues guitar playing that only the God's are on. Hope more folks check him out and come to the conclusion that he is phenomenal!
he is only 20... I wouldn't call him underrated... he is young. If he keeps doing this for 20 years and creates his own sound then yes. Dude has mad chops. I am a fan.

Every blues legend you can think of........this kid is all of em, and puts his own stamp on it!
How can you dislike this. I love his style gospel blues funk 50s rock and roll and british blues rolled into one. A black Lonnie Mac, a junior BB King , modern Chuck Berry, speed of Vaughn and accuracy, precision of Peter Green, phrasing of Hendrix. This dude is my hero I love your music your personality I am inspired. Thank you for this.
It's not just how he can shred like a speed demon, but also the beautiful tone he gets when he slows down and those subtle chords he throws in that remind me of Robin Trower. He's a once-in-a-generation talent!

Guessing I'm a diehard Stevie Ray Vaughan lifetime fan...never heard of this man till a few minutes ago after queuing up some blues music earlier! He's definitely in a league of some of the finest Bluesmen ever to grace our souls and ears! Christone is phenomenal!

It's not just the note choices, but the timing, the dynamics (loud and soft), the way he attacks or just touches the strings, the air spots, the way he navigates through a song, it's just all so near perfect, and he takes you from haunting to angry to gentle to energetic with ease.

He’s so good it’s ridiculous. Some day he’s going to fill up big arenas.
Blues guitarists with a large cover repertoire don't fill arenas. Joe Bonamassa is about the biggest name in this crowd, and managed the Royal Albert Hall. A historic and prestigious concert hall - 5,000 people a night, over 3 nights. Not even close to a stadium, but a tough gig to fill nonetheless. Modern blues guys are playing blues festivals to small crowds

That performance was even more impressive than the first time I heard him play Hey Joe. You can really see some maturing and progression in his playing now, wow it's so nice to enjoy!
My God I hope so, this throwaway noise that can be learned in an afternoon that's most popular today is vomit inducing! This kid's got me thinking of Johnny Winter, Hendrix, Stevie Ray etc.

Absolutely the real deal
I had the pleasure of hearing this fine young man @ the Winthrop Blues Festival in WA this summer....he took the time to talk with every person that came up to him after a 90 minute set in the 90+ degree heat. Then he came and played the jam for 3+ hours that evening...when he wasn't playing on stage he was sitting backstage with his axe playing along with the peeps jamming. That right there showed me what a grand person he is!

Hi, I'm a Canadian that absolutely loves this guys music. Just bloody incredible. I wish that I could see this guys guitar rig. This guy wrote the book on blues. What a voice. There's just something about these guys in States when they sing. It's the real deal. Thanks for the great music. Nice to see someone young carrying on these incredible blues tunes.
