The thing I love about Colin, he knows to keep distance and not interfere or annoy the driver and codrivers in any way when they have a problem. As a former motorsport mechanic, ie, rally, I can hugely appreciate that. Usually media is very annoying, but Colin is everything but annoying. LOVE IT!!
But last year the co driver did punch him

Incredible work by the team but at the end did it make sense to go full speed via water splash and then have those troubles and waste even more time?
Far be it for me to suggest ideas for Toyota. But I think there would be an advantage in having all the parts on the car labelled, possibly sectioned so that the driver can say part “rear intake 4” or section 2 radiator and the engineers know exactly what part they are talking about and where the damage is. Would aid communication I suspect.
If it weren't for the two guys from mechanic backgrounds, they might have retired.
Colin mcrae was also an awesome mechanic for thoes Road side repairs. Anyone who has done a belly flop will know how hard water can be and the damage it can do....

In the past,factory mechanics of respective teams were in charge of service. What has changed?
Don't think the engine sucked in water otherwise they'd remove all the plugs and tick engine over using ignition.
Multi million pound team and salary for the driver and they don’t have a $3 pair of safety glasses. Amazing 😳
Are they allowed to get help? Say they go by my house and i have a tool they need, can you give it to them?
I'm not sure, but I think they can only use tools they bring in the car. Maybe water for radiator is allowed, since in Mexico someone filled with beer of spectator😂

Its Not Incredible ? Replacing an Airfilter and sticking Putty in a Hole ,If He Had Slowed down For that Water He Would Not Have Totaled His Front End,
Having Watched WRC/Rallying For Over 45 Years I have Seen a Lot More Skilled Repairs Done to Cars at Road sides.Watching Evans Drive He is Always Overdriving the Car To Try and Keep up with the Other Top Drivers ,I Dont Think He Has it in him to Win the World Champ,Sebastian Oiger is the Best In my View.

Brings back happy memories when leaky radiators/ coolant loss forced me to carry bottles of water onboard. Looks like Toyota was watching
