I am not complaining. I got to get close and personal with Gus Greensmith's tailgate at the service park in New Zealand. Those carbon pieces are SOOO light it is hard to comprehend.
4:33 Take a moment to remember Craig Breen, who sadly passed earlier this year during testing in Croatia. These guys drive balls to the wall and it remains highly engaging for fans but with high risk/reward for the competitors. RIP Craig 1990-2023
How on the earth the Fourmaux’s Monte Carlo Rally crash wasn’t number 1? I mean that was one of the most craziest and dangerous crashes in WRC history. The Puma was pretty much completely destroyed
Yeah go watch the Tänak Monte Carlo crash, now that was one of the most dangerous crashes in WRC history. The most dangerous crashes were in the 80s back when Group B was a thing.
Yes, I think Tänak's was worse than Fourmaux's, as well as Latvala's in Portugal 2009 or Meeke in Portugal 2018, to name a few. The Puma looks more destroyed than those other cars simply because those are now silhouette cars made with a tubular chassis and panels on top that make the car look like the road-going one. They are full-blown prototypes made from zero for rallying. So, Fourmaux's Puma "just" lost its panels.
To be honest, M-Sport alone would take 10min to go through all their crashes. They crashed in every rally, sometimes 2 cars. I feel so bad for the management and mechanical team. Show them how it's done Ott!
Amazing to see how different pro crashes are to rookie crashes. With amateurs there's a LOT of panic braking into curves and losing control after catching shoulders. The pros seem to carry too much speed into corners and/or under rotate during the turn, but there's always confidence on entry. Also wonderful demonstrations on how effective safety cell design is, that all these drivers hop out amd walk away. Fascinating to watch!
I'm no Ford fan, but this is heartbreaking for M-Sport. I can only shudder at the wasted budget this season. However, this is rally and when you're trying to bring on new talent, big accidents are inevitable.
I think that Fourmaux's crash in Monte Carlo should have been number one. The violence of the crash and the destruction of his car are more than enough merits for this, so to speak, sad win.
I'm not usually one of those "why don't you have..." persons with these lists, but c'mon. Esapekkas roll was SPECTACULAR and he finished with a good position. And he drove without a windshield with ski glasses on. And he refilled his 1 million toyota yaris GR with finnish lake water. And he didn't make the top 10?!?! THIS IS RALLY!
The M-Sport insurance fraud scheme 2022. Seriously though hopefully they're bringing more cars over the finish line next season and some wins with Tänak. Hoping to see all 3 manufacturers consistently on the podium!
Everyone does underestimate the ypres rally its a way more dangerous rally then a lot of people think. I live in the near region and the ditches are sometimes invisible and unpredicatble. Also the the roads are crap, its very easy to lose grip. Thats probably why their will be not a 2024 edition i suppose
I saw Greensmith’s car being towed on a trailer back to the service park in New Zealand, and it was…not good…the tray of the ute was filled with bits of the car too 😬
DA PEOPLE-Hideki Naganuma song fits with this videos like a lot maybe can help if you try put some songs on the race parts on low tone like back ground music works for have subs and ppl attention.
Why say "What a shame"? Everytime a car rolls... The commentators seem to be immediately shifting their words to "ohhhh WHAT A SHAME... What a shame". It's actually a shame that these commentators keep repeating these words, and have repeated throughout the 2022 season! Come on commentators, use better words. Dull language... Use something better please.
Per fortuna io non comprendo quello che dicono!🤣 Gli errori dei piloti servono e fanno crescere ma se i commentatori non cambiano, continueranno a sbagliare.
Keep it fun , keep it entertaining ... life is for living , everyone knows the danger, and all need fun in there life's, sad as it may , danger is part of it... No one goes out to kill them self's, but accidents do happen... its part of everyone who is a live.... Enjoy ...
No, not with those timings. He let off the throttle the moment he realized he was going off. Staying on the throttle with that angle of attack will just kill the lateral grip and get the car to keep sliding off the road instead of slowing down. He needed to increase the angle (that's to say, have the front facing more towards the left-hand side at the inside and the rear towards the right-hand side at the outside) and then get on the throttle. But at that point it was late and probably better to just lift the throttle.
How do so many of these drivers not wear eye protection? Given the severity of these impacts, so much debris could enter the cockpit and cause serious permanent injuries.
M-Sport isn't the biggest team around. From Carlisle, they're based 25 miles or so west from me, and this is a fairly pokey and isolated part of the world. For the team's sake, hope 2023 is far less expensive
I've done that 2nd crash so many times in the sim. What's funny is, your reaction is to gun it for traction but in reality if you let off the gas altogether, your rotation stops and you just slide diagonally. You lose some time but it's better than being crashed out
Yeah, this would get you killed in real life. The car would get its rear knocked off course even more due to bad weight transfer. Counter-steering and flooring it is the only course of action here to maybe save the car.
@@quistador7 yeaaa.. still dont know what that means.. am i supposed to automatically know this abbreviation, especially if im already asking which sim? lol wanna give the first word at least?
@@jimsagubigula7337 you have no idea what you are talking about. Flooring it takes the weight transfer further into the rear tires and away from front outside tires. The front outside tires are what need the traction to slow down the car. Letting off the throttle rocks the car outwards putting weight into the rear and front tires slowing the car without spinning it. I hate how people can be so confident but also wrong. You probably haven't sat in a race car in your entire life just don't talk
I know it's chassis limitation but for me the wrc rules should allow more steering lock ,meaning the wheels should be able steer in more for counter steering .More driver would less afraid making big angle powerslides even that most driver try don't oversteer to much .
What a tough year this was for M-Sport and also very busy for their mechanics. They repaired a car in almost every country.
I am not complaining. I got to get close and personal with Gus Greensmith's tailgate at the service park in New Zealand. Those carbon pieces are SOOO light it is hard to comprehend.
Honestly you could have made this list with just m-sport drivers and it would have still been just as good
um... maybe bad drivers? when they get tanak driving there wont be so much i think
They have best CV’s of any mechanics. :D Repaired a totaled car in 15 countries in a year. :D

Big Credit for the M-Sport mechanics! They deserve a huge payrise, they have been working extremly well this year.
But most of the money goes to repairs
Im glad all the drivers this season are healthy and safe. Some of these crashes show how far safety has come and lessons to improve more
