Always worth remembering: An extensive rollover might look violent, but it's preferable to a crash that brings the car to a dead stop, because the rolling and bumping eats up energy that thus doesn't get transferred to the passengers.
@@jamesbarrett9489I was thinking it’s because there’s no video of it happening other than the onboard, all the other cashes in the video had exterior shots and fan cams
I can picture myself driving all sorts of race cars. Ovals, road courses, everything but rally. I don't have any desire to do this sport. Absolutely terrifying. These drivers deserve the utmost respect.
Atleast number 1 does really stand above the others 😱😅 incredible they survived 180kmh off nose dive into the ground. The roll of latvala was scary 2 it kept rolling
Colin McRae is one of the few WRC drivers to go down as a true legend, and the embodiment of "When in doubt, flat out." RIP and may he and ken block be racing each other on the great dirt track in the sky
Makinen's crash was extra dramatic because of that miraculous hop over a spectator. It was truly miraculous because it was rolling, then it went higher over his head just as if the guys guardian angel pulled the Subaru up from the heavens to avoid him. I think Tommi was very, very shaken afterwords.

Man these cars are freaking tanks!!! I mean, what a testament to all the new safety technologies that have been developed in the last 2 decades. For a driver to just walk out after falling down a cliff or even a mountain at 180 km/h... Absolutely incredible
I'm not sure who is more crazy.. The "co-driver" (navigator = passenger) or the fans they let right up by the track with barriers of their own choosing! Either way, thanks for the re-kitting videos!

@6:28 does he slam on the brakes? Is that what catches the front tire which causes the flip? Or am I dumb? I know he was going to fast but the spins are a sign of more imo
I went to the place of Tanak's crash, it's unbelievable to see it in real, the car end on the road just below after a slip on the moutain and a fall of about 20 meters from a cliff, the safety is insane
I have a few hundred hours of Finnish rally crashes in vhs. I haven't watched them since I was a but a child. Might get a device to watch them on my pc.

Racing and risking death every race weekend throughout the season, even though you're one of the top drivers in FIA, it's really hard work when you make a mistake and you end up dead or maimed.
There has been many enormous crashes - just to limit to 10 it’s not the tribute to the engineers and the development in the security and safety in the incredible sports! Colin’s crazy hinkelstone crash 2004 shows massiv deformation in the crashcage he survived more by luck than by strength of his cage
What other crashes can you think of?
Solberg Germany 2004
Ott's crash in Estonia this year certainly looked spectacular.
Tänak landing into a lake.
Ari Vatanen, Tour De Corse 1985

Mad respect to all the engineers and mechanics. You guys are the real heros saving lives both on and off the track !!!

Usually I do this in the first stage
