I like seeing these fitment videos because AK's vary so much. My PSA came with Mag Pul all poly mag. I got a few of the newer Mag Pul with the metal inserts. They insert maybe 1/3 then stop. Going to have to do some fitting. I have some of the old Norinco, Polytech and Maadi mags. They've been stored for years and I guess I need to see if they will fit. I know the Polytech M14 mags I have will run in the Springield M1A and Polytech M14S with no problems.
bulgarian polymer mags that look just like that tapco one did the same thing in my PSA AK. After a few tries to get each mag seated all the way they fit perfectly with no movement and go in/come out just fine.
@@The_Casual_Collector fortunately no reliability issues either, they all seem to feed just fine. may be a little different with the tapco ones though.
Make your own, there is a short on RUclips called fakelite tutorial. I found some FDE Tapco slabsides and made a few fakelites, which look good with darker stain swirls.
I tested some other mags on my Pioneer Arms sporter and the only ones that work well are the Polish plastic mags. I was able to pick up a dozen of them for around $10 a pop.
Great! I clicked on your channel to ask you about mags for my new Pioneer Hellpup, and here is your latest video! Please let us know the results after firing. I'm looking at a couple other Pioneer AK's...what does "sporter" and" RIA" mean??
Cool, glad it helped. Sporter doest necessarily have any special meaning in terms of AKs, my guess is they called it this so they could import it more easily. Now, in terms of RIA, I have no clue what that means, I've never seen that before.
The 20" rifles are gone at Atlantic anyway. I'm glad you got one and made this video.
@flyingfowltraining thanks, yeah they went fast, hopefully Pioneer will resurrect, I hated to see the US based company shut down.
Yeah it's too bad about PAC because they were just getting really better IMO.
@@jasonanderson2403 I agee.
The Mag Warehouse reinforced Bulgarien mags works awesome with pioneer, they are durable and cheap. I like my pioneer. The fit and finish is great.
@jasonhinds463 sweet, thanks for letting me know!

@mrweeby1961 very cool, yeah, my buddy's PSA was a bit finicky.

Cool, I figured that would be the case, but didn't want to fight with them on camera.

@39822 sweet, thanks for the info!
Gonna need that tapco fakelite mag.

I have a new Pioneer Hellpup. Where did you find your mags?
@@TARandFEATHERS I got most of my magazines from Atlantic Firearms, but Magshack had them as well, but they've been out of stock for a while now.

Bruh, you have to have some OG Russian mags, PSA has slabsides on clearance. At 70 bucks, it won't get any cheaper for 70 year old mags.
Dang, I wish I had known that! Sadly, they're sold out now.
