Thank you for this basics video! Before I ask my husband to teach me how to use our tractor, it will be helpful to have an idea beforehand what he's talking about. :)

I'm more confused now. When you refer to the names of the things. when you mention PTO, show the item that is the PTO. What is PTO? Explain. I don't even know what PTO stands for. Oh, and owner's manual's graphics (pictures) are too small in black and white.

PTO=Power Take Off. This is the way most tractors power implements such as mower decks (mid PTO) or rear mounted rotary cutters (rear PTO). This is a mechanical system separate from the hydraulics that run your loader and 3 point hitch.

If you don't know what a pto is than you have zero business operating a tractor

Right there with you Carolyn! Did you get up and running? Can you point me in the direction of any resources to go from, as Patrick bummer put it, having no business operating a tractor, to getting around ok doing the basics with it? Mine is sitting and I have a lot to get done around here

@patrickbaummer8598 maybe they are asking to learn. No reason to piss on someone just to piss

Obviously Carolyn is trying to learn @@patrickbaummer8598. No one is born knowing what a PTO is.

I've read some horror stories about modern diesel engines, particulate filters, regeneration cycles and proprietary computer systems.
The gov. and EPA took almost anvil dependable engines and made them a service nightmare with shortened service life to boot.
In East Tennessee 50 years ago, farmers left their tractors sitting out in the weather year round with just an old tin can over the exhaust. When needed just spin the external flywheel and they would fire right up. The gas burners even had 6 volt electrical system and they would turn over a time or two then start & settle into a low smooth idle. Never heard of gas going bad back then.

What’s the recommended rpm to engage/disengage the implements?
Does the glow plug light go out when it’s ready to start or are you holding the key on for a number of seconds?

I’m looking at a bx2200 and it has a pretty significant rattle/ shake at initial start up. Once engine is running it goes away after about 1 second. Is this normal for these engines to do that?
