    I was fortunate to see Messi play live against Arsenal at the Emirates. He was electrifying and terrifying. The ball was literally glued to his feet, and the Arsenal players were chasing his shadow the whole game. Unbelievable footballer, and far better than Ronaldo..

This can be verified just from looking at the performances of la liga teams (apart from Barca, real, and atletico) against premier league teams in European competitions. Spain were better. This is just a fact. Oh and btw, Messi scored more goals against the premier league top 6 than ronaldo, without even playing in the league.

      Real madrid, Barca and atletico are good. Sevilla have been decent but once you get past those teams the league is weak. That is why there were numerous ocassions where Barca would 5 up by half time.

    I've been very fortunate to watch Messi at the Camp Nou and his change of direction was the most outstanding thing for me. Subject to that was how explosive and balanced he was with it, as well as what Jack referred too in his "strength and control". Truly unique.

An audacious chip, from the magical Lionel Messi. THE most talented footballer, of his generation!!"). That goal, and his second goal against Bayern, where he twists Boateng into a bit a pretzel!😍

    91 goals and 113 g/a in a callender year, don't think we'll ever see a players' prime like this ever repeated at the peak of their powers. Messi's top 3 callender year performances with 113, 95 and 90g/a all have more g/a than Ronaldos best ever year in 2013 with 86 g/a.

      And that's just G/A. Arguably Messi's impact stretches way beyond the simple measure of goals and assists. How many secondary assists does he have, how many attacks has he built and created from his insane dribbling, vision and passing? Every time he played versus a team, they had to adjust their gameplan to defend him. They had to be ready to allocate 2-4 players every time he got near the ball. Just his presence created space for his teammates.

    As a Arsenal fan I can honestly say Jack Wilshire was class. Messi, Xavi, Iniesta and Sergio B was probably the best 4 when it came to skills, passing and dribbling in Modern day football.

    I saw a La Liga game at Camp Nou against Atletico. Saw prime Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and Falcao (who scored a great goal in a 1-4 defeat and had the best movement I've ever seen).
    Hearing the Barca fans chanting "Messi Messi Messi" was unreal.
    Alexis scored the goal of the game btw

      One more scenario - while taking the coroners, messi usually kicks them or stay out of the box to feed the teammates unlike Ronaldo always tries to find the best possible spot to head or kick the ball back in the net and I don't remember Ronaldo kicking the coroner balls..

    What people forget (In particular the EPL fans), is that Messi has a better goal scoring ratio than Ronaldo. Ronaldo has played around 150 games more than Messi, and he is like 40 goals behind.
    On top of that you have the crazy amount of assists.
    The man is not from this world. Unbelievable footballer, the best I have ever seen.
    I think deep down, Ronaldo and his fans will always force an agenda, but they know Messi is and always has been the better player 🤷‍♂️.

      I'm a Liverpool fan, and I just think they are both amazing. But I think Ronaldos journey from sporting to united at such a young age and scoring all the goals In all the top leagues just gives him the edge. But that's my opinion. Yours is Messi and I respect that aswel. I'm just glad I've got to watch both rip it up through out there careers 👍

      That's why Ronaldo from a skill level is nowhere near the level of Messi.
      Ronaldo is more the prototype footballer where he excels in everything he does but Messi.s level is on a different planet, universe and stratosphere.

      That is his technique, players pass the ball when confronted by defenders. Messi runs straight at you and 3 others, he creates chaos and defenders don't know what to do. That is why he is so devastating cuz he alone can destabilize an entire defence.

      @@Gino565 you dont get it. french league has now overtaken laliga due to uefa ratings but la liga is still more competitive. just as mourinho. if you are able to beat barcelona and athletico madrid. you win the league. ronaldo had like 450+ goals at madrid compared to 100+ in epl. epl was more competitve when messi started his career and in the spanish league from 2004 it was all barcelona till mourinho came in 2010. and with them being the prime teams madrid and barcelona ir made it easier for them to score more goals. Bayern could be the best team or worst in europe but will still manage to be far better than the rest in the league. that doesnt make the league competitve than others if the become the best in europe.

He took a while to actually start scoring goals consistently because early in his career he wasn’t world class. And 2. He was there for a shorter period of time. For majority of the 2010s, the average Spanish team would beat the average premiership team.

    Tbh I'm a gooner & I thought Xavi/Iniesta dominated the game as usual. Wilshere held his own which is amazing at 19 vs such opposition, but he far from dominated. No one ever dominated them (in their prime or anywhere near) & I don't think anybody could.

    If we play the team from the first leg i think we beat Barcelona at Camp Nou.
    We didn’t try to counter attack them enough.
    We missed Walcott’s pace & playing Cesc who was unfit was stupid by Wenger.

    We probably win the second leg with this line up, Bendther cost us in the end with that shocking miss so we still could’ve gone through, In the end Barca needed a cheap red card to win, we came back to 1-1 and immediately Arsenal get a red card, Uefa was on their side.
    Cheap victory from a dirty team, i’m so glad they’re suffering in the Europa.
