Even though I knew the Ancient Leshen was just their petty excuse to frame and overthrow the elders, still they have the potentials to be powerful leaders who show no cowardice towards any natural forces. Isn’t that also a crucial quality in Skellige?
Svanrige is the best ruler Cerys' outcome is more satisfactory (fuck Birna, fuck Lugos too) Hjalmar's quest, while I haven't played through it, does sound more fun.
Did you know that after Hjalmar and Cerys argue, you can go talk to Cerys ourside and tell her to go inside. And also fight with the Vildkaarls, the bear guys, the berserkers.
Cerys managed to trick a monster that literally no one else in the universe has, and in the process remove a curse from a jarl and on top of that gets to the bottom of who set the berserkers free. All Hjalmar accomplished is sail right into a giants lair and get most of his men killed. He surely would've died too if Geralt hadn't come and saved his ass. Cerys was clearly the better choice.
As a fan of the Vikings show, Skellige was my favorite location in this game. Mainly because it's more distinct from everywhere else and the people seem pretty cool. Also Cerys is waifu.
Skellige is just so warm and welcoming compared to everywhere else, genuinely some of my favorite characters. I’m off doing a bunch of side quests now that I’ve gotten through the main story.
@@thewhompingwampa2671 Maybe, but that's the kind of king Skellige wanted. The different clans had different rulers, who made sure their citizens were safe and provided for them. The king's role was symbolic, more or less; I think the king/queen was the ruler of all Skellige in times of war with an outside enemy. The previous king spent most of his time plundering villages outside of Skellige anyway.
More like a Warlord. Let's be honest, he would only raid nilfgaard and probably the rst of the north too. DOn't get me wrong Hjalmar is a good guy, but he is a worrior. He prefers to fight rather to think abaut the skeligge as a whole.
I'm glad I'm not the only one who chose Cerys. For one, I kind of got the vibe of her being the underdog, which made me feel bad for her, even more so when I saw how capable and intelligent she is compared to her impulsive, idiot brother. Honestly, after doing Hjalmar's quest, it became apparent that Hjalmar was brash, impulsive, hotheaded, and a terrible leader. I mean he basically led his men against a frost giant with no plan whatsoever on how to defeat it and in the process, got practically everyone following him killed. All so he could earn another title to make himself King. He's selfish, with no leadership skills or instincts or even concern for those who follow him. Cerys is smart, clever, and clearly concerned for the wellbeing of her people. I don't care if you can romance her or not. She is just objectively the superior candidate to rule Skellige.
I feel like she deserves it more because she's got wisdom, and apparently Hjalmar only really killed the giant so he could brag about it then sleep with multiple women, he can't do that from a throne, your back would hurt.
People please stop saying that you'd want to romance Cerys... Geralt met her when she was a child, and it's kinda the same as saying that you'd want to romance Ciri
Its not the same as saying you'd want to romance Ciri since the main reason for her being off-limits is she's Geralt's and Yeneffer's adopted daughter more or less. Any person today is considered sexually mature at age 18 and as long as the two adults consent I don't see the problem. I'm sure many of the random prostitutes and other lays Geralt encounters are much younger than he but you guys have no issue with him laying them.
Cerys was a kid when she met Geralt and sat on Geralt's lap. So yes, i think fucking Cerys is wrong for that reason. If i met a kid and played with her and let her sit on my lap etc. there is no way i'd fuck her, no matter how old.
Hey, did you know that you can fight the Vildkaars here before going to Crach (well, in a fist fight)? In one of the corners of the room Hjalmar is fist-fighting with one of them and after he lost you can challenge one of them. If you win, Hjalmar will give you his sword. Also you can challenge the Vildkaar over and over again (i stopped trying after the third fight, don't know how many are possible) but will not win anything more...
Luisin88 Except the emperor get assassinated has nothing to do with Hjalmar being king or not. It all depend if you decide to kill radovid or not in your walkthrough.
Best moment of my current life was when my friend freaked out that a bunch of rats got into my shed and then he yelled when my cat went to kill them, “YOU INSULT ME, AND NOW YOU THREATEN MY CHILDREN”
I'm not sure about everyone else, revealing Birna Bran as being the perpetrator during the assembly scene always bugs me everytime I play through it. It's not the fact that she was behind the massacre, but the fact that Sherlock Geralt and Cerys Watson weren't able to find enough clues to nail that bitch outright at the council. I feel the two of them could've done just a little bit more to get more evidence against her so that we could watch Birma squirm, rather than having her son cave and spill the beans on her. I wanted the satisfaction of crucifying the bitch with hard, cold evidence- letters written in her hand writing to compare them to the ones she gave the servant, or Geralt finding a servant that works for her- or something else. Yeah, I know, convicting a queen mother wasn't going to be easy, but I just wanted that win of triumphing over her instead of relying on her son's honour being the saving grace at the end.
I really need help and I dont know if anyone will answer but after geralt catches the servant and gets proof(the letters) and it goes to the next scene my game stays at the black loading page and it doesn't do anything, it doesn't show me the scene or nothing. I've turned off the game, the system and tried to update the game but it keeps doing the same thing, the game starts out normal but its just that moment that won't go on, please help :/
After watching house of dragon season 1 , reading a little bit about the dance of dragons civil war between the Taergaryans as well as the real life anarchy civil war that happened in england, i simply decided to help Cerys become queen of Skellige Isles. I mean since witcher 3 has those Got references as well as Tywin Lannister himself, i figured why not. Plus i liked the ending slide of Skellige Isles progressing under Cerys rule so i didn't wish to repeat the same mistakes of Got fiction and real life history again.
I love Skellige logic. In Hjalmar's path, all he had to do was clear the Svalblod hideout with Geralt's help and the Jarls are like "Cool, the An Craite's are free of punishment" But with Cerys, when it comes to careful analysis of what happened at the feast and being presented with good evidence of Birna's involvement, they're just like "Nah, not enough. Get fucked"
Amazing sidequest. I just completed it. I enjoyed more the time with Hjalmar and the boys slaying the giant but Cerys is far better suited to rule. I wanted Skellige to have a good ruler since Skellige people are the only ones who treat Geralt with respect. To hell with the Nilfgaardians and the northern kingdoms.
I think it's pretty cool to find out that there's a video game character with the same name as me but I was really weirded out by the pronunciation. No one has ever pronounced like that ever. It's actually pronounced cer-is not ser-is. The Welsh language doesn't really convert C's to S's the way English does.
@@xLetalis Sorry, I explain. Lindybeige is a youtuber who makes videos about history and weapons. He made a notorious video about the truth behind berserkers in which he shouted the word with crazy eyes and a high voice
I always chose to Cerys because her gwent card just so fucking strong and special even than Geralt and Ciri's cards. She alone is 15+ and summoners three woman guardians with total 30+... Jesus Christ.
Hjalmar was okay and I was sad when he died, but he was way too incompetent to rule Skellige. He lacked the patience and was quick to act on impulse. Ceyrus on the other hand, was an amazing queen. I feel as if the world of the Witcher was a real place, folk would be talking about her for centuries to come about how noble, level headed, patient, competent, merciful and peaceful she was. Long live Queen Cyres!
They should've made both siblings great potential rulers with different positive and negative qualities. I hated the fact that they've made her the wise one and the brother the idiot.
A warrior first, a ruler second. IMO, he's not an idiot, just not cut out to peacefully govern; some leaders are like that. I think he'd make an outstanding king in times of War, but outside of them he'd definitely flounder.
I know I am late to the party but I never did like Birina she reeked of being a traitor and had a right to hate the customs of her home of Skellige. But to go so far as to kill the claimants to the throne well that is a little overboard and if Bran were alive he would be ashamed of what his wife did and he wouldn't accept this I am sure.
Svanrige Bran did not deserve his punishment after all, he was honest and honorable to the end i would had given him a second chance HE IS A PRIDE TO SKELLIGE AND THE NAME BRAND
Does this mission affect some of your side quests or witcher contract?? Because someone that who died in that bear attack might have a requested side quest or Witcher contract for you.
Cerys on the throne is the best choice. Not because she’s a woman. But because she’s prudent and calculating. It takes more than just a strong arm and quick temper to rule a kingdom. Even the people of Skelligrad have to eventually change and adapt to the changing times, it’s inevitable. It’s that or face eventual extinction.
Svanrige's punishment was too harsh. I'd say he maintained his honor by speaking up against his own mother.
Yeah I thought his punishment was kinda dumb too, after all he willingly gave up the crown at that point as well.

Did you know that after Hjalmar and Cerys argue, you can go talk to Cerys ourside and tell her to go inside. And also fight with the Vildkaarls, the bear guys, the berserkers.
I do, I'll be making a video about it eventually!
Cerys was always my favourite
Cerys managed to trick a monster that literally no one else in the universe has, and in the process remove a curse from a jarl and on top of that gets to the bottom of who set the berserkers free. All Hjalmar accomplished is sail right into a giants lair and get most of his men killed. He surely would've died too if Geralt hadn't come and saved his ass. Cerys was clearly the better choice.
He doesn't actually die, you can skip his quest and he'll survive.
As a fan of the Vikings show, Skellige was my favorite location in this game. Mainly because it's more distinct from everywhere else and the people seem pretty cool. Also Cerys is waifu.
16:28 I think I know this guy from somewhere else
Skellige it´self is quite cool but the society there seemingly lives under a rock
i wish we could romance cerys
shes the best choice by far
I hear ya, I wanted to romance her too and from her banter during the quest. I believe she wanted this too. Sadly we can't :(
The Geralt from witcher 1 would probably try to bang her afterwards
She's the same age as Ciri. They grew up together.
@@lyntonfleming even better
@@outlawdudegaming2949 LMFAO
Skellige is just so warm and welcoming compared to everywhere else, genuinely some of my favorite characters. I’m off doing a bunch of side quests now that I’ve gotten through the main story.
Aw Cerys I loved your accent and your voice
her brother would make a terrible king
blackvial Yeah
I know I'm late but yeah, he'd be a "Kill everyone and party first then maybe consider thinking later" ruler.
His sister's pacification of the islands would make them more vulnerable to Nilfgaard invasion
CERYS BRINGS NO GLORY TO SKELLIGE
@@vinpop1237
GLORY DOES NOT MATTER TO A CORPSE.
@@vinpop1237 but she upgrades Skellige's economy-wich means better live for people Living in skellige. Also better economy=better military
I'd give Cerys a hearty pat on the back, the kind Crach would give that sends you face first onto the ground.
Does anyone know the song that plays at 9:34 into the video?
I feel like she deserves it more because she's got wisdom, and apparently Hjalmar only really killed the giant so he could brag about it then sleep with multiple women, he can't do that from a throne, your back would hurt.
People please stop saying that you'd want to romance Cerys... Geralt met her when she was a child, and it's kinda the same as saying that you'd want to romance Ciri
***** I know that, people still marry kids these days. Just because it was normal then, doesn't meant it's not kinda sick now.
Game-Caliber I would
Geralt already in atleast in his 9th decade according to vesemir.
this game stage has me flashbacking to 13TH WARRIOR.
in 20:41 minutes of video has the power point ... but did the brother of her quest and had no access to this site .. I have to go on that site?
I don't remember ;[
Hey, did you know that you can fight the Vildkaars here before going to Crach (well, in a fist fight)? In one of the corners of the room Hjalmar is fist-fighting with one of them and after he lost you can challenge one of them. If you win, Hjalmar will give you his sword. Also you can challenge the Vildkaar over and over again (i stopped trying after the third fight, don't know how many are possible) but will not win anything more...
Why didn’t the Bears turn back into men at the feast after Geralt killed them? I’ve always wondered!
not sure :(
berserkers turn back into vildkaarls when they fulfill their quota of kills. otherwise they die in bear form, according to the lore.
Ok but is no one going to mention the "show some of your own" line? No one?
:D
When they let me in I felt so honored, it felt like a Viking adoption ceremony
SMOKE THE CRACH
Everything other than Cerys on throne is pure heresy. I can't imagine any other man or woman on the throne.
Hjalmar, he pushes the Nilfgaardians back and the emperor gets assassinated, better ending.
Luisin88 Except the emperor get assassinated has nothing to do with Hjalmar being king or not. It all depend if you decide to kill radovid or not in your walkthrough.
Whats the name of the soundtrack at the coronation of Cerys?
Ehm ... is the first one attacked by the bear Draig Bon Dhu, Skellige's most famous bard ?
Yes, and now he lives on in Gwent
It was cool seeing the giant that-I-murdered's head
Best moment of my current life was when my friend freaked out that a bunch of rats got into my shed and then he yelled when my cat went to kill them, “YOU INSULT ME, AND NOW YOU THREATEN MY CHILDREN”
Cerys should have ended up marrying and thereby pardoning Svanrige. Talk about a power couple, considering his ending if he gets the crown.
Maybe that could even happen because they represent the two sides of the same coin. They might keep each other balanced.
Hjalmar voice actor is sooooo good
is it me or are the skelligans like the iron born from got
Love how the king said What did you say?! To berna when talking shit to geralt

In Hjalmar's path, all he had to do was clear the Svalblod hideout with Geralt's help and the Jarls are like "Cool, the An Craite's are free of punishment"
But with Cerys, when it comes to careful analysis of what happened at the feast and being presented with good evidence of Birna's involvement, they're just like "Nah, not enough.
Svanrige deserved better. He would have made a good vassal, loyal and honorable.
Am I the only one who read the title as Lindybeige?
?
@@xLetalis Sorry, I explain. Lindybeige is a youtuber who makes videos about history and weapons. He made a notorious video about the truth behind berserkers in which he shouted the word with crazy eyes and a high voice
I think you mean... BEAR zerkers!
I always chose to Cerys because her gwent card just so fucking strong and special even than Geralt and Ciri's cards.
She alone is 15+ and summoners three woman guardians with total 30+... Jesus Christ.
What armour set is equipped for Geralt?
enhanced or superior Feline
Hjalmar was okay and I was sad when he died, but he was way too incompetent to rule Skellige. He lacked the patience and was quick to act on impulse. Ceyrus on the other hand, was an amazing queen. I feel as if the world of the Witcher was a real place, folk would be talking about her for centuries to come about how noble, level headed, patient, competent, merciful and peaceful she was. Long live Queen Cyres!
They should've made both siblings great potential rulers with different positive and negative qualities. I hated the fact that they've made her the wise one and the brother the idiot.
Some say Skellige changes for the worse when she's queen
@@xLetalis In what aspects does it change for the worse?
They lose their potential fighting force. The land prospers but they’re “fangs” get dull as a result.
Is it just me, or does Cerys look like Anna Paquin?
Madcat221 may be :) More badass though ;p
Certainly. Cerys is certainly no meek little thing like Anna often portrays.
Svanrige is a good honorable man, hope theres a story in the future of him regaining his nobility and brna is the most annyoing bitch in the game
Game wont load past this quest. Tried both options. Anyone else?
never had that issue ;[
Svanrige Bran did not deserve his punishment after all, he was honest and honorable to the end i would had given him a second chance HE IS A PRIDE TO SKELLIGE AND THE NAME BRAND
could have used the oversized basilisks in this one.
Does this mission affect some of your side quests or witcher contract?? Because someone that who died in that bear attack might have a requested side quest or Witcher contract for you.
Can I go to kaer morhen without losing the chance to make her queen?
If you start the battle of Kaer Morhen before making her or her brother the ruler of Skellige - Svanrige will become king
