I would say the same, bud! Rainier Fog will just be as good as the last two albums. I mean, Soundgarden came out the same time AIC did, they also make good music too.
soundgarden came out in 1984,AIC was in 1987 not exactly the same time but both bands are fucking great & in my opinion the best of all the grunge movement bands
Yeah I killed myself laughing when "Terry" asked what key the "original" was in and when he said it was in g and he just literally started playing a g note over and over. LOL!!! I wish they'd make that a whole series really.
What do you mean "underrated"?? Drives me nuts every time someone says this line about a very well known, long established, duly/thoroughly credited guitarist, singer, drummer, etc... In *no way* is he "underrated" I mean, do people just say this..., just to say it? Just stop.
Great guitarist no doubt but I think he’s more underrated/under appreciated as a songwriter in general, one of the best songwriters ever in rock/metal and just overall in music. The mastermind behind AiC and also has a great voice and has written so many incredible lyrics
@@puppetmaster8551 exactly. He is. The other guy doesn't get it because when people talk about the best songwriters or guitarists no one ever mentions jerry and he absolutely deserves to be in that conversation. And I think layne is tied with dio as the greatest rock singer of all time.
A genius guitarist, he seems so down to earth like anyone out there. The Grunge scene just delivered us such great musicians and singers, with all their melancholic ardor that spoke out through their music...unfortunately some just left us too soon, some few time ago... sad but hopefully Jerry, Eddie Vedder, Dave Grohl and all the other musicians of those fantastic bands will stay with us for more years to come! 🤘🤘🤘
Before you all think I've got a lot of free time or I'm a kind of a SOCIAL PARASITE. I'm supposed to be sleeping to get up early but I can't. So I grabbed my phone & watched this Interview. It only took 20 minutes of my Life. I hope you had a good Laugh with it tho
I love the new record so much! Title song "Rainier Fog" is so amazing, you can hear Jerry out of it a lot, which I love. Thank you guys for your hard work and this awesome piece of art! We appreciate it!!
Jerry is just the sweetest man in the world, such a good poet ... and I still have a crush on him! 🎉. How does he stay so humble with those looks and talent? Yet, that's what's so attractive about him, he stays humble and real.
@@yargnad thats not true. Alice in chains, soundgarden and nirvana were bands before MLB. Andy was in malfunkshun and jeff and stone were in green river.
I have a friend that speaks just like Mr. Cantrell, slow. Dwight will keep speaking no matter what, until his thought is put out, he wont stop. He doesnt follow the same rules the rest of us follow when it comes to conversation. Pause to wait and see if the other is done for example. Im sure its really hard having Jerry on, A very awesome guy, always upbeat, positive, and just a ultra nice guy, but wont stop talking until his thought is out.............and that incredible laugh............
They are alternative metal. They even experimented with elements of blues, country, rock and roll and even jazz. Still their foundation remains heavy metal.
The interesting thing about this CD is that at the same time they sound like the classic Alice in Chains (Tripod) also sound in some moments like the modern sound of Jerry Cantrell Solo (Degradation Trip): I'm still thinking which is better if it's the RF or the BGWTB. Few bands of the age of Alice In chains can re-invent but at the same time remain relevant, Stone Temple pilots did it with Chester and Jeff, I hope they stay on that way for so many years, AIC is my band of heart. 🤘😎🤘
People forget how freaking amazing the Facelift and Dirt albums were. I mean if Staley didn't have to battle addiction. You throw in that Facelift album and it slams you with a ridiculous we die young riff and it lands right into Man in the box. I can't think of many bands that had an opening 1-2 punch like that
Im a Broncos fan/Denver native as well so sorry Jerry We beat Seattle yesterday!!! Lol love the New record though, You can hear Chris Degarmos guitar tone in Drone(Get him in the band for a few gigs in Seattle!!!) Never Fade is a beautiful song, makes me think of Layne, Mike, Chris, Andy Wood, Chester, Prince,Delores, George, All the great musicians we've lost over the past 25 years.. Its definitely tragic but their music lives on "Never Fade......
Layne staley is tied with ronnie James dio as the best rock singer of all time in my opinion. Also Jerry is one of the best songwriters/guitarist there is as well. AIC is one of the best bands there ever was and its just too bad the way layne and Mike went out.
Great interview. But I HAVE to say one thing. I have NO issue with people being passionate about sports. I think it is interesting to see someone have so much knowledge. But I just wish the country put that much effort into actually looking into politics and knowing the truth, lies, and everything in between so they can make an educated decision instead of playing for a team.
You dont want people to put effort into actually looking into politics and knowing the truth, lies, and everything in between ? Thats really fucking odd. Really odd
I often take a moment to give thanks for the fact that Jerry Cantrell is still around.
Of the big four Seattle bands alice was my favorite
I would say the same, bud! Rainier Fog will just be as good as the last two albums. I mean, Soundgarden came out the same time AIC did, they also make good music too.

Both Alice in Chains &

the best rock bands EVER.

Word! Those two Bands will always have a special place in my heart.
Allen Saunders AIC HAS ALWAYS RULED
Imagine being that good of a guitarist, songwriter, composer and poet while still being that humble of a guy. That’s what makes him a legend.
jerrys laugh is gold
HorrorQueen it sounds a little unnatural
lucas plick lol no it doesn’t it’s awesome. Everyone laughs different
Jerry cantrell and Tom cruise's laughs are soooo contagious 😅
HorrorQueen your face is gold
it's gold, Jerry!
Dude..jerry was great in that band dad skit..funny as hell..and aic still rock. New songs are good
Yeah I killed myself laughing when "Terry" asked what key the "original" was in and when he said it was in g and he just literally started playing a g note over and over. LOL!!! I wish they'd make that a whole series really.
Clinton Kimmell Dad Band was to die for.
Oh yes...when cantrell explained plumbing fundamentals..perfect..id have loved a series..jerry was great
Band Dad is bound to come back.
It's genius!
Jerry is a living legend. He has made some of the best music of the last generation who made great rock music.
Would love to see another Jerry solo album
Subscribed Degradation Trip Vol 3
Hell yeah
RicheyPlays Really? Where and when did he say that?
no
Subscribed Man lemme tell ya... It's about time for that Degradation Trip followup...
I swear I love jerry so much. Definitely one of the most underrated guitarist of all time. Also, Rest In Peace Layne Staley.

Can’t get enough of Jerry’s laugh!
It sounds wicked. In the best way.
It's too bad no one paid attention to his solo albums. They're both awesome.
I sure af did i play songs till this day

JAJAJAJA está más duro que el maestruli
I’m so confused about your post.. what are you listing?
mike yanno Really? hahaha!, Jerry's Laugh :)
Somebody PLEASE edit this video with the laugh parts only
Much respect mr.Cantrell..... been a fan since 1990
Oh please God, I soooooo wanna hear Jerry Cantrell sing "Let it Go"!!!
That sinister Cantrell laugh...
50 years old .......still remains a god damn sexy beast !!!!
This would be the first time I want Jerry to lose. Sing Frozen acoustic? Yeah! I'm down with that! Come on, Jerry!
If he went all in and did an honest to goodness acoustic version of that song it would be a viral sensation, guaranteed
Man Jerry looks so cool with his long hair.
I love the new record so much! Title song "Rainier Fog" is so amazing, you can hear Jerry out of it a lot, which I love.
Thank you guys for your hard work and this awesome piece of art!

Can't wait to hear the new album! Thank you Jerry! 💪🤘

Would love seing Jerry playing Let it go 😁
If Jerry doesn't sing Let It Go with his hair braided to the side, he's missing an opportunity. 😁 Love this dude so much..
I want to hear Jerry sing Let It Go! But like a real version with his own style and the heaviness he's known for and everything!
Greatest musician to ever live.
Jake B whoa slow down
I like the guy but that was quite the statement!
Hat 89 most underrated at the very least 🙃
He honestly is, at least in rock. His guitar ambience in his songs alone are otherworldly.
Grim Reaper who's better
Jerry you are the man. My guitar idol god, thy name is Jerry Cantrell.
I can't wait to see them in Denver! They'll only be six hours away from me. RIP Layne Staley, Mike Starr, Kurt Cobain, Chris Cornell.
Dont forget Andy Wood, he basically created the Seattle scene and opened the doors for all these guys.
@@yargnad thats not true. Alice in chains, soundgarden and nirvana were bands before MLB. Andy was in malfunkshun and jeff and stone were in green river.
@@itachiuchiha-vs8bk Andy was basically the godfather of the original Seattle scene from way back in 81- 82, years before any of those other bands.
Love you Cantrell! My Idol!
Incredible interview!
I love Jerry's laugh. And I love Jerry, all of him :-)
What a badass. Can't wait to go see him play.
I'm going to finally see them. Omg. Jerry looks Great.
Love the new record!!! Love you Jerry!!! Go Steelers 🖤💛
Damn I'm itchin to hear this album
They have released 3 songs from it if you haven't heard them yet.
I'm itchin from crabs
the singles are so fucking hard
Yeah I am really excited for this album.
Such a fucking great album
Great interview
Such a good soul.
Rainier Fog, best album since Dirt, it's the real deal, I love it. the only post-Layne album that I'm not using the skip button on, it's flawless !
Earl Brackett totally agree! So many great songs! Never Fade, Red Giant and Drone are my favorites!
All 3 Duvall era albums are epic!
So Far Under is the best one on that record so far! Love it!
The greatest harmonizer of my lifetime.
Alice in chains are as strong as ever. ❤

Jerry and the kids made it known clearly that they didn't like to be labeled " grunge ". They are a very dark rock band with tremendous talent.
You're right! I always forget that. Didn't mean ANYTHING NEGATIIVE, Jerry. Love HIM!!
They are alternative metal. They even experimented with elements of blues, country, rock and roll and even jazz. Still their foundation remains heavy metal.
I remember you when you did a surprise performance in Phoenix. Thanks!

I was born in Rainier. Memories of yellow boots and cold sunshine.
My fave 💛

Gotta love Jerry ✌️ such a cool dude. The new albums is excellent.
Can anyone help me with what wrist watch Jerry's wearing???
I would kill to sing a song with Jerry.

... If you know what I mean.
The new album is EXCELLENT
New album is great! 👍🏻

Jerry if you need someone to play catch with I'd be glad too!
helluva music maker..Better Man...
hay algun tema del que Jerry no sepa??, sabe de todo
there's a band called Free Beer, they always get a big crowd
The Vinnie Paul
Kinda crazy out of all the Seattle bands from the 90's only Pearl Jam and Alice in Chains are left standing
Melvins??
8:52 You welcome 😅
These two adore each other lol
Soooo glad he shaved. Looks like the Jerry I grew up loving
I'm ready to jump in this fantasy league guys, get at me.

Your comment gives me a touch of hope. Doing politics as a team sport will wreck the US. Provided that it is not already irreparably damaged.
Blah blah blah...just give it a rest
You dont want people to put effort into actually looking into politics and knowing the truth, lies, and everything in between ? Thats really fucking odd. Really odd
Jerry's nose is so sweet.
Where's the beard?!?!? Jerry, you've let me down, man.
I really love a lot of guitar players including the great randy rhoads R.I.P but jerry has a great heavy metal tone that’s not to intense
He lost a lot of weight since his last interview! Looking good!
I am a viking, and you taste my steel!
If Jerry has to sing "Let it go", Rich has to devote a show to ballet commentary.
AiC is the best!
Not sure about them playing In Tel Aviv, seems like they haven't heard what's going on in Israel.
Seemed like bearded-jerry was a doppelganger for the tour. Did I see the real Jerry?
Wish they had time stamps for the music talk vs. the sports talk. XD
