I was born in Tacoma.....and Jerry you nailed the aroma......love everything Alice in Chains and the solo stuff.....looking forward to everything you are doing .....the past was great but the future ...cant be matched.
AIC had every right to carry on and get a new member... its true Lane was a unique singer and performer but he succumbed to the whole 'rockstar/drugs' thing... I like a few of their songs and actually met these guys in Salt Lake opening for Extreme at a small club (in the early 90s) just before they blew up. I didn't know who they were but sat through their whole set and was somewhat impressed but I don't care for Extreme (friend gave me ticket) and when I walked out front to have a smoke Layne and Jerry walked by and I said hello and 'I enjoyed the show' etc. They were down to earth and I think Jerry still is... I think Sean Kinney is an exceptional drummer too..,.
While not initially my favorite of the Seattle-scene back in the Grunge-era, AIC has become one of the ones I respect the most out of all of them. And glad to hear a shoutout to Starbenders! I got to open for them last year, and they are pretty cool...like Concrete Blonde in the 21st Century. Awesome interview!
For all you people who keep saying who is this interviewer what's this interviewers style?. This is Steve Jones what planet are you people from?Stephen Philip Jones is an English rock guitarist, singer and actor, best known as a guitarist with the Sex Pistols. Now he is the esteemed host of Jonesy's Jukebox.. Steve or Jonesy as he is affectionately called, has interviewed literally everyone one both sides of the pond. From every genre of music and all forms of the entertainment industry. From Ted Nugent. Gavin Rossdale, David Arquette, Johnny Ramone, Eddie Vedder, Brian Wilson, Pete Townsend, Iggy Pop, Robert Plant, Courtney Love, John Waters, Common, Gary Oldman and the list goes on and on.......He has authored books and has a very reputable name in the biz . His show is supposed to have a casual laid-back conversational Style. People wake up know your stuff. Peace.
It amazes me that Jerry seems like such a down to earth guy with a good heart. I've seen other musicians that have success at a young age and they act like arrogant, self entitled jerks. I always enjoy interviews with Jerry!
Gotta love a brit....My fave moment was when Jonesy says: Ok Rainer Dog Jerry, coming out August 24, Immediately Jerry is like FOG. Jonesy: That's what I said....LOL Jerry got it.. Hilarious
That laugh ..it's undeniable ..nobody laughs like Jerry Cantrell..it's such a real laugh...I love that realness that Jerry owns .nothing faux pax about him..in a world where theirs plenty of cubic zirconia ..fakeness abounds ..it's refreshing to have such a gem ..our Jerry Cantrell....so cool 😎!!peace/ loudlove ..
I’m hoping to see him in Seattle this year and if I could request any song it’d be SUNSHINE. Please play that so I could embrace my inner stripper thanks😂🤘🏼
For once the sound is high enough to hear but it keeps popping & cutting out at the beginning so wtf is wrong with the sound guys at KLOS ? Drives people nuts. People love the show why not make sure the sound is up to a reasonable standard?
dang, i thought you were jerry, i was like, dang, jerry looks like hell--no offense! haha--but you guys look great! let the sun never blind yoooooooour eyes......
its from the last interview he did where Jones said that Jerry's name should be chemtrail. Jerry agreed because he was known to do a few "chems" back in the day
I think ppl like Jerry enjoy going on his show. They are freindly with each other, he's a fellow musician, and the vibe is more like a chat than typical boring pro interview where the same questions keep getting asked. Edit: It's worth noting Jerry keeps coming back on Jonesy's show.
The opposite. If he was so awkward I doubt he'd have so many amazing guest's on, many returning time and again. He's fantastic, down to earth and not formulaic which is probably what bothers you. Ridiculous comment you made IMO
@Maru Frusciante ok, please explain what you mean by lame in which or what way is Jonesey lame. I'm truly interested so I can understand exactly why you think this?
Jonesy is a great interview, no horseshit and always brings out the Everyman in his guests, and he’s hilarious, he got a standup vibe to him. Only a lame fuck would think Jonesy is lame
Enit Solange I actually like the chill style. Jerry's a little more comfortable here than other interviews. He's laughing a lot so you know he's enjoying it.
I love Jerry’s wisdom. He is very humble.
Always thought Cantrell and Staley had the most heartbreaking songwriting partnership in music history.
Jerrys laugh is everything lol...cant wait for the album
Jerry’s laugh gives me life. I love this man❤️
His laugh just automatically puts me in a better mood. I’d love to have a beer with him.
The clicks and pops end at 2:40.
fred ward Thank Christ for that
No doubt. :)
At least it's a good volume for a change. They need to wake up the sound guys at KLOS .
Thanks for making this comment I was about to end this shit and go on with my day lol
Props to Jerr for quitting the smokes.
Jerry looks 10 years younger without the beard and the hat
Jonesy is a sweetheart. What a great interview. Jerry looks great and seems so happy. Good to see.
horrible interview - he asks him how he's doing 5 times - plenty of awkward silence
I love that man and his crazy laugh!
Riff lord.👑
another Iommi prodigy
I was born in Tacoma.....and Jerry you nailed the aroma......love everything Alice in Chains and the solo stuff.....looking forward to everything you are doing .....the past was great but the future ...cant be matched.
22:20 excellent ! Jerry is doing Amoeba's What's In My Bag youtube show. Can't freakin' wait to see his music picks.
Saint Martins Now all I need is for Lars to do an interview with Jerry. Was a little shocked that Lars is a pretty good interviewer.
Jerry looks great
Jerry is the man.
Best Seattle Band. Still remember seeing Man In a Box Video the first time it came out.

No Layne , No Chain

These 2 click well. Great interview! Love AIC. Love Steve.
Caught the tail end of this on KLOS, Cantrell is funny as hell...
Awesome, i learnt how to play guitar by listening to AIC cd's back in the day :) Jerry's a legend :D

Two legends
Gotta love a brit....My fave moment was when Jonesy says: Ok Rainer Dog Jerry, coming out August 24, Immediately Jerry is like FOG. Jonesy: That's what I said....LOL Jerry got it.. Hilarious
It Ain't Like That, Man In The Box, Would?, Rooster. Great fucking melodies.

Your Decision , my favourite song & video is awesome as well. 😎.
@ 3:40 "That was the single version...the album version is 42 minutes long" lol.

cantrell on the cover of guitar world....get it ladies....funny
Mr. J.C.! Looking forward to hearing the album! See you up in VanCity! ^_^
Lol ... Jerry is an awesome dude.
He looks so ich younger with out a beard
Jonesy is so fucking cool
Wow, the beard is gone. Can't wait for 8/24, going to be a solid album! :D
According to Google maps it takes 2h and 17m to drive to seattle... but thats obeying all laws and speed limit...ill be there in 1:20:00!!!
this was priceless
This interview is awkward and hilarious
Love these two cantrell youre ny guitar god steve your my punk god
Is Steve wearing a shirt of himself circa 1989 here?
AIC in their prime were one heck of a roaring band, awesome live they were.
They still are.
They're still fucking awesome
@@adamturner1563 the truth is, no
@@adamturner1563 it’s a young man’s game
Music is enough to feel amazing. That kinda money rolling in too? You'd do it forever and ever! ..
Where is the beard, dude? LoL
Brazil loves AIC. We wait for you, guys! \o/
I’m hoping to see him in Seattle this year and if I could request any song it’d be SUNSHINE. Please play that so I could embrace my inner stripper thanks😂🤘🏼
No mention of Californication, best tv series ever made.
Jerrrryyyyyyyy!!!!!!!!!! "
Remember that red jacket Steve. And the Carnation...
I thought the same... Fabio!
Where's PT. 1?
Huh? That's the whole interview.
In the description it says PT. 2...weird.
Oh. I guess that it is part 2.
Jerry was on a year ago maybe that was PT. 1.
I was wondering the same thing
For once the sound is high enough to hear but it keeps popping & cutting out at the beginning so wtf is wrong with the sound guys at KLOS ? Drives people nuts. People love the show why not make sure the sound is up to a reasonable standard?
dang, i thought you were jerry, i was like, dang, jerry looks like hell--no offense! haha--but you guys look great! let the sun never blind yoooooooour eyes......
I think he still looks great. He's 52 and still looks good for 52
22:40 Jerry Chemtrail lol
its from the last interview he did where Jones said that Jerry's name should be chemtrail. Jerry agreed because he was known to do a few "chems" back in the day
atleast he took a career in being a genius song writer, and not a salesman, otherwise he'd be Jerry Cant-sell
50 cent's Financial Advisor omg that’s great
el entrevistador esta re re duro
👍👍👍
Thankful you spared us that 19-minute fart from Dave-that literally took the air out of the room, mate! 😷
Dave just took "self indulgence" to a whole new level lol
Rainier dog hehehe
I feel so bad for Jerry, Jonesy is an awkward interviewer 😬....to say the least.
I think ppl like Jerry enjoy going on his show. They are freindly with each other, he's a fellow musician, and the vibe is more like a chat than typical boring pro interview where the same questions keep getting asked. Edit: It's worth noting Jerry keeps coming back on Jonesy's show.

@Maru Frusciante ok, please explain what you mean by lame in which or what way is Jonesey lame. I'm truly interested so I can understand exactly why you think this?
Jonesy isn't in awe of his guest because hes a legend himself. I think that's why he lacks enthusiasm.
Jonesy is a great interview, no horseshit and always brings out the Everyman in his guests, and he’s hilarious, he got a standup vibe to him. Only a lame fuck would think Jonesy is lame
12th viewer woop woop! I'm officially Mr Jones number one stalker ha!
I was waiting for that reply what a surprise. Sorry I have a sense of humour shame on me. Have a nice day!
I'll forgive you if you are as far North as me ha!
I love Jerry but man he’s put on some weight... One of my favorite guitarists but he needs to take care of himself... still much love
Maybe not caning things& not smoking means he's put on weight. Looks reasonably healthy
Lol you talk like he’s morbidly obese he looks fine man 🤣😂
What a Awkward interviewer! Jerry as always trying to do his best...
the interviewer was the bassist of the Sex Pistols
@@rumblefish9 so what!? That does not make him better interviewer
Enit Solange He is a legend and it is an honor to be interviewed by him. Know your stuff before you comment .Peace
@@yvonnec3322 I know my stuff very well, both of them, but legend does not mean is a good interviewer.
