A brummie lad and a london lad talking about life, that's why I love being English. I'm from Brum and married a London lass. Best interview I've listen to in ages.
I come back to this from time to time, like dusting off old vinyl. And other Jonesy's Jukebox clips too. Steve's energy and the way it gets every guest to relax into themselves is like the hug we didn't know we needed.
ozzy’s distinct way of speaking is something you get used to, I didn’t understand much when I first started becoming a fan but now I can understand every word
Ozzy is one of my favourite people on the planet! He's been a corner stone of the music industry for many years but he's also a very funny and honest man, gotta admire that. NA1974🇬🇧.
This is the absolute #1 interview I've ever seen with Ozzy. Just him and Jonsey, two old blokes shooting the shit. No Sharon butting in or kids hanging around.. thanks for this!
I dont know what these comments are on about. Ozzy is making perfect sense, yea he gets stuck with some words but he is like 70. And he does look really good for his age.
Good to see such a LEGEND of rock and roll still alive and well. Love Ozzy in ALL his incarnations, most of us would have probably disintegrated into dust if we lived half the life he lived. Love the props to Lemmy Kilmister R.I.P. , never knew he co-writ Mama I'm Coming Home. If you activate the subtitles to get some of what he's saying you can see the subtitles miss some stuff but if you rewind a few times you can get what Ozzy is saying pretty easy and he's actually very well thought out and on point, 9:02 .
I wonder why they didn't do a duet. They would've sounded great together. The Elton John duet is nice but Lemmy would be great for a fast rock song with ozzy
Understanding what Ozzy is saying is a special skill that takes time to learn. I can understand about one out of every 5 or 6 words, but once you get used to it you can understand most of what he's saying.
I work in post-production. Yeah, yeah, this is nothing to do about the strike. Years ago, Mr. Jones was getting a burger outside his studio hearing it was from a fast food truck ( this was a pre heart attack). I happen to be walking past him in Los Angeles after leaving my car. I was putting money in the meter to avoid a ticket. I recognized him immediately. And I asked for a selfie. Steve was gracious enough to do so. It was sort of like a trophy to me. I don't run into too many celebs, but here's my point. After watching this interview, and seeing how he's handling Ozzy, who is obviously "quite unwell", and of course it now being the summer of 2023, everything has been sort of, 'confirmed' if you will.... I have to say that Steve's handling of Ozzy was just nothing less than outstanding. Gosh, what a professional he is, and to think his level of integrity is a learned behavior. I'm so impressed. Just a good man all around. Thanks for the selfie, Steve! Yes, I stopped eating red meat too....to preserve ourselves.... just a little bit longer.
with ozzy, the physical ailments are taking over from the previous 'addiction' ailments. he is getting a bit slower physically but i would say his mind is still sharp - he used to be a buffoon because he was drunk/wasted - now, he may seem so, but it's more the physical side of things that lets him down. and you can always tell that big cheery 'ozzy' smile
Gotta love how Ozzy grew up an English kid with the well known rhyme 'remember remember the 5th of November' (alluding to Guy Fawkes) and even when his event's on that date he still makes a pigs ear of it, love 'im
Ozzy the Prince of Darkness and Steve Jones the thieving punk hooligan are absolute sweethearts chatting like two old ladies lovingly remembering Lemmy and telling each other how they miss him and what a sweet guy he was, they just don’t make rock stars like this anymore, it truly was a golden age
this interview needs subtitles....between the accents and the mumbling ..LOL..I love hearing these living legends talking about the old days.Who would have thought they'd outlive them all..Rock on guys!!.
I absolutely love this. One of the founder's of heavy metal with one of the founder's of punk. Couldn't get better than that. Except maybe Lemmy still being alive because Motorhead brought the two genres together!!!!! 😈🤬🤘🖤
@@leahflower9924 Well, I did say one of the founders. He's one of the founders of English Punk. The Ramones came out on the scene in NYC way before The Sex Pistols.
The Oz has awesome hair for his age and looks great, I really don't agree with all the comments saying he looks bad or he's baked, he's old and has better doctors than Monty Burns !! I'm half his age and look like a racoon from partying and no sleep, ...I gotta learn. In Ozzy's words.....lemee see yor fukkun hands!!! Louder, louder!!!! allright let's go !!!
Yeah I noticed that. Ozzy was saying about them in Birmingham and Steve gave it the rapid subject change. Sweep it under the carpet and pretend it ain't happening English style.
Turns out, Ozzy is smart and charming. I never would have guessed. I just came here for Jonesy. Now I'm gonna have to look up Ozzy's discography and check it out.
His music is bad to the bone!! He puts on a great show too. I've seen him in concert several times, but not with Black Sabbath. My very first concert though was Black Sabbath. It was their first tour without Ozzy, first tour with Ronnie James Dio.
I relate. I hated school. I used to ride the bus to school, walk to the park and buy a joint with my lunch money, buy snack cakes at the gas station, be stoned all day, walk back to school and sneak on the bus at the end of the day. Took them forever to catch on. When I finally quit it was a huge relief cause I would much rather go to work.
I think Tony has done one? Ozzy doesn't remember that his bandmates each have done several solo albums and he sang on two of them.Tonys and Bills. His memory is shot for sure.To think hes almost 70 and still sings heavy music is truly mindblowing.A true legend in Rock.
You gotta remember though, when you're in that business for so long, those things aren't a big deal. It's probably like trying to remember your cousin's birthday party from thirty years ago.
We can but we really have to listen hard and it certainly helps if you are familiar with black country dialect. Seriously though, that area of England has produced some amazing bands. Sabbath, Priest, Diamond Head, GBH, Witchfinder General.
I like that Steve jumps in (1.08) when Ozzy's symptoms are kicking in (Parkinson's) and saves the day. The listeners wouldn't have even noticed. That's a very nice thing.
i know. american/u.s. punk were obviously the 1st punks velvets,mc5,stooges,ramones,television,sonics,death(detroit)etc..obviously pistols, clash, damned were for u.k..sabbath were a metal, hard rock band also can cater for punks as well.they even digged the pistols as well.rotten and jonesy were fans of sabbath.even sabbath could proclaimed as punks, long haired punks in the early/iest years 1968-71.they have some few fast tunes as well.so that's that.
Angelo - I have no idea what your going on about. You said Steve Jones is the Godfather of punk, he is not. Now you are just trying to cover your ass by writing a bunch of unrelated gibberish rather than just admitting you are wrong.
How does Ozzy keep his looks?! His hair, no wrinkles. Biting the heads off bats & drinking blood must be the secret to looking like a timeless rock n roller
Ozzy and Steve are the same blokes. Working class Brits of the post WW II era.
Yep, socially engineered manginas given the past generations of their olde English ilk
both dyslexics.
This doesn't need my comment at all
They both began life as juvenile delinquent criminals before rock and roll saved them!
@@judasgoat4230 A completely nasty and unnecessary comment wasn’t it?

Fair play DS - I’m also from Brum - gotta love Ozzy - don’t forget Jasper Carrott also from Acocks Green in Brum
I love how he still says “Sharon my wife” like we don’t know her LOL

OMG!!! OZZY LAUGHING IS THE MOST CUTE THING I'VE EVER SEEN. LOVE HIM!
two former hell raisers turned gentlemen. much love for these blokes
Steve Jones is worried about swearing on his show. The irony.
Did Ozzy say "fuck" at least once? I don't think so. I wonder... But he said "asshole", that's good.
He should've called Jonesy a 'fuckin' rotter' for a joke.
People not understanding your comment, GOLD :-P
HeHe took a few decades for him to get the karma for that one!!
he says shit at 18:40
Ozzy will still some how out live us all.
You probably thought Lemmy would too.
@@mjh5437 Lemmys constitution was godly but Ozzy getting too his point seems like fucking insanity at this time

Aww, thank you. That was very sweet of you to say 💜😉😂
Jonesy is perfect for this job.
