Inspired By Jerry Miculek's World Record On Six Plates At 7 Yards: How Fast Can I Do It?

  • In this video I attempt to shoot the six plate rack from the draw as fast as I can. Jerry Miculek recently did it in 2.01 with a semi auto 9mm and 1.89 with a revolver. How close can I come to Jerry's world record run?

Honestly if I can clear my cover garment in the same amount of time Jerry "my finger is a class III item" Miculek does anything, I'm happy.

your unique ability to demonstrate a champion's attitude to "compete with yourself" helps me stay focused on performing MY Best.
Attempting to DO or surpass someone else's best, has its fleeting and oh so temporary rewards, but knowing that "I" have given it all, resonates and satisfies even after the chairs are emptied and the curtain drawn.
You are not just great with a gun.

I wish I had country land like you do. If I want to shoot I have to load everything up in my boat, drive two miles to the boat dock, take the boat 5 miles down the river, unload the boat, scale a 20 foot cliff with my gear, set everything up and then enjoy shooting. All this at the age of 73. Wheww! If you lived near me I would offer to buy an acre.

I like how you explain some of the difficulties filming this. I also like how you show and explain the multiple attempts, which look more like what would be done in practice. So many novices out there seem to think that because someone is on RUclips with a gun or has prior military, LEO, or security experience or is an instructor that they are automatically Jerry Miculek. That isn't the case. This takes a lot of time and hard work. I also like how you are showing trigger discipline and not needlessly wasting ammunition to show off for the camera. Why waste the time and money? 2.69 - well done.

This makes jerrys record all the more impressive. You are quite a skilled gunman, the fact he did it with a revolver is nuts. Some might whine it is highly modified for speed and he shot prob lightest loads that will knock over steel still incredible. Him doing it with a revolver nearly a full second faster then a skilled hand gunner with an autoloader is 🤯 great shooting on both your parts, leaving most of us in the dust

DA revolvers are in no way slower to shoot than semi autos. Just slower to reload, although Miculek can reload a revolver faster than most can reload an auto too!

Practice is the difference. Love the cold crunchy ground of Nov in the North. Would it help to put the camera over the othe shoulder in the shade? But really don't worry about the glare the hook is you showing what can be done. Is that a safari land holster? Do a video on your pistol rig set up. Love your content, please keep going...😊😊😊

That’s awesome!!!! I’d love to send you my CZ-SP01-Tacticle slicked up by Cajun Gun Works.. It has a Delta Point Pro Optic and it’s smooth as glass. Zero felt recoil (almost). I guarantee you that with your skill and determination you’d break your record and come close to Jerry. If you want to try it I’d be honored to send it out to you. I’ll pay the expenses just to see you RIP IT. I’ve tried every gun imaginable and nothing comes close to that weapon at least for me. Back in my younger days I spent about 6 years as a fugitive recovery agent and carried the CZ75. There’s just something about those guns that help you grow. Cajun gun Works is absolutely phenomenal.

I have watched several of your videos and agree with others that you are definitely a fantastic shooter. The only thing I question in this video is you did it hands down at your side and Jerry did it from surrender. I am no where near as quick as you or Jerry (and don't pretend to be) but in all the draw to first shot practice I have done, I am always quicker shooting with my hands down at my side then with my hands at surrender.

My best to date, is throwing a 5” self healing star target over my left shoulder with my right hand, unconcealed with my left, drew, spun & shot under my left arm with my Glock 23, hitting that target twice, the second to be sure the first hit wasn’t just luck, similar to the bar scene in the movie I was named after, SHANE getting the guy in the balcony.
Shot a pop can off the back of my left hand multiple times, playing with quick draw, as the can is momentarily floating before beginning to fall after pulling my hand out from under it.
Want to try a clay, but currently no place to safely shoot.
Haven’t done it in years now.
Would love to test out a race gun one day!!!!
Also threw my own clays with my right hand, dropping the plastic thrower & hitting the clay with my 12 gage held in the left.
