There is a process knowing as tempering where if you need to add egg or egg yolk to a hot mixture you can take a small amount of the hot mixture and wisk the egg/egg yolk as you add the hot mixture. Then pour it to the pot once you finish mixing.

A labor of LOVE. Such a joy to watch and learn. My 87 mother-in-law taught me how to make banana pudding - but I've yet to make it alone. I learned some really helpful tips from your video. Amazing that these two women made this delicious dessert for their children and grandchildren for many years- by themselves. I would need at least four hands!

Love this! Cooking with your elders is something we everyone should be doing. Their knowledge can never replaced. Once they’re gone, all this knowledge is gone. I lost my mom 20 years ago and I wish so much that I had done more cooking with her in the kitchen. Thank goodness I learned to cook a few of her dishes because she didn’t use a recipe. It was just a little of this and a dash of that! Nobody can cook like our own mamas did!!! Thanks for sharing this and learn all you can while she’s still here and give her a big hug from me! I just love our elders, they’re so precious!❤

My Grandma taught me when I was in grade school, me and her was really the only two eaten it. So imagine us two with a nice big full bowl. I was alright with that .. being greedy 😂😂 My grown adults/ children dont😢 something is wrong if you don’t like homemade banana pudding. Only thing difference is I do mines as a double boiler and I just dumped the custard over all, take a knife and inserted downwards all over from top to bottom. But I really did enjoy your watching this video it brought back wonderful memories with my beloved Grandma.

I know I miss my Mom and Grandma too. So I make sure to care for my mother-in-law just as I would my Mom. Thanks for watching!
