I miss my Humax HDR100s after changing the hard drive twice it finally would not see the hard drive, It was a great box with front display and many other features the newest 4K box just doesn't have.
I've still got mine and it's working perfectly.. Sorry you are having problems.. did you make sure that the SATA cable is pushed home fully on the Hard Drive and the the other end on the circuit board. Does the drive spin up..
Many thanks, very clear and helpful, mine's playback (or recording ) is periodically jerky or sticky at times so maybe a warning of sticking heads or failing motor to come !
I believe that you can upgrade to 1TB. I don't know if you can go any bigger.. Remember to get a Video or surveillance drive because they are designed to be on all the time and shift lots of data. It's what they use in CCTV systems.
It has to be one that can run 24/7 and shift loads of data so it needs to say Video or Surveillance on it, the type they use in CCTV systems.. I took my hard drive out to make sure what it was then looked on Amazon for something similar and ordered one on next day delivery. I got a Western Digital but any of the big makes will do..and you may be able to upgrade, say if it's 500 mb. Go for a terabyte or something . I just kept the same size for mine.. I made that video a while back and the box is still working. I'm not an expert or anything so I had a look at what was there.
@@ron2256 i have looked at mine which is in there its a 500gb normal desktop 3.5 one bearing in mind the security tag was still in place before i opened the box stuck fast so i know wiser what to do now.

Can you change a 500gb for a bigger video hdd?

@@lifeisgood3386 I was told to use video or surveillance because normal PC ones can't handle all the data and wear out more quickly
