I'm a 57 yo guy. Queen was my first concert back in the 80s. I still shed a tear when I hear this song.
It doesn´t matter how many times you listen to it, it always hits you
Freddie... Forever and Always😭❤😭❤
The champagne glass was a tribute to Freddie on the piano.
still cry everytime even after all these years
This is the only song where I cry every single time I hear it
Understandable Kadence
Every single time! So much emotion in this song!
Me too. Without fail.
Trees e
This is such a beautiful song. The champagne glass at the end was for him ❤
Bless John, he was so broken when Freddie passed.
I’ve seen this video 100 times and I cry every time. This was also Deaky’s last video/song with Queen. He retired after this. 😢
Honey, we never run out of tears. This song is so filled with symbolism. "Flying too close to the sun." There's that image if Icarus in the beginning, and Mercury is the planet closest to the sun. "A hand above the water" stirs up an image of Freddie's statue on the shore of Lake Geneva. A lot of the lyrics are snippets from Queen songs, especially in Roger's part. And poor Deaky, so sad, so forlorn. It is really a lovely tribute.
Love your astute symbolisms. Brings a whole new wonderful perspective and warmth to the words and sentiments. Thank you for sharing.
...there's a face at the window. And he's smiling. 🎶
Princess Diana had just died and the group felt her death, and Freddie's, keenly. Having lost my mom, the tears sprung from my eyes and rolled down my cheeks. The love, the passion, the emotion, and the stunning tribute to their lives touched the deep.
The three remaining Queen members sing about how much they miss Mercury.
Shortly after this song’s release, John Deacon quietly retired (and at minute 4.58' John kinda drops the bass, so sad he was...).
And yes, I cried seeing and hearing this video. All the time. Every time.
Love you, Freddie. Miss U always 😍😍😍💔💔💔
I was feeling melancholy so was going to watch BohRap for the 100th time ( love dosing off to it) but thought I'd check in on Faith first. Needless to say, "oh, boy". My melancholy turned to tears. They all seemed like such dear friends. All so very blessed.
John Deacon drops his guitar. He is done. So sad.
Yea that is sad :-( RIP Freddie
That always gets me.
Bass*
Yes!!!! Sooo sad❤❤❤
Losing Freddie was just too much, they were always close. Deacy was always a quiet guy.
Brian had a particularly grueling interview one time and the reporter asked him, "Does he stay feel that Freddie is still around?" He replied that, "Yes, because he and Roger both ask themselves is this what Freddie would do." He also mentioned, "that when you are with someone for 20 years, touring or in the studio; you can pick up their tactics or tells." So even though it has been 28 years since the passing of Freddie Mercury, he will never die because legends live forever.
Fantastic emotional song, Freddie decided he had had enough, he was in so much pain and his quality of life was such that he said no more to the medication he was on knowing he would die. He is the only person that I have never met that I cried so hard when he died, the morning of 25th November 1991 was awful, I still have never quite come to terms with it but life goes on in his music.
It’s a beautiful tribute absolutely love it. To me it shows how much Brian loved him and thanked Freddie on behalf of them all. Life does go on but it still does not fill the void.
I lost my father when I was 5 so I relate.
Thank you Alma ❤️ ...... Thanks Faith for the reaction😘
Amazing tribute to Freddie! Thank you for this reaction. Sending love from the States!
I always cry when I see this one. Poor John barleys made it through this.
"I'M NOT GOING TO BE A ROCK STAR"
"I'M GOING TO BE A LEGEND" - FREDDIE MERCURY
He never dies because he lives in his songs and our hearts.
LOVE YOU FREDDIE MERCURY ❤️
You know you got a good band when the drummer Roger Taylor and the guitar player Brian May sings better than most bands today. "QUEEN FOREVER"
I thought I had posted this comment earlier but I couldn't see it so this may be a little redundant. Sorry if it is. This is such a beautiful song. Brian and Roger never sang better. This song is an act of love for their friend. It seemed so empty without Freddie there. But I believe he was there in their hearts and he is still here in the hearts of all his fans throughout the world. Thank goodness we have videos of the legend that Freddie Mercury is. His voice, his lyrics, his ear for music, and all he gave to make Queen songs great lives on. There will never be another Freddie. No one sings better. We all know how diverse his singing skills were. Nobody does it like Freddie. OMG he is missed. I cried through this whole song. Always do. UGH!!!! Thank you Faith for another great reaction.
Hey lasuna!! You are welcome as always!! Yes it was definitely a hard song to hold back tears on. Brian did a fantastic job and Roger as well! Im sure that Freddie was there in spirit as well!! Thank you for the love and support!! I appreciate you being part of the Off Tap Family!! Much love to you always
Lasuna...that post landed on Brighton Rock reaction.Thats why you dont see it. Loved it though...just thought I would let you know what hsppened
@@marggie4129 thank you Marggie. I doesn't make much sense there. Maybe I'll try to delete it.
Oh I knew what song you were talking about..figured you just made a mistske
@@marggie4129 well I did for sure make a mistake. I went back and deleted it. Thank you for letting me know about it
Sensational! In case your wondering, the illustration is of Icarus from Greek mythology. I liked that lyrical reference-"their only flying too close to the sun." I agree, Brian May and Roger Taylor are such beautiful but criminally underrated singers. This song truly showed that Freddie was really like a brother to them, not just their frontman. The looks on their faces, in their voices and in every note their sorrow is clear and were doing all they can to keep it together and not break down crying, (not that I'd blame them if they did). The champagne glass on the piano was in homage to Freddie who would toast his audiences with champagne sometimes during special gigs. Last year, Brian and his wife went on pilgrimage to Zanzibar, where Freddie was born to retrace his childhood steps and see his old house, his old school and even the hospital where Freddie and his sister were born. In case your wondering, bass player John Deacon took Freddie's death the hardest. After making this video and recording the song, John only participated in a Queen collaboration with Bejart- Ballet for life in honor of Freddie, who was a huge lover of Ballet and opera. After those projects, John retired from music and the public eye completely. While he's basically involved in the band's finances and he gave his blessing for the movie Bohemian Rhapsody to be made, he's basically a recluse. He never even really wanted to be a rock star from the get go. Thank you. I highly recommend "Long away", sung by Brian and Freddie's last onscreen music video "These are the days of our lives", same name as the documentary you started watching. Take care.
Thanks for all of this - most of which I had heard or knew from my long-time Queen obsession - when I saw them for the first time in Kalamazoo, MI at the age of 16, I remember Freddie in the "encore" coming out with a glass and lifting a toast to the audience, saying "I hope you ALL have champagne for breakfast!" -
@@GinMae You are SO. LUCKY!!😲
So much more references - 'hand above the water' is his statue at montreux, 'flying too close to the sun' also refers to 'Mercury' being the closest planet to the Sun (remember, Brian is an astrophysicist) etc etc
@@DalajLjama Of course. Thanks!
Listen to THESE ARE THE DAYS OF OUR LIVES when Freddy says goodbye to his fans
Would be amazing!
Actually, that was Roger's song. Freddie's goodbye is "was it all worth it"
@@juttapopp1869 Yeah, but it got whole new meaning when Freddie sang it.
And the words Freddie says at the end "I still love you" was ment to fans. In original version he also waves his hand to the fans after he say it.
So yes, it was his last music video "good bye" to fans.
@@johngraham5996 lmao tf is wrong with u?
When Brian sings their is a face at the window and I am never saying goodbye, that gets to me. You can that They really love him. And they were family. To this day, they honor Freddie everyday. Every lyric has a meaning. For example Hand above the water is about the statue in Montreux.
This is the most heart breaking song ever and it is all about Freddie for me :'(
Great honest reaction. You made an excellent point about people being gone too soon - too soon? Part of their journey? I lost my Mom when she was young and it felt too soon for me. My Dad and I were very close and he said you don’t ever get over losing someone you love, however you eventually get used to it and learn to live a happy life without them. This is true. My Mom has been gone for 32 years now. My Dad has been gone for almost 6. I lost my sister a year after my Mom. The thing that gets me through the grief is that the love doesn’t stop when someone dies. It lives on unchanged in your heart forever. Bless you Faith.
Faith, every time I watch this video I cry, so let it go, it breaks my heart to see how John just stops playing towards the end, you can see the heartbreaking in his face, I must tell you, I started watching your reactions again today at 3:00 p.m. USA Central time and it is now 10:00 P.M and here I am still watching you, some over and over again, your reactions have kept me going during this hard times we are all in, staying in, and like you, I am alone, your talking and explaining makes me feel so much better, and like you speaking directly at me, thanks for being you, and please don't ever change from this old lady
Lost my mom too soon as well, she was only 58...still miss her every day...this song is really meaningful for me, not just for Freddie, but for my mom. It’s a beautiful song, thanks for reacting to it.
Hey Molly Im sorry to hear about your Mom sending lots of love your way!! It is really a beautiful song I agree completely. All the best to you!!
Thank you for your beautiful words Faith! It's a sad song and video. I don't listen to of often, because it mostly makes me sad for different reasons. but I do absolutely love this song. It's beautiful, it's a temporary goodbye song, it's sad but also with beautiful and uplifting words. And I am glad you reacted to it, even though it must have been hard. I am sorry for your mothers los, it must have been hard to get some peace with it. I bet she's very proud of what kind of person you are
Thanks, Faith - story I recall is that Brian wrote the song & sent it to Roger to see if he wanted to do it -- but Roger got his DVD or whatever and threw it in a drawer and never looked at or listened to it for some time... Brian assumed that Roger was uninterested... but Roger finally got around to it and that's when it came together -- funny that might never have come about because Roger was absent-minded! (and great that they got John on it -- if it had been much later, he might not have done it...) --
I think grief kept Roger from listening. His grief is so often overlooked because he dealt with it more privately. Freddie's partner Jim called Freddie and Roger soulmates. Roger's body language and eyes show his grief.
@@camh5036 Could be - but I saw an interview where Roger said he "threw it in a drawer" and forgot about it.. only discovering it later... not discounting Roger's feelings, of course.. he certainly felt Freddie's loss as much as any...
Always gets me!! Queen showing what a quality band they are . Roger and Brian better singers than the majority of front men.
If you want more feels you should check out Brian May singing love of my life with Freddie in Birmingham.
Love the channel keep up the good work!
A proper fairwell, sad and powerful at the same time. They loved him so much that Brian had difficult time to deal with his death.
They were like family so it's very emotional for them and that is why I think they never perform it again.
So Faith I’m not going To.😢😭😢It’s a beautiful song and what a tribute. It hits you in your soul. We all have to miss him and still go on. And I’m just glad queen still goes on.❤️😃👍🌼✌️
The drawing if Icarus that's shown first is one Freddie did while in art College.
Thank you Alma...I have been looking forward to this...but not looking forward to it either...if that makes sense. This makes me cry every time. Roger did Old Friends too...this was dedicated to Freddie. Keep positive Faith...we all suffer our highs and lows. You are fabulous..and you are doing a fab job. I am having a drink tonight as it's my Birthday today..woohoo... much luv Faith and to our Fam.
Great reaction my friend...where you first paused it Freddie's sticking his tongue out at you!
Hey Kelly lol haha that is crazy funny hehehe Cheeky Freddy love it!!! Appreciate the support thank you for being part of the Off Tap Family!! Much love to you!!
Thank you for this reaction, , yes I cried!!it is just so heartbreakingly beautiful! ❤️
Absolutely the most beautiful and heart wrenching is A Winters Tale. I listen to it every day. Please react to it.
Thank you!!
There's a line in highlander the movie. Which so happens Queen did the sound track for. That line is " it's better to burn out than fade away" I think that is very apt for Freddie....
I cry every time, great reaction. Thank you.
Greetings from Germany...i always wonder that i still have, from time to time, some tears i can cry...like you said..way too much tears. And than i remember the last thoughts Freddie had. Something he absolutly don't wanted. That family, friends and fans see him like that in his final days. He always wants to make happy, make them laugh and feel great. Thats what he was worried about. Remarkable. Selfness on highest Level. What a person....i remember that and stop crying. My smile gets growing, tears change into 'happy tears', my heart fills up with love and joy. And i know, exactly this reaction, puts a smile on Freddies face. Thank you for that lesson, dear Freddie. Its such a huge support for me, thinking that way, to handle difficult and sad things in life. Thanks...The Show Must Go On...🌈💚🌈🥰
Check out 'These Are the Days of Our Lives' next. The last video with Freddie
Then Mother Love, Freddie's last song he was recording
It's beautiful but I don't know if she can handle that. I love this song and the first time I heard it I wasn't aware it was Queen at first.
In typical Freddie humour, he said in an interview that he's going to hell because it will be so much more fun there LOL then he laughed with that unique laugh he had - a great personality and a great man, a musical genius who was a gift to the human race.
If only he were still here, rip
Agreed RIP Freddie! Much love to you Kadence tnx for the support!!
no problem! your Queen videos always make my day :)
Ignore the name; Im a woman! Queen's Breakthrough was on a moving train! How could they play while traveling so fast and going through dark tunnels? Re George Michael: He had the best vocals at Freddie's Tribute Concert soon after he died. He hit a really high note, just like Freddie, at the end of his song! The audience went wild! Watch it!
If you want a Queen song that reaches out and grabs you by the feelies and twists them until your eyes leak, check out "These Are The Days of Our Lives". The last video Freddie made. Make sure that you have plenty of tissues to hand.
I love this song it really tugs at my heart the other song you should do is mother love it is Freddie s last songdidn't finish it is Brian that sings the last verse.
Yeah I always promise myself that I'm not going to cry either, easier said than done. I'm sorry you lost your mom at a young age . I lost my dad a few years ago and he was very sick towards the end and I tried so hard to keep him here and I realize now that I was being selfish and I had to let him go. You're right sometimes it's their time even if we don't see it that way.
React to Roger Taylor's Old Friends. Also the live version of Say It's Not True and Surrender (about domestic violence)
Yes old friends is so sweet , just like Rog.
As a tribute, I prefer Old Friends by far. It's lovely.
Thanks! I will definitely have to check those out
His spirit flies high, he's my angel.
This 1 hits me really hard right now, the 6 year anniversary of my Daddy's passing, just recently happened. I was a major Daddy's Girl, and have been in tears almost daily, I thought I was getting better, but this 1, just brought all of the memories, right back at full speed...I will love him, everyday of my life, and know that he's watching down on me in Heaven. Thank you for doing this song❣🌹💖✌
My dad passed away 2 months ago and life does go on but it sucks. He was only 76 and was in excellent health until about mid November.
I hope you went back and watched this video. The only reason you didn't cry is because you avoided looking. It's GOOD and RIGHT to cry, it opens room to be stronger. Just saw a video of Brian saying they had a few closing shots but he asked them to do one of the champagne glass. Right after Rudi says "cut" Brian saw something and said, "What was that?" Turns out a small moth flew around the glass! Serendipity!
John gave up when Freddy died he stopped playing
John Deacon is hurting so much, as he drops the bass. So touching. They are all hurting. I am hurting, still. And I cry every single time I see this video and hear this song, I cannot help myself.
You are truly real and your comments are heart felt. With our love and theirs Freddie will live for all eternity.
Sad for the loss of ya mom OTL. I’m lucky I’m 55 and live 1klm from my parents. Dad’s 78 Mom’s 77. Every day is a blessing
Thanks so much for sharing this Man's , and this bands Brilliance with a new generation who may not hear it if it weren't for folks like you on You Tube. Freddie , a boy from Zanzibar rose from and insecure, shy kid with an overbite , but believed in himself and his dream , and his incredible talent enough to become the greatest Rock-Pop singer , in one of the greatest , most talented bands in Music history. I'm so glad he did ...his music spoke to me as a young kid growing up in the 70's, and inspired me to become a musician , and sing with many bands through the years. What a Stellar tribute this song is to his memory, and how poignant to hear it come from his own bandmates who he himself called his family..Great reaction video young lady. Keep up the good work , and keep doing what you do , no matter what music you listen to. "You really Listen" !
I put this song on a loop on youtube. Me and mom were sobbing for about an hour. My dad was 83, married to her for over 50 years, and he was still too young.
That was a beautiful sermon, Faith, reminding us that in spite of pain and trouble we must go on. Thank you for baring your heart and soul to us.
I still find Mother Love sadder, where Freddie died before he could record the last verse, and Brian did it. It hit me like a brick when Made in Heaven came out.
You need to do these are the days of our lives its such a moving song it was Freddie's good bye song very sad towards the end its one of my favourites altho he looks so poorly he still sung his heart out. A must see
John's last appearance
You did it! You only went and did it!
I feel what you're saying about not giving power to negative emotions. I don't mind it too much myself though. I tend to view it more like a purge, rather than giving power to it. I often feel like the negative emotions fill up and giving into them is just a way of purging them out of my system, then I can get back to normal. I think that's a physiological thing too. Apparently emotional tears specifically, are full of the body's stress hormones. It seems like it's your body literally de-stressing itself. I guess it's just a case of 'am I deliberately creating the stress myself', 'does it need to happen/is it unavoidable'?
I'm going on now. Psychology and biology are fascinating. I hope you feel better soon. It's only temporary.
can you please react to queen - bring back that leroy brown. it is very unique from the rest of the queen catalog and those harmonies you love so much are there on a level bawsssss....please
I'm boo hooing and I've seen this so many times. But I never get 0ver it. Freddie is young forever, that's the only way I can handle it.
I lost two beautiful sisters They were only 23 and 25 Both breast cancer I was diagnosed before both of them the same shit Yet here I am ! ?? Not right eh ??
Huge Queen girl and there music kept me going thru chemo etc ... But this tribute ???
Can’t ever listen to this still without crumbling &
Poor John
He just threw it all up He was devastated when his best friend died ..
so I can totally relate xxx
I am truly sorry for your loss, I have lost my mother and sister who was only 53 to cancer , an also my brother. It's so hard and now everything with virus, the only thing that gets me through each day and I am not kidding is listening to Queen. I listen to other bands but only Queen and Freddie can give you a feeling no other band can. Brian's songs are so beautiful I just love them. Stay safe everyone!!!! God Bless!!!
Um belo tributo mexe com a alma
Fancy that dropping an Aussie alegie in Such Is Life. Aussie bush ranger Ned Kelly said that right before they hung him. Sorry away from this wonderful song that just brings me to tears
I really do like you! Thanks to Dimash I came to your channel earlier this evening.
There's a "Making of..." video for this. It's even sadder 💜
As a Christian, I hope and pray that Freddie turned to the Lord in the end. It won't be heaven for me, if Freddie isn't there when i get there.
Beautiful reaction ❤💗💘💞💓💕🌹
Look at Save Me onstage. You will love it
Let me tell you something, with your personality, you can do wayy more than reactions. Im not saying you aren't good at doing reactions cuz i love them but,i see so much potential for you to be in the yt content creator community, idk why i said this but i just wanna let you know that i love your reaction vids
Would be great if you could continue the days of our lives documentary 🙂
This is absolutely beautiful and I don't think it's as bad as " Those Were the Days of Our Lives".. I look at the beauty of this song even though they were missing Freddie Mercury and so many other millions and billions of people are as well. This song is just a complete tribute to Freddie Mercury and why I love it so much.
Freddie Mercury's family were zoroastrians and leave that life should be lived to the fullest. Life was a celebration and make every moment count.
Please react to These are the Days of our lives 💘
😭
I don't the boys got over Freddie's death.
I stopped watching the news on TV, yrs ago. However I do read it (so I’m in control of what I want to hear about. But I miss things sometimes. If there’s anything VERY important, one of my kids will let me know.
So I’m very confused about the change of age when one is considered an adult. When did it from 18 years old, to 13 years old? This is huge news!!
That affects so much: I have so many questions…
They graduate sooner?
Allowed to drive at a younger age.
Allowed to join the military when they enter adulthood. I think that’s a bad idea.
WHEN DID THE AGE OF ADULTHOOD CHANGE??
I’m going to be calling my kids and ask why, at least one of them (I have 4) didn’t bother to let me know.
Maybe a different word could have been used instead of “adult”.just sayin. 🤣
Ouch....
.
Don't pause. Talk after video.
Hey Gamet! Hope all is well! This is a reaction channel so I react how I feel in the moment its how I roll and no set rule to the outcome as it changes with every song I do. I go with the flow so if the flow makes me feel like not stopping then I won't and if it makes me feel like stopping then I will. With that being said I always include the link of the original version in the description where you can go listen to it in its entirety after watching my reaction. Thank you for the support though I really appreciate it!! Welcome to the channel and please stay safe!! Much love!!
