Outstanding- you really show what values is beyond the old 10 box scale. Thank you Matthew!

This is great video! I applied it in my quick watercolor painting and it looks so much better than my older paintings. Thank you so much!

Check out Andy Evansen's tutorials ) It's the method of painting he populated. And yeah! It really works perfectly.
I just think it's allowed to put more than 3 layers if you need to make a deeper contrast or paint a more detailed object.

I'm glad I found your channel early on. It's standard to hear you should work lights then mids then darks... but your instructions have provided a lot of clarity making learning less daunting. If I hadn't had seen you tie together your initial wash a few times, I'm pretty sure I would have called paintings a defeat before giving myself a chance. I'm growing quite comfortable with my plein-air landscapes.
Thank you for another solid demonstration

I usually minimize my list of subscriptions simply because I hate to see my email full, BUT... I am extremely glad I subscribed to your email list and came early here to enjoy your wonderful video.
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and expertise. I'm a well established artist yet I benefit tremendously from you in the subject of water color since I'm used to oil and acrylics. Now I'm enjoying more the art of watercolor specially after following your channel.
Best regards and greetings from Saudi Arabia.💚

I always look forward to your videos, Matthew. I am looking for videos that show how to mix very dark values with more vibrant colors. Mine always look dull.

Hi Matthew - love your paintings and enjoy your style of instruction. Hope to emulate your work in some small way. I know you advocate wetting both sides of the paper and not taping your paper down so how did you get the crisp outside borders on these paintings without taping? Thank you!

Hi, I'm following your videos for long time. Can you put a video about watercolor timing ? I'm struggling for this for a long time.

Do you wet the back of your paper for each painting session in order for there to be no warping of the paper? It's an interesting method! I might have to try it!🤔
