I was absolutely ecstatic and definitely freaking out with seeing Din Djarin and the legendary Darksaber again in this episode. Also, seeing him fix, modify, and pilot a N-1 starfighter was absolutely incredible, especially when he said "wizard" after the test flight. I like to thank the lovely Bryce Dallas Howard for directing yet another Star Wars masterpiece.
The night of a thousand tears wasn't a war, it was the extermination of a planet. The empire launched a surprise night attack and wiped out the planet and most of the Mandolorian people
The Return of The Mandalorian = the return of Din Djarin and Mandalor as a whole. This episode was pure magic. From the moment he appeared that Mando magic was back.
My feeling is that we've had two full seasons to get attached to Din Djarin and Grogu and the Mandalorians in general. So it's understandable that an episode that brings back a fan favorite and delves into Mandalorian lore is going to resonate strongly with fans. I don't think loving this episode diminishes the characterizations of Boba or Fennec or the quality of their stories. 😊
Dude, Bryce Dallas Howard mentioned all the reaction videos she watched for this episode on her IG. Your photo was included in her post with a shout out !!!!!! Amazing! ❤️🙌🏻
Don't be mad about Paz Vizsla for wanting the dark saber. It's his family heirloom and he has the right to challenge Mando to have it. This is the way.
This episode was basically just an episode of Mando and I don’t even care. I’m so happy and it was so satisfying. This was everything good about Mando s1 and 2 and the prequels and rebels all wrapped up in a glorious bundle. And Grogu next episode!!! Let’s gooo!! I think he’ll only visit then go back to Boba. Din I mean. He won’t bring Grogu into a battle unnecessarily. I think he made him a new ball toy on a chain. Maybe it’ll eventually become part of his light saber. I’d love to see him become a Mandalorion jedi. It was also great to see the armorer and Paaz Viszla again. I didn’t really realize how coltish their covert was until she started explaining about Bokatan and the way. But I also liked learning more about their creed. That their views on attachment were the opposite to the jedi. And that ship building montage was cool if a bit long. Same with the flying sequence. Now this is pod racing! I definitely think him going to Mandalor will be a big arc in s3 as well as him trying to redeem himself while trying to find his own path. He had good reason for taking off his helmet those times. Oh and we can’t forget Mando’s two iconic lines! That made my heart happy. That beginning felt like the pilot. Though he struggled real hard with the dark saber. I loved seeing him train. But he needs a jedi’s help not another Mando’s. Particularly with the mental aspect which is mostly foreign to Din since he’s not force sensitive and never even heard of jedi until pretty recently in the timeline. I can’t wait to see him reunite with Grogu! I hope Luke is ok with it. But there has to be a season 2 now. Not enough time to wrap everything up. But this story needed to be told. No Star Wars show gets me hyped like Mando.
I loved it but I know they wouldn't just show Boba up like that in his own series. I'm holding on to the notion that everything some kind of way connected back or affects Boba. I would love to see Grogu again but I don't think they are going to do it. Not after all that effort to make us feel ok with him giving him to Luke. I'm wondering how Mando got away from Bo Katan without her trying to get that saber from him. The shop lady acted like she didn't send him a message at first. How Fennac know he was there?
@@ateam404 Fennec runs the city together with Boba... How the fuck would she not know that a Mandalorian came to the planet via a commercial spacecraft?
@@ateam404 and he landed in that city... aside from the fact that she's a master assassin so tracking is what she does for a living. As for bo katan she wasn't beating Din one on one and she knew it, so letting him leave with the saber is nothing more than her biding her time. You seem to have the "now or never" child mentality going on. She now has a direct providence on the saber. She doesn't need/want to jump head first into a confrontation until she's 100% sure she can win. As for grogu and luke, they're not killing off their money maker and we all know what happens to Luke's academy so yeah, you're definitely getting more grogu. If not in this series, he's definitely coming back in the mando s3.
Loved your intro and post discussion, as always! My heart hurt when Mando was looking at his little Grogu shaped bundle. Steven, I loved hearing you compare the dwrk saber learning to Rebels. So true. So much fun to listen to both your thoughts and nod in agreement. Also, Nikki, you remind of the babe. What babe? The babe with the power. Great shirt! 💙
Anyone else get the vibe that the armorer is/was a Jedi? She seems to know a bit about their ways, and the way she was meditating, plus her curiosity about what caused his wound definitely got me thinking.
That was my guess too. Din Djarrin is going to help take back Mandalor with Bo Katan and her crew. They basically set that up to happen in the last season of the Mandolorian and in this episode. Idk why but I find Mandolorian lore really interesting, far more than the Jedi.
The Phantom Menace: "Now this is podracing!" -Anakin Skywalker after single handedly blowing up the Trade Federation ship. A New Hope: "Just like Beggar's Canyon back home." -Luke Skywalker during the Death Star Trench Run. Book of Boba Fett: "Wizard." -Mando piloting his new customized classic.
Like poetry...it rhymes. Now, all We need is to see Jedi Master Luke Skywalker visiting Tatooine, reuniting with Fixer and Camie, and flying a brand new T-16 over Beggar's Canyon...and Our journey will be complete (in Darth Vader voice).
I went into this episode thinking we'd see Boba & crew would look for Din but only find him in the last 10 min...Imagine my pleasant surprise, and everyone else's, that we get a episode of Mando, with only Fennic in the last 5 min! Amazing episode, & a GREAT way to say bye-bye to the flashbacks, & on into the future! ...Like a pallette cleanser!! 🤘😁
As I have commented on other reactions I don't think we will see Grogu next episode. I think it will be Boba recruiting other people. Mando will be on his way to see Grogu. I think Mando will arrive in the last episodes with out Grogu and season 3 episode one will show him meeting Grogu.
I agree. There could be so many details in what the visit would be & how it would look, etc. I mean everyone wants to see the training & I imagine that's gotta be a lot of director's work worthy of several episodes to get into it all.
Big hint there with the armorer ,legends say a myithosaaur will spring fourth and usher in a new age . Oh btws you have to go to the (living )waters to get your MOJO back.
I like how they’ve switched around whom can criticise whom between the Mandalorians and Jedi. Luke absolutely will not be forcing emotions down and The Armourer is definitely going down that path. Even though she claims that they’re emotional, she speaks monotonously and only ever criticises others. She has never offered support or guidance in the form of kindness.
Seeing Din flying through Begger's Canyon reminded me of what Quigon Gin said about podracing. Very dangerous and very fast. You must have Jedi reflexes.
with the mando and darksaber lore we actually also got a lot of general lightsaber lore and why it usually takes a highly trained jedi to wield one, int he end the darksaber is the weapon of a jedi. I loved that so much, its often quite to easy how others than jedi fight with those weapons. I loved how they portayed the heaviness of the saber. also, how good is BDH? she should get her oen SW show, seems like she kind of gets the core of SW.
It’s also said that the Darksaber works differently to normal lightsabers. Typical lightsabers fire power through the crystal, the Darksaber fires it from the crystal, which means it has much more of a connection to the wielder. Your average person could learn to use a lightsaber after a few months easily. Not to expert levels, but there are Sith Assassins who weren’t sensitive and still massacred Jedi.
That droid that helped din re-build the ship is a BD unit, which is a little nod to the game "Fallen Order" which you should definitely play if you haven't already.
Your ideas and exposition regarding the possibilities of the BOBF and the Mandalorian tie-in plot is probably one of the best on RUclips so far. Great video and keep up the good work.
Mando probably has already contributed to Boba Fett's war: that thing the Jawas just stole from a Pike ship sure is going to make some difference during the fight, that can't be a random detail.
Given the tight nature of storytelling in a movie format, there's not a lot of extra time, so everything has a reason for happening. It's just a matter of whether people are paying attention (like you) or not. ;)
I reckon that when Boba has his ‘generals’ around him and is planning his war on the Pykes, Din will suggest using the Jawas to sabotage the Pykes’ vehicles. It would be an angle that no one would have thought of. The Jawas exist on Tatooine in such a way that they are barely noticed unless you have a direct reason to interact with them. The Pykes waking up one morning to a huge attack, then finding that _all_ of their vehicles have been stripped of parts would just be awesome!
Just got caught up on all the Book 'sodes... I gotta grin on my face that just will not stop... And I like the new ship. Looking forward to the next installment. Very Fun! ... And the look on the Republic pilots faces when he opened her up was priceless. I also do believe the old "guy" is just kick'n back and enjoying his self. Yes I do, and I suspect he's way more clued in then he appears.
"Using layers of Beskar steel, you will forge a blade in your signature style to meet the following parameters. It must be between 12 and 14 inches, and have a through tang. Once you have completed your blades, they will be tested for strength in a Stormtrooper helmet chop, and for sharpness in a tauntaun hide slice."
I just want to see those smiles on the first minute. I was screaming when I saw him enter and then I wanted to hug the guy, prepare him a tea and give him a blanket XD!
The scene with Mando putting his weapons into that trunk reminded me of the scene in Mad Max Thunderdome where Mel Gibson is stacking his weapons on a counter so he can enter, and the stack keeps getting taller and taller!
I think the friend Din mentions in the end is NOT Grogu.. it wouldn't really make sense for it to be him at this point in the story...Since they are in Tatooine I think it makes more sense if it's Cobb Vanth and maybe they'll have him join up in the fight. It would be pretty cool since Vanth once wore Boba's armor and him meeting the REAL Boba Fett would probably be a pretty cool scene.
Holy shit what an episode 5. Damn that was so good. Bryce Dallas Howard did an amazing job in directing the episode. After the episode 5 I had tears of Joy in my eyes. ♥️♥️♥️ In that episode you have seen why the Mandalorian works and the book of Boba Fett not. Just my opinion.
The empty space where a droid would sit in Mando new ship is Grogu size. I think Grogu will end up with the dark sabre and he will become a jedi/foundling and lead Mandalore
I LOVED every moment of this episode. Mando, Pelli, reference to Grogu, the music, the armour, the Darksaber, Mando calling a tiny droid “little guy” - so much growth! Interesting to see Mando thinking things over - Bo Katan and the lifestyle of the Jedi, and how he differs from them. Also, how he might not completely believe the same things he used to…
You can feel how torn he is about what it means to be a Mandolorian. His world has been destroyed in more ways than one. Since Jedi don't allow relationships, I wonder what will happen if he finds out where Grogu is and is denied the chance to see him.
@@lynettebranch4463 He’s definitely questioning everything. I’d love Luke to turn around and say, “The old rules are ridiculous - the Empire would still be going strong if not for the relationships I built with Han and Leila!” Actually address something we’ve been screaming at our screens since the first prequel film came out!
When I said I wanted a crossover with Halo and Star Wars, I was more thinking "Master Chief joins Delta Squad," but y'know what... I'll take manufactured ring worlds existing in Star Wars.
I didn't notice he was already struggling with the DS in the first fight until watching the reviews. Great detail. My bet is Grogu is getting a chain shirt. Pretty sure I saw the armorer making rings.
Some cool call backs in the episode. Starship/pod racer way cool. The “ramp” as he’s flying though the canyon same one anakin crashed through and ran up in episode 1. The droids on Mandalore…..think K2SO from rogue one. “Wizard” comment. Same as what anakins little buddy says when he’s talking with anakin about the pod racer. Really awesome episode. Niki’s face…..jaw dropped while he’s slicing bodies. Totally hilarious.
And to answer Steven’s question, yes, we’re going to see Grogu and Luke Skywalker on the Book of Bobba Fett. We’re being setup to see Grogu in beskar chain mail. Maybe Luke can teach Mando how to wield the dark saber.
its a sweet starfighter! he has a hotrod with the star wars version of nitrous oxide...thats freakin cool! we're not gonna see grogu....theres no time. im surprised they devoted the entire episode to Din as awesome as it was.

That little BD droid (not the same one, but his model) was introduced in Fallen Order btw and already stole the show there. I was SO happy to see it in live action
#1. I LOVE those t-shirts! Nice combo...The Goblin King and STAR WARS...it rhymes. Nikki: "This is MESSED UP...that's what THIS is..." Steven: "Han shot first!" (Damn straight...) Din Djarin: "First, I gotta go pay a visit to a little friend..." Steven: "OH, WHAT?!" Nikki: "No, don't end the episode right now! I NEED TO SEE HIM!!!" Great reaction, you 2. Yes, Steven, all of it, gave Us the feels. Din considers Boba part of his "Clan"...just like Boba considers Din a member of his (newish, growing) "Tribe".
Don't know if it helps or if you already knew but the Creed they keep talking about it is: The Resol'nare, or Six Actions when translated from Mando'a into Galactic Basic Standard, were the central tenets of Mandalorian life. They consisted of wearing armor, speaking the language, defending oneself and family, raising your children as Mandalorians, contributing to the clan's welfare, and when called upon by the Mand'alor, rallying to their cause. New Mandalorians, as they are called, from Mandalore don't follow the Resol'nare like Death Watch does.
What an episode! Easily the best of the series so far. I wonder if Mando will go through with his redemption in the end - his tribe is down to just two other Mandalorian extremists. It's so weird that Boba Fett is so soft, petting puppies and everything and Mando is the gunslinger that Fett used to be. It must be deliberate.

@@ronweber1402 You'd need a lot more than what was in that little ass bag. I mean, where the hell did most of the Beskar go?
Perfect setup for season 3
I was absolutely ecstatic and definitely freaking out with seeing Din Djarin and the legendary Darksaber again in this episode. Also, seeing him fix, modify, and pilot a N-1 starfighter was absolutely incredible, especially when he said "wizard" after the test flight. I like to thank the lovely Bryce Dallas Howard for directing yet another Star Wars masterpiece.
Nikki’s adoration of Grogu is infectious. I’m here for it.
This was such a fan service kind of episode and I ain't even mad.
I'm just excited to see where things will go in the next episode.
I really love the ship they gave mando. I feel like it’s going to be really cool to see him dog fight in future episodes
@@connorspiess9817 I agreed. It's unique too. It's got both the call back and feels... new.
The night of a thousand tears wasn't a war, it was the extermination of a planet. The empire launched a surprise night attack and wiped out the planet and most of the Mandolorian people
OGHawkeye666 also the Empire destroyed The Dome City seen in The Clone Wars & in Rebels the newer settlements outside of the Dome.
And the empire wonders why everyone in the galaxy hated them
The Return of The Mandalorian = the return of Din Djarin and Mandalor as a whole.
Imagine Baby Yoda face when Mando will push turbo speed 😆😆 he will love it.
Dude, Bryce Dallas Howard mentioned all the reaction videos she watched for this episode on her IG. Your photo was included in her post with a shout out !!!!!! Amazing! ❤️🙌🏻
That Mandalore destruction flashback looked like a bunch of droids that are K-2SO style droids from Rogue One
Don't be mad about Paz Vizsla for wanting the dark saber. It's his family heirloom and he has the right to challenge Mando to have it. This is the way.
This is the way
This is the Way.
*Sigh* this IS the way.🙄
2022 will be a good year! I knew it after daddylorian said:
-“I Can Bring You In Warm, Or I Can Bring You In Cold” 🔥🤭🤯🤩
Din misses Grogu just as much as WE do!😭 Also Nikki's excitement for Grogu is pretty adorable!
This was a damn good episode. Probably the best 'set up' episode I've seen out of any show.
I’m totally convinced this is the original mando season 3 episode 1 and they decided to add it to this show last minute
@@San4311 because they run a city and not the whole entire planet.
Was that Cal Kestis' BD droid or just another BD droid? Also, what was your favorite callback this episode?
I'm pretty sure it was another BD droid. It probably wasn't Cal's BD. We have no idea what his fate is or that of his friends.
Not necessarily a callback, but I loved that cheesy ass look of the little cloth bag being shaped like Grogu's head.
didnt she call him bd5? but deffiantly cute I loved BD from fallen order
I loved that it was a fan service love letter to The Phantom Menace, properly linking the prequels and the original (and after).
@@frances3064 no R5 the astromech droid
I'm only here for Nikki's reaction to the Grogu mentions and the Grogu head shaped cloth wrapping. Lol.
Seeing the armorer, dark saber, Mando, reference to Grogu… I’m all in. But also, this labyrinth sweatshirt. 👏🏼
Wasnt expecting s3 episode one of The Mandolorian just yet, but I will forsure take it.
Hey no complaints from me. It was a welcome surprise.
That was my guess too. Din Djarrin is going to help take back Mandalor with Bo Katan and her crew. They basically set that up to happen in the last season of the Mandolorian and in this episode. Idk why but I find Mandolorian lore really interesting, far more than the Jedi.
12:27 we shall forget about the whistling birds then lol
Bryce Dallas Howard saw your reaction!!! She posted your thumbnail on her instagram, congrats guys!!
FYI the xwing pilot is the same guy who filled in as Luke in Mandalorian Max Lloyd-Jones
Boba's crew now has 3 bounty hunters a master assassin and a street gang
Just finished the episode. This is a candidate for my favorite hour of Star Wars EVER. Movies included.
It was very good
I like how they’ve switched around whom can criticise whom between the Mandalorians and Jedi.
25:04 "Anakin, you're crazy. Spinning, is _not_ flying." "But it's a good trick." 😁
with the mando and darksaber lore we actually also got a lot of general lightsaber lore and why it usually takes a highly trained jedi to wield one, int he end the darksaber is the weapon of a jedi.
What would be cool is if we see Grogu and Luke in the next episode they also throw in a Ben Solo cameo.
Ben Solo can't be more than 5 years old at this time
@@ashscott6068 Still, Jedi start training when they are very young so a young Ben Solo cameo would be cool
That little droid is BD-1 omg I love the fallen order game they even did a call back from the game on how he helps u thru holograms
That droid that helped din re-build the ship is a BD unit, which is a little nod to the game "Fallen Order" which you should definitely play if you haven't already.
They already played the game, it's in their game channel
Bryce Dallas Howard included your reaction in her Instagram post
Your ideas and exposition regarding the possibilities of the BOBF and the Mandalorian tie-in plot is probably one of the best on RUclips so far.
Great video and keep up the good work.
So good to see Mando again...the dark saber...and soon...Grogu. Giggity.
Fun fact: Paz Vizla is played by Jon Favreau!!!
Grogu is just in Jedi camp. Din is in Mando camp. Meanwhile Boba just wants to make Mos Espa drug free.
20:59-apparently, literally YES it was Anakin's from Ep 1.
“Sentimental Music”
What if that was Grogu’s theme?
Like Din is hearing it through the force?
The scene with Mando putting his weapons into that trunk reminded me of the scene in Mad Max Thunderdome where Mel Gibson is stacking his weapons on a counter so he can enter, and the stack keeps getting taller and taller!
Mando training with the dark saber is the way Kanan was training Sabine in Rebels
That Bowie hoodie from Labyrinth...tears. 🙏
She did. My favorite episode of this show.
The empty space where a droid would sit in Mando new ship is Grogu size.
I think Grogu will end up with the dark sabre and he will become a jedi/foundling and lead Mandalore
The dark saber is too big for his species.
The thought of little Grogu in his little Jedi robe with his little lightsaber next week…I don’t know if I can handle it…
yes that was the same fighter that he used in the final space battle in Naboo
When I said I wanted a crossover with Halo and Star Wars, I was more thinking "Master Chief joins Delta Squad," but y'know what... I'll take manufactured ring worlds existing in Star Wars.
Yea... at the end, I want to see the Master Chief with a Energy sword on the back of a Rancor.
It felt so much like Halo I loved it
I didn't notice he was already struggling with the DS in the first fight until watching the reviews. Great detail.
My bet is Grogu is getting a chain shirt. Pretty sure I saw the armorer making rings.
15:00 afterall, Favreau made this show, he made Iron Man 1 too, where Stark did the same :)
OMG!! You guys were featured in a Instagram post by the director Bryce Dallas Howard saying that she enjoys reaction videos!!
Saw that. So cool.
13:40 This scene makes me miss Alan Tudyk as K-2S0. A stolen and reprogrammed imperial droid.
"This is where the fun begins....." Btw, the other New Republic pilot was the Luke body double in the hallway scenes in S2E8
Oh that’s cool
Great video! Never thought about Din asking Luke for help on Tatooine.
The N1 starfighter is the ship Anakin used to destroy the droid control ship in Episode 1, it wasn't a pod racer.
Wasn’t talking about the podracer, mentioned multiple things at different times. Was talking about the ship.
Best episode by far. The sound of the star fighter flying through the sky was music to my ears. Makes me so excited for season 3 of the Mandolorian.
Din should have said "I need to pay a visit to my little green friend."
If you happen to rewatch you can see the ramp young anakin smashed through in beggars canyon. Little Easter egg. Love the content.
And to answer Steven’s question, yes, we’re going to see Grogu and Luke Skywalker on the Book of Bobba Fett. We’re being setup to see Grogu in beskar chain mail. Maybe Luke can teach Mando how to wield the dark saber.
I think his gift to grogu is a necklace with the symbol the blacksmith made for mando's armour??
This cute little Droid is a BD-Unit. You can see more of him in the Game "Jedi Fallen Order". Most lovely Droid after R2-D2.
its a sweet starfighter! he has a hotrod with the star wars version of nitrous oxide...thats freakin cool! we're not gonna see grogu....theres no time. im surprised they devoted the entire episode to Din as awesome as it was.
Greetings from Germany...
I watch the current episode first, and then your reaction afterwards. They're always the best.
I watch you because I understand your English well and because you are passionate about it.
From laughing to crying.
You two are also the only film/series reviewers I'm watching.
It's just perfect for both of you.
Keep it up.....
And the current episode is a Blast 🤯🤯🤯
He warmed up to druids too "thanks Lil guy" lol.
Remember the metal ball Grogu loved so much to play with? I think Mando ordered one identical made of beskar to give him as a gift...
I love your Labyrinth sweatshirt. I really want one
That little BD droid (not the same one, but his model) was introduced in Fallen Order btw and already stole the show there. I was SO happy to see it in live action
Nikki has the best comments: “Gotta keep busy.” 🤣🤣🤣
#1. I LOVE those t-shirts! Nice combo...The Goblin King and STAR WARS...it rhymes.
Nikki: "This is MESSED UP...that's what THIS is..."
Steven: "Han shot first!" (Damn straight...)
Din Djarin: "First, I gotta go pay a visit to a little friend..."
Steven: "OH, WHAT?!"
Nikki: "No, don't end the episode right now! I NEED TO SEE HIM!!!"
Great reaction, you 2. Yes, Steven, all of it, gave Us the feels. Din considers Boba part of his "Clan"...just like Boba considers Din a member of his (newish, growing) "Tribe".
Don't know if it helps or if you already knew but the Creed they keep talking about it is:
The Resol'nare, or Six Actions when translated from Mando'a into Galactic Basic Standard, were the central tenets of Mandalorian life.
